Breathtakingly beautiful views from this lakefront home!

Thank you Joan for the compliments about home and great location lakefront for water sports. We appreciate your stay and feedback. We will incorporate your suggestions going forward relative to including additional facecloths and bath towels as well as ensuring there is adequate toilet paper in each bathroom to start guests off. Our expectation is tenants will bring sufficient paper products for the duration of their stay particularly for long stays and large groups. A/C and beach towels are not listed as part of the rental and provided as a courtesy to our guests as a backup. I am sorry you had difficulty with the gnats, as communicated in the house rules they are indeed a pesky presence at the lake in the evenings particularly after a hatch. We will make sure to take a look at the slider in the kitchen to ensure it properly closes for future guests. Thanks again for your stay and communication.

We appreciate your leaving the home in such great condition and I’m glad we were able to accommodate some of your additional requests to make your stay a success. I’m sorry your stay was during a heat wave where temperatures exceeded normal for this time of year. I’d like address your con’s to manage future guests expectations regarding some of your concerns so they can make an objective decision to stay based on the information: 1. Noise: a. Highway Proximity – the majority of lakefront homes on the East Shore of Lake Almanor reside close to Hwy-147 and this is no exception. The upside to being on the East Shore is the spectacular sunsets and fishing. b. Train – the train runs along the entire East Shore 1-2 times per day. There is the noise of the train moving past however it is important to note it does not blow it’s whistle. 2. A/C – the home was not listed with A/C. Many of the homes on Almanor do not have A/C as most time is spent outdoors enjoying the lake and surrounding attractions. Overnight temperatures fall significantly (often 30 degree difference) often accompanied by a breeze. Wind is a contributing factor on Almanor. 3. Stairs – We are new owners and in an effort to be transparent for future renters I have updated this in the listing to ensure renters are aware that: the first floor is the bonus room and a half bath/laundry room; the main level of the home is in the 2nd floor with living room, kitchen, and half bath; and bedrooms and additional bathrooms are on 3rd floor. Many lakefront homes on Almanor require many stairs to access lake. This home is flat to water but there are stairs inside the home. It is a trade off when considering homes in the area. 4. Parking – there is ample parking across the street which was bolded and underlined in the House Rules that were signed. 5. Children – the listing has been updated to highlight the number of stairs and layout of the home. For guests staying with young children who require constant supervision it would be up to the renter’s discretion if this was suitable accommodations. The lake front location and dock are major attractions for children where this is suitable for them to enjoy. 6. Crowding – the home is 1907 sf and sleeps 12 comfortably in beds with ample outdoor and indoor living space for larger groups to spread out. The home has hosted a number of large groups without complaint.
