À propos de cet hébergement

Le lac Almanor est situé à 165 miles au nord de Sacramento, niché parmi les pins où les montagnes Cascade rencontrent la Sierra Nevadas. À une altitude de 4500 pieds, il est le troisième plus grand lac artificiel de Californie et surtout connu pour ses principaux terrains de chasse et de pêche.

Il y a deux terrains de golf sur le lac, Bailey Creek dans la péninsule et un neuf trous au lac Almanor Ouest. OK, nous sommes des pêcheurs, pas des golfeurs! Le parc national du mont Lassen est à seulement 26 miles de là, propose des randonnées (au sommet!), pique-nique et vues très panoramiques. Jouez au tennis dans la péninsule ou faites du vélo autour du lac (de nombreuses autres pistes cyclables au choix).

Cette maison confortable est située sur la rive est de l'autoroute 147. À peu près au milieu de la bande de 8 milles à 3907 Hwy 147, Lake Almanor, CA 96137. Profitez des couchers de soleil sur le pont ou pêchez juste à côté du quai. Apportez votre bateau, il y a beaucoup d'excellents trous de pêche autour. Pendant les mois d'été, nous louons du vendredi au vendredi. C'est vraiment un bel endroit sur le lac.

Le shopping et les antiquités se trouvent dans toutes les vieilles villes pittoresques de la région. Dînez à Chester, la péninsule, essayez la célèbre pizzeria Buffalo Chips de Westwood ("Cabin Fever" est notre préféré).
Louez 6 nuits d'octobre à mi-mai et la 7ème nuit est gratuite! Pour des vacances vraiment abordables sur le lac, c'est l'endroit.

Supper friendly host

Booked this house for my husbands fishing trip with the boys. They had an awesome time and the host was super helpful and communication was great. Only thing that would have made ot perfect was if the dock was in the water. Wasnt very shore fishing friendly.

Hard to say whether the property or the host was better - Deborah's family home is one of the coziest stays we've had. The home is outfitted for comfort, and has absolutely beautiful lake views The hosts are generous, welcoming, and available. Just a wonderful experience!

Homey and cozy stay.

There are already so many positive reviews about this cabin, it is hard to add something different to the list. The pictures capture the ambiance. The host is absolutely first rate. Her communications are helpful and timely. The nearby town of Chester has a market, Holiday, that is well stocked with healthy and organic food, along with plenty of regular grocery items. You will enjoy cooking in the kitchen. It was chilly and rainy during our stay but we enjoyed the views of the beautiful trees and the lake. We bundled up in the plush comforters, caught up on a few Netflix programs and enjoyed being together before the big holiday rush. We explored the town of Chester and felt that everybody was warm and upbeat. This is a unique town.

Uncle Johnnie's Cabin was a big hit

Uncle Johnnie's Cabin was a big hit for our group of four fishermen. The cabin was very comfortable for us. The two bedrooms and adjoining bathrooms are good size. The cabin is clean, in great condition and nicely decorated. We were there for 4 days/3 nights to fish. To stay at a lakside cabin is so convenient for us on kayaks and a boat. As the cook of the group I appreciated the large, clean refrigerator, cabinet full of pots, pans, utensils, and plenty of spices and oil. The large table on the back deck with a new Weber, 3 burner, Spirit grill was our afternoon and evening gathering spot to talk about the ones that got away. Thank you Deborah for being a gracious host!

Birthday getaway

This property is located right on the lake. The cabin is well thought out with both bedrooms having a private bath. The kitchen is stocked with everything you’ll need. If I could give one recommendation it would be to have an umbrella holder on the dock and/or a flat spot on the yard to secure an umbrella and chairs. We couldn’t enjoy the dock as much because there was no place to put an umbrella for shade. Same goes for the dirt lawn that had too much slope and extremely limited shade. We had to chase the shade around and as result spent most of the time on the back deck with a table and chairs. This place is adorable and has tons of potential. But not recommended for children or seniors.

very helpful owner

My husband has recently been diagnosed with dementia. i had hoped a visit to our favorite place, Lake Almanor, would bring back happy memories. We couldn't figure out how to use the TV (Apple smart TV and he is used to Xfinity) so not being able to watch his Tour de France and Wimbleton finals was very upsetting for him. The owner returned our call immediately and tried to help. She had experience with people suffering from dementia and was willing to make an exception to policy and gave us a refund when we had to go back home. The baths were nicely updated. The bed was comfortable with nice linens. The kitchen is old and the BBQ old. There is a dock into the lake but no "beach" and no grass, just dirt to the water so it made relaxing on the water challenging for my husband and our dog. They need a gate on the stairs from the deck to the water to keep dogs from leaving the deck. We were extremely pleased with the owners response to our problems. We left, not expecting a refund.

Wonderful stay at the lake

We had a great stay at Uncle Johnnie's fishing cabin. My husband and I had our teenagers, toddler and two black labs. It was definitely a slice of heaven to be out on the dock with our entire family. We brought our paddle boards and kayaks and easily launched them from the dock. Our toddler appreciated the toys left for her to enjoy. We stayed in and cooked every day in the well stocked kitchen. Our dogs had so much fun on this trip, they didn't wanna come home. We will be booking again in the future. Thanks Debbie!

Great 2 bedroom home

Our stay at Johnnie’s cabin was wonderful. Has everything you need. Both bedrooms had a comfortable bed. The living room had a pullout bed that was also nice for kids. The backyard had enough chairs to sit area a round table to enjoy the beautiful view of the lake. There are also chairs under the deck to put on the dock to sit and enjoy. We all had a great time! Will rent here again. Our host, Deborah was on top of all our questions and needs. You won’t be disappointed with this place.

Beautiful Cozy Lake House

Deborah is very communicative and made the entire booking process so easy and stress-free. She’s such an amazing person overall. The cabin and property is very well managed. The cabin is very clean and cozy. I love how the cabin is decorated. Gotta love all the amenities and essentials the cabin has to offer! Plenty of books to read. If you love to cook, there’s plenty of kitchen utensils to use while you’re there. The scenery from the cabin is very beautiful! Very nice size deck to relax outside during the afternoon and evenings. Easy access to the lake from the cabin. Check-in & checkout process was very easy. Definitely made some awesome memories there with my family! Will definitely visit Uncle Johnny’s Lakefront Fishing Cabin in the near future!!

This is a cozy lake house with a great view. Home in on the older side but the price is fair and the view from the deck and dock is hard to beat!

Great property for lakeside stay

Our stay was great with plenty of room for the two of us and a visitor. Owners allowed our two dogs and we were able to use an expandable gate on the deck to have them outside with us. Watched the sunset every night and enjoyed the mornings out there. The kitchen is well stocked with basics. Location is very convenient to town but not too close to busy areas. Would definitely recommend.

Great Little House On The Lake

Our family had a great time at the house. The photos don’t really do the place justice. Its no frills but everything you need to be comfortable and of course, right on the water. House was clean and stocked with all the essentials (including basics for my 1 yr old), host was communicative, etc.

My sisters and I stayed at uncle Johnny’s cabin for our annual sisters trip. We absolutely loved everything about this wonderful home. The cleanliness, the location and our host. Deborah was just fabulous. I would highly recommend this home to everyone. I can’t say enough positive about it.

We purchased the home in 1999 as strictly a business investment. Little did we realize how in love with the entire area we'd be. John loved to fish & sure could get his limit! Our family lives in the bay area but travel north to the home monthly. It's our favorite place to go!

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

The history of the Lake Almanor Basin is fascinating (we keep a book on the shelf to share with our guests). We found out the home was built in 1953 by Finnis Mack Saunders, nicknamed "Chief", a foreman for the Red River Lumber Company. The knotty pine walls & ceiling in the kitchen are priceless! We've respectfully done some remodeling while keeping the old world charm of the home. The well water is very good, plus extra filtration on the refrigerator door for cold drinking water. No need to bring bottled water. There's no curbside recycling so plastic water bottles just fill up the land waste!

Uncle Johnnie's Fishing Cabin is situated on the middle of the east shore & is truly a nice spot on the lake. We enjoy sharing the home as much as our guests enjoy vacationing there!
