Located on the recently renourished east end of the island.
Ocean Isle Beach is a south facing barrier island with 7 miles of beach on the Atlantic Ocean, located 12 miles south of the NC/SC border. Ocean Isle Beach is a much quieter and less crowded island than areas like Myrtle Beach, etc. The beach is spectacular and is very wide and clean with a nice gentle slope. The island has a fishing pier, arcade, surf shops, restaurants, museum, ice cream parlor, mini golf course, bicycle, jet ski, kayak, boat and golf cart rentals. The backside of the island has quiet protected water great for kayaking.

Great location & cool layout

This house is in a great location right on the beach. The house has a great layout for extended family to vacation together - plenty of space for adults and kids!

The property would have been great aside from the fact that it was in the middle of construction so that the outside seating areas were far from ideal. The cleaners do not do a great job (mens shoes left under the sink in one of the bathrooms, mold in the small refrigerators, overall didn't seem to be cleaned very well.

Wonderful Stay!

Our family just returned from staying at Bray's Rays. It was perfect for us! We loved the space and the location. The house had everything we needed for a wonderful family vacation. The host did an excellent job communicating with us. We will definitely return!

Property manager was quick to respond, helpful, gave information promptly. The view was fantastic, parking was great. The home is an older home, but was layed out well, functional for multiple familys, and had nice bedrooms. The kitchen is very well stocked for cooking in! We will rent again.

Great House for our family

This house was perfect for our family. It's not fancy but has lots of space and most of the bedrooms are large. It's a huge advantage that each bedroom has its own bathroom. We had a few things that needed to be addressed after we arrived, but Cliff was extremely prompt and took care of the issues. Our family loved this house and we are hopeful to rent it again next year. We all agreed it was the best house--for us--yet!

Long overdue Beach Vacation

Lovely beach front home. Very roomy and comfortable. A bedroom and bathroom for every couple. A very well stocked kitchen, could use a little updating. We really enjoyed the beach location, never crowded as between two public beach accesses. The week went by too fast.

Vital repairs for a great house!

This is a great house that needs special attention . Tha layout is perfect for my family but it needs much needed repairs before I will rent again. I sincerely hope these are addressed before next Thanksgiving. Cliff is a good host and responds to any concerns promptly.

Thanksgiving destination

We thiroughly enjoyed our stay! The property was perfect layout for our family with plenty of space and plenty of comfortable beds. The kitchen was well stocked with anything and everything needed to prepare a meal. I have rented many houses through the years at OIB and this was by far the best layout. Cliff, the host, was also readily available for any concerns or questions. He was truly an asset. Have it on my bucket list to visit this place again.

Beach Week

First time we tried taking our adult children and spouses along with grandkids to the beach for an entire week. It was better than expected. The house more than accommodated everyone. Easy access to the beach made the trek with a 5 year old and a 2 year old that much easier. Some issues popped up that the manager and home owner jumped on quickly. OIB is one of the best beaches for young kids and family’s Can’t wait to do it again!

The host was always prompt and accurate in all communication. The house is dated and needs major remodeling. House was clean on the surface but needed deep cleaning. Flooring in lower level uneven and questionable stability. Minimal landscaping done. Mold on shower curtain in bathroom. Issues with cockroaches and AC but as I said, the host was prompt with addressing theses issues. The house delivered what it promised: lots of space and ocean front and well stocked with what is needed for a vacation.

This place was nearly perfect for our group of 10 friends. We love cooking and the kitchen was stacked with anything you could need. Being right on the beach was not only beautiful, but extremely convenient. It was so nice to be able to go out at any time of the day and come right back without having to haul things for blocks or get into the car. They have multiple tables set up so you can play games or put a puzzle down without having to clean it up for everyone to eat. There is plenty of room for everyone and everyone had their own bathroom in space. It was extremely nice! We had a few issues, but the host was SUPER FAST to respond. A communication from the host. The bad: the rooms were nice, but the bed situation is NASTY. You have to bring you own linens if staying for less than a week. It warns you in the listing, but it doesn't warn you that you have to make the beds before you leave - meaning the toppers and bed spreads don't get cleaned. You really have to trust whoever was there before you. The people there before us were *disgusting*. There was a giant fresh urine spot at the head of the bed that had leaked through the mattress topper on to the protector. They had made the bed fully over it to try to hide it while it was still wet even. The host apologized, but I feel like he could save himself if he would just pay to have cleaners there for longer to change things out. There were also numerous GROSS pillows, and beds with hair and sand on them.

Bray's Rays...not so bright

The property has not been kept up. Kithen drawer fronts fell off in our hands, kitchen shelving fell out of the cupboards, electrical issues throughout the interior and exterior. Light bulbs left burned out and not replaced. Holes in window frames allowed bugs and rainwater into the home. Cockroaches and ants throughtout the house. Burner not working on stove, no space for groceries to be put. Dresser drawers broken and repairs attempted with duct tape. Beach accessories and charcol grill are rusted and unusable. Rusted nails protruding from deck and boardwalk to the beach. Hazardous to small children and to the rest of us. This property should be de-listed from VRBO until repairs or a complete rebuild is done. A complete waste of our time and money!

Great House

House was fantastic with lots of room and games. Kitchen had everything one would need to make a full Thanksgiving dinner for nine people, including pots/pans/crock pots/roasters/dinner ware. Each bedroom has its own bathroom and water pressure/heat handled everyone. Only opportunity for improvement would be making the upstairs bathrooms a little bigger.

Great house

The home was very clean and well equipped for a long stay. The beach access was good and location perfect. The property manager was helpful and quick to respond to questions. The drier took a long time to dry even an average load of clothing. Be prepared to wash and dry towels well in advance of leaving. I would rent this home again.

Family beach vacation

Our extended family has been going to the beach for most of my life. We love staying beach front, cooking family meals, playing games and spending time together. The location and layout of this home was perfect for that. We also appreciated the use of the kayaks and bikes - that was an added bonus.
