à propos de cet hébergement
Fleetwood Studio - Unit One by Stay Waiheke
Summary:
A calm, minimal hideaway in Awaawaroa Valley, Fleetwood Studio sits among 18 acres of open land, sunlight, and birdsong, a quiet rhythm that feels worlds away
The Space:
Fleetwood Studio sits within 18 acres of pristine native bush and open land, a quiet retreat designed for stillness. The architecture is minimal yet warm, clean lines, natural textures, and light that shifts gently through the day.
Inside, a king bed, modern bathroom, and comfortable lounge create a space that feels effortless. Every detail is considered, from the quality linen to the subtle craftsmanship that anchors the studio in its landscape.
Glass doors open to a private west-facing deck, where the view stretches across the valley toward Te Matuku Bay. Itâs the kind of spot where mornings start slowly and evenings fade into the sound of birds and wind through the trees.
The small kitchenette gives you the freedom to prepare simple meals or snacks, and the quiet around you makes even the most ordinary moments feel unhurried.
Fleetwood isnât just a place to stay, itâs a pause in the middle of the island, a rhythm of sunlight, still air, and time moving differently.

Guest Access:
Fleetwood sits deep in the valley, where the road winds through farmland and forest before opening to the sea. Most guests bring a car, but getting around without one is easy â and part of the islandâs rhythm.
Buses run regularly between the ferry, Oneroa, and Onetangi, connecting to the main routes across the island. Jump on, meet a few new people, and make a day of it. The main line passes through Vineyard Valley, with stops outside most of Waihekeâs top wineries and The Heke Kitchen, Brewery & Distillery, where Fridays often roll into music and sunset drinks.
Itâs an easy, social way to explore â no parking, no rush, and no need to drive after a glass of wine. If you prefer more freedom, E-bikes and scooters are available for hire in Oneroa, and thereâs private parking at the property if you do bring a car
The Neighborhood:
From Fleetwood, your morning starts slowly, light moving through the valley, birds in the bush, the island already at ease. Youâre surrounded by 18 acres of native land, with the sea and Te Matuku Bay just beyond the trees.
This part of Waiheke feels untouched. Itâs home to the islandâs most beautiful boutique vineyards, places where time stretches long over lunch. Start at Poderi Crisci, known for its long Italian-style meals under the vines, or head to Passage Rock, where the cellar door sits quietly between hills and sea.
If you keep going east, Man Oâ War Bay is worth the drive, wooden tables beneath the trees, shared platters, and wide water views that make you want to stay all afternoon.
For supplies, Ostend is about ten minutes away, with The Island Grocer, Woolworths, local bakeries, and a weekend farmers market where you can pick up cheese, bread, and Waiheke olive oil.
And when the day draws in, The Heke Kitchen, Brewery & Distillery is the islandâs laid-back meeting place, good food, craft beer, and a live DJ on Friday afternoons through summer.
By evening, youâre back in the quiet, the bush alive again, and the valley settling into stillness.
Getting Around:
Fleetwood sits deep in Awaawaroa Valley, about a 10-minute drive from Onetangi and 15 minutes from Oneroa Village. This part of the island feels remote and peaceful, the kind of place where you wake to birdsong, not traffic.
There are no public buses in this area, so a car is essential for getting around. If youâre arriving by ferry, you can hire a car at Matiatia Wharf or arrange local taxi or shuttle transfers directly to the property.
Once youâre set up, most of the islandâs vineyards, beaches, and restaurants are within a 10â20 minute drive. The Heke Kitchen, Brewery & Distillery, Tantalus, and Stonyridge are all easy stops on your way back toward town.
Private parking is available at the property. The roads here are rural and scenic, winding through farmland and forest, part of what makes this corner of Waiheke feel quietly removed
Other Things to Note:
Please note â Minimum stays:
2 nights minimum year-round
1-night stays available between May and September on request
Fleetwood sits on 18 acres of native bush and open land in Awaawaroa Valley. The propertyâs remote location is part of its appeal, offering peace, space, and complete privacy, but it also means youâll need a car to get around the island easily.
Like many homes on Waiheke, the property runs on rainwater tanks, so please use water thoughtfully during your stay.
Everythingâs been designed for a relaxed, independent visit, modern design, quiet surroundings, and a true sense of being away from it all
Interaction with Guests:
Our Stay Waiheke team is available seven days a week from 8:30 am to 5 pm, with after-hours support for anything urgent. Once youâve arrived, everythingâs ready for an easy, independent stay, calm, comfortable, and completely your own.
Check-in details will be sent before you travel, and the property is well set up for self check-in. During your stay, youâll have full privacy, but help is always close if you need it
