The location was great. While the property could be great also it needed much work. There were holes in walls and bedroom door didnât close among other things. I would suggest bringing your own pillows at pillows are flat as pancakes!! While I appreciate the keyless entry you had to enter the code three or four times before the door would open. Property was very clean. Just needs renovated.
We were greeted with early check-in, which was an unexpected surprise. The room was beautiful and large. We enjoyed walking to the beach and took advantage of the local beach umbrella and chair rentals to make the trip easier. We mainly were in the condos to shower and sleep - water pressure was great and beds were comfortable. The pool was nice and easy to access. We were lucky to snag this unit to squeeze out every last minute of summer. Thank you all for a wonderful stay!
Honestly, it was okay. Location was great, many things to do in the area within walking distance. Older unit, not really an ocean view. Doors would not shut. Washer/dryer was not really available, needed to go across the main road to laundry mat. Internet was spotty. Door code was way too long.
Excellent proximity to the beach, restaurants, and grocery store. It was nice to be able to walk everywhere and not worry about parking. Kitchen appliances and bathrooms are newer and well-functioning. Wifi was reliable. Customer service was responsive when I couldn't find the parking pass. The unit could use a furniture/paint refresh, but if location is your priority, this is a good option.
Overall, the home is fine but needs some updates/improvements. It is close to the beach and local restaurants. The real issue is the property management. On the day of our arrival my husband went into the master bathroom to shower where there was a sliding glass door. Time he opened the door (thankfully he still had clothes on) the door shattered and he sustained multiple cuts on his hands, feet and back of his arms. The property management is only available by a text line. To make a long story short (because my original review was too long and I could not tell the whole story). They wanted to wait until the next day to clean the glass up. Maintenance came and did their best but advised us not to use it until it was cleaned by an actual cleaning crew, as glass could still be present. The shower incident, then the toilet in the second bathroom stopped working. Dishwasher didn't work. Toilet was fixed the next day but maintenance looked at the dishwasher and said "I don't fix those". Never any follow up on that even after asking multiples times, so we had to handwash dishes multiple times a day as we prepared all meals there. Asked multiple times for management to call me and they never would. Expected a pack n play and there was not one present. Manager stated via text she would give $100 refund for the toilet issue and no pack n play (which I still have not received). I spent half of my stay either texting with no responses or on the phone with the main Vacasa number since the local manager would not talk with me. I finally asked for the number of the insurance carrier and the manager said she was ceasing all communication with me after that. This management team does not own up to their responsibilities nor take the safety of their guests seriously. We were never once offered to be moved to a safer unit after the glass incident, or for cleaners to come and properly clean the bathroom. (And I have 2 small children). We had to vacuum multiple times ourselves and still continued to find shards of glass in the master bedroom. The wifi was slow but obviously not the biggest issue. We were so frustrated that we paid for a 2 bed/2 bath and only half the unit was functional for us. This place was a joke. Never again. Never will I ever book something with Vacasa.
The location of the condo couldnât have been better - you walk out and literally to the right is the Main Street of IOP with all restaurants and shops. The location of the private pier and beach directly across the street was also ideal! We visited in off season so it was not busy at all. The condo was clean and everything we needed was provided. I would recommend that the owners put up new curtains in the second bedroom though, as they are very thin and light does come in. We brought our own pack and play and slumber pod for our toddler so the light wasnât as much of an issue, but it may be for some. We would come back and stay again - easy parking, instructions to check in and check out.
We enjoyed staying at this condo close to the beach. It was our home base for a 5 day trip to the Charleston area. We like staying near the beach and this condo was a short walk to the sand. There were chairs for the beach at the condo. The condo was more than big enough for 2 of us, we enjoyed coffee on the balcony.
Walk out of the parking lot, cross the street and you have access to the private fishing pier - which is a great pier. Loved sitting and feeling the breeze there. Also private access to the beach. You really can see the ocean from the balcony here and sunrise is pretty great from the balcony as well. We found everything to be comfortable. No problems at all. You have 3 flights of stairs to climb but you get used to it pretty fast. Regular coffee maker - bring your own filters. Meals out are pretty expensive. If we return we'll cook some meals in. The kitchen is very nice. You can walk down palm lined streets to good restaurants. Coconut Joe's exceeded our expectations and is right on the beach. Papi's tacos was really good. The pool was great and you can see it off the balcony. Very small complex in a great location. Bring your own beach chairs and umbrellas. And the grills are ones you would find in a camp ground. Bring your own charcoal? Not gas and are in the parking lot right by green transformer boxes. So in my view, you really don't have a grill unless I missed something. We weren't grilling so it was okay. No washer dryer in unit. That was okay too. We would come back for sure.
Property is amazing and a great value for the price. Location is amazing.
Vacasa manages this property and they are TERRIBLE.
A tropical storm hit during our stay which ruined it. Before we arrived I was contacted by Vacasa saying that the local office would be closed during my stay due to the storm. Given that the Vacasa office is literally across the street from this property, I was naturally concerned. I tried contacting Vacasa and was unable to talk to anyone in the local office. Naturally I had questions about whether the property was accessible given the local Vacasa office employees wouldn't even drive to the area during the storm. I was directed to a non american off short customer service person and to say the person had no answers was an understatement. The text message I got from Vacasa was basically a "storm is coming we are leaving town good luck!" message that was the WORST message you could send to people in such a situation.
I was not going to write a review but honestly I keep getting email reminders asking for a review and I'm only doing this to stop those reminders from reminding of me about this horrible vacation.
I don't fault the owners at all, my gripe is with Vacasa which is legit a 1 start vacation rental company. Do not rent any of their properties, do not let them manage your rentals. Check out their horrible < 2 star google reviews for that local office like I should have ahead of time.
Loved the convenience of the location. Very walkable, beach access, pool, and Target just across the bridge. Cleaners do need to pay more attention to detailâbaseboards in bathroom were covered in hair and lint, and trashcan had crackers and cheese in the boot tray behind it. They offered to come back and clean but that would have been inconvenient. We also had pest control show up and do some spraying, but he left before we could mention the bug we saw. Iâve stayed in worse places, just have to note since Iâm a neat freak. If cleaners do better with crumbs, Iâd give it 5 stars!
It was a nice place with a good pool and a nice beach. I was a little disappointed that the dishwasher was broken during our stay. With our family of five, it was a pain to do the dishes by hand. The beds were very comfy and the shower was nice. I also liked being able to easily walk to IOP. My only other wish was for more beach stuff available in the condo for the kids to play with. The umbrella and chairs were very rickety and not the best either.
All in all it was a decent stay, and i appreciated the cleanliness of the place and the ease of checking in and out. We would stay again.
