We really enjoyed our stay at Surfside Resort. Itâs in a nice, clean area of town and has private access to the beautiful white sand and blue water beach! The view from this unit wasnât of the beach, but off in the distance thereâs a water view, so not a total loss! It was very clean and simple complete with a microwave, dish ware, coffee pot, and 2 small fridges. The building is dated, but the location and beach access makes up for it. Pool and hot tub were clean.
No noise issues. On the 9th floor, so expect to wait a bit for the elevator, but it wasnât bad.
Make sure to check out Pascaliâs for amazing breakfast and quick lunch and Mezcal Mexican Grill for a great appetizer+drink happy hour (4-6).
Wonderful location great water view awesome area .We didn't need to drag our chairs they had that available to us as guests. Only thing I would
Say it does need some upgrading but we spent most time on the beach to us we didn't care.
This room served its purpose. It was clean, the walk to the beach was perfect. It was right across the street. The one complaint I have is the parking. I thought we were allotted parking spots, but very hard to find one thing. They fill up fast. So get there early and donât move your vehicle. Use an Uber, rent a cart, or just walk. Otherwise youâll lose your parking spot.
We stayed for 3 nights, and weren't happy with the accommodations. The resort was dirty & outdated. Our room was filthy. Our feet were black after walking around for just a few minutes. There were cracks & holes in the floor tiles, which I'm sure contributed to the dirty floors as they would be hard to clean. The lamps & ceiling tiles were dusty. Our coffee pot was dirty. There was mold/mildew on the caulking inside and outside of the shower stall. The shower pressure is way too strong, it was like being in a car wash. This was not ideal for kids and showering our child was difficult.
The only good thing about our room was that the beds were comfortable. There were no tissues in our room, which is a pretty standard amenity in a hotel room. There wasn't a guest Wifi option for our room. Our welcome papers gave a password for the wifi, but we had to try all the other wifi's near our room number to find the right one. It ended up being the wifi next door to us. The specific network name should have been written in the blank space labeled "network name" on our welcome papers.
Most of the hotel halls that we had to walk through smelled horribly bad like pot. It was disgusting and very disappointing. The morning of our check-out, our room smelled like pot. This was not ideal to deal with while having a child in our room. When I checked out, the same staff member (whom was friendly when I checked in) didn't seem very concerned about my complaint about our room smelling like pot that morning. She seemed dismissive of my concerns regarding my child being in a room that didn't have healthy, fresh air to breathe. We couldn't just leave the room because we were in the process of packing up our belongings. The hallway on the lobby level that goes out to the parking garage constantly smelled like pot as well. For this reason alone (smelling pot everywhere we went), we will never be back to stay at the Surfside Resort.
The only good things about the resort were that the pool & hot tub were really nice and it was so convenient to have an umbrella & beach chairs for us on the beach. The man that was running the beach chair rental stand was very friendly and we enjoyed talking with him! We loved swimming in the pool and relaxing in the hot tub.
You get what you pay for, and I wish we had paid more to stay in a nicer & cleaner resort. We were disappointed and will not be returning.
