The view is absolutely astounding!Although quite small the setup along with the aesthetic made for a lovely place for my partner and I to stay. We loved the deck table for dining.
We were on Maui for 4 days and chose to spend all our time in HÄna at this beautiful and peaceful cottage. We were so glad we did!! There are many amazing sites close by but this charming cottage is a destination in itself. The extensive view of the ocean is amazing and the grazing cows add to the serene scene. We spent many hours on the porch, soaking in the beauty and tranquility. It was very hard to leave.
The cottage is truly relaxing. As soon as you walk in you feel a beautiful breeze off the ocean and can see and hear the surf below. The porch is such an easy place to relax: stare out at the ocean, watch the numerous butterflies and birds that live in the meadow or have a drink with a great book. The cottage is very well looked after and is equipped with everything you might need. We loved the location as it was between the town of Hana and the national park.Michelle, the host, was terrific with providing all the information we needed for an enjoyable stay. While visiting, we loved swimming at Hamoa Beach, hiking the Pipiwai Trail and gulch trail, the Hana Highway with its spectacular views and the people/shops of Hana. The cottage is the perfect place to capture the best that Maui has to offer.
Extremely beautiful, clean cozy and comfortable. It is right off the road so there is "traffic" noise, but not disturbing. It was a perfect getaway. Mahalo
The cottage is lovely and has everything you need. Super convenient to Hana and surrounding hiking, you can't go wrong staying at the Koli Ranch Cottage - highly recommend!
Beautiful little cabin just off the road only 5 miles from Hana and 5 miles from the Kipahulu part of the national park. Best ocean view, saw sunrise, sunsets and several rainbows. Peaceful except for occasional traffic noise.
We had a great time staying here. I really loved seeing the cows graze. This was the perfect location for us to rest after driving the road to Hana and then start our morning hikes before the crowds rolled in.
Cottage was perfect for what we were looking for! Definitely the best place to stay in order to get away from the touristy areas of Maui. We enjoyed every moment in the cottage!
Everyone already listed amazing things about this place. All I want to say is this is by far our favorite vacation rental in all of Hawaii. We have stayed in many places on multiple islands but this place is special to us.
Quiet, pristine, beautiful, this cottage surpassed any and all of our expectations. Perfect jump off point to experience all of Hanaâs many gems. Had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Definitely coming back for our next visit
My name is Michelle and I manage this heavenly cottage for an old family friend, Chuck. This cottage is a hidden gem which I hope you get to experience for yourself! I enjoy interacting with guests of the cottage. Their gratitude is a constant reminder of how lucky we are to call this place home.
Many of our guests return annually. They all say the photos don't do the place justice. Everyone declares the view spectacular. There are 70 acres of government preserve between the cottage and the shore. Even so, when the whales are here (Dec-Apr), you can hear them splash. Cattle and a few horses abound in the preserve, and you can watch their calf's frolic. A thoroughly restful place. The serene views and private nature of the cottage offer a sanctuary of kinds for guests.
Koali Ranch Cottage started out as a vacant lot set aside for a school house. In 1955, the Territory of Hawaii decided that it did not need a school there and auctioned it. Chuck's parents were successful bidders. The Territory insisted that the house be erected within a year. The cottage was designed by local architect John Tatum, working with island famous Val Ossipoff.
