Hello everyone, there are often two sides to a situation. We have managed this home for years and in respond to the cleaning of the home: if they were unhappy with the cleanliness, we would have sent the cleaning team back over to do another full cleaning. The sheets are sent to a local laundry to make sure that they are washed at the high temperature and then pressed. We did not know they were unhappy with the cleaning until they said they purchased cleaning supplies. We do stock with basic supplies but do not over-stock.. All they needed to do is ask and he would have had more. And by the way, he forgot to mention I did respond quickly and paid him $100 cash for the supplies he purchased. I asked for their Publix receipt, but he didn’t seem to have it. In reference to the kitchen faucet it is one of those fancy faucets that you touch to turn on and this one has batteries. We immediately sent someone over to replace the batteries, and most believe it to be real nice kitchen feature! In Florida, we occasionally have sweet/ghost ants, especially when we have a rare cold front, and they come in seeking warmth and show up when least expected. We immediately came over and put ant traps out, which takes 3 – 4 days before they are gone, this doesn’t mean they will not show up again soon. I think that is why people refer to them as ghost ants. Also, we never send a neighbor over to help with maintenance on a rental. This tenant did call when the pool was really low, and we appreciated it very much. I asked him if he minded starting the water and set the timer to shut off in 2 hours. He called back and said he could not make the water work. It was just a matter turning on the timer. We immediately had a team member stop by and fill the pool. It was very unfortunate that the pool started leaking, which is totally out of our control or anyone else’s. It was inspected and discovered there is a leak in the skimmer. Also, another out of the ordinary misfortune, was the “newly hired” yard boy blew leaves and dirt into the pool. This has never happened before. The pool person was there within 3 hours to clean. Our tenants did not need to wait on maintenance service, as we have very reliable, honest team members available at all times. At the end of his stay he asked for compensation, not free rent. He didn’t want free rent, he wanted compensation. What is the difference? I gave neither one because I felt we were getting set up for a reduction from day one.
