This place was disgusting! We drove almost two hours to arrive at a filthy home, with dead bugs and flies, a dirty carpet, and a filthy stove. This place needs an update and things replaced. We left immediately and were refunded for our trip. Additionally, there is a peculiar back house that is never mentioned, containing furniture. I wasn't sure if someone was living in it. What a huge disappointment!

Nice stay!

Nice location But needs major updates

We have stayed here several times over the years, but this last time wasn’t great The kitchen has a random assortment of cookware, and not well stocked at all The house needs a major deep clean, new rugs, silverware that’s not from mid-evil times The fireplace is cracked and falling apart the hot tub doesn’t work great No dog bowls The sheets need to be washed better and the couches suck The location and the yard are great !

Beautiful quiet house on the coast

We came here for our 5th wedding anniversary, toddler in tow! The house was peaceful and beautiful and we loved our time there. The upstairs bedroom has amazing views and really feels luxurious. We loved hot tubbing after our baby went to bed! The WiFi was pretty fast which was great since I came out early and worked one day there. The house is quirky and I wouldn’t call it a super luxury property, but it’s sweet and perfect for a family weekend and I would come back! We loved walking to the beach and found that the cape meares beach by the house was absolutely beautiful (and empty).

The king bed is very comfortable

Spent the weekend here with really bad weather so we mostly stayed inside relaxing and playing games. Loved the selection of games and puzzles. The bed upstairs is super comfortable and there is pretty much any kitchen utensil you could ever want. However the house could really use a good deep clean, lots of dust and dog hair in the corners and under furniture.

Perfect little house for a coast getaway!

I love staying in Cape Meares and this was my first time at this specific house. My dogs loved the giant fenced back yard. I really enjoyed the hot tub, it has the perfect amount of privacy in the back yard. Everything we needed was in the house, and we especially enjoyed the selection of board games available. We also enjoyed the newer reclining couches. The master bedroom upstairs had beautiful big windows to look at the ocean views and let in a lot of sunlight. It’s a short walk from the beach as well. I would definitely stay again. Thank you!

A gem of a location

We absolutely loved the house and location. It’s a real gem. The neighborhood is so quiet and the beach is right there. Gorgeous back yard. There was a hot tub but it was locked up—which is fine because we aren’t fans. I’m still investigating if there was an upcharge for the tub. The one drawback is the kitchen is tired and needs updating. We would have given cleanliness five stars if it weren’t for the moldy caulking and trim around the kitchen sink. If we had stayed an extra day, we would have recaulked it ourselves. It’s really unacceptable—especially at the price we paid. That being said we are coming back. Hopefully someone will address the kitchen sink by then. If not—we will.

Lovely beach house, not childproofed for toddlers

We very much enjoyed our stay in Cape Meares at this cute and spacious property! The house has 1 1/2 bathrooms and a very nice washer/dryer, a comfy living room with lots of sofa/loveseat seating, a large dining table, a good-sized kitchen (though the electric stove burners are all on a slant, they work fine), and a big, enclosed backyard, great if you are bringing a dog and kids. The one thing we missed was attention to the sorts of details that would make a stay more comfortable for a family with babies, toddlers, and/or preschool-aged children. Here're the things we had to bring along that we would have loved to have at the property: Pack n play with folding mattress High chair (ikea would be fine) Baby gate for bottom of stairs Child proof lock on under-sink cabinet Black out curtains in children’s bedroom (it is VERY bright in the summertime, our preschooler asked why we couldn't turn off the lights when we put them to bed at 8pm) Bonus: Bucket of beach toys For not that much money, all of these items could be provided for a much nicer and safer stay for young families. I'd also note that the backyard swing is not in working order -- it should either be fixed up or taken down.

Excellent for dog lovers!

There are lots of great things about this property. I will start with the negatives, and there are not many. 1. This one is for Vacasa guests (not homeowners). Guests, when a property is kind enough to allow dogs there are a few things you must do, one being clean up after your dog in the yard! Each day we scoop poop and the first day took quite a while as there was poop from previous guests- not cool! 2. Because this is pet friendly, the carpets are a bit dirty, there are a lot of scratches on the doors, and there is some wear and tear on the furniture (small holes and scratches). Again, I tend to expect this in pet friendly places. The appliances (fridge and stove) were quite dirty and we cleaned those. 3. There are a few areas where repairs are needed: in the hot tub not all jets work and it does not get very hot, the front screen door sticks quite a bit, some of the bathrooms needed lightbulbs, and a new microwave is needed. I'd also like to see more throw/lap blankets. Now for the good! 1. Lovely location! I also really appreciate the vacasa houses that allow us to travel with our beloved pets. This place has a HUGE fenced yard that is stunning. We sat outside, the dogs loved outside, and the yard was really the highlight of this place. 2. It was in Cape Meares which is home to us. We stay there every 6-10 weeks in different vacasas depending on who is with us and we love this rural, secluded beach, the quiet neighborhood, and everything about the location is perfect. 3. The upstairs bedroom is stunning. The ocean view is to die for. It did get warm so we opened all windows and put fans in windows to get airflow and the temp was perfect. (Note- we bought our own fan because the second one in the closet was too dirty to use). The bed was very comfortable. Hangers would be nice in the closet though! 4. The size was perfect for us- three adults and two dogs. It would also be perfect for a couple and 2-3 kids. There is no bathtub, but that doesn't matter to us. The washer and dryer was nice and we used the baby gate there to keep dogs in same room as us (we do not like to let them wander in other people's homes). 5. One night we had guests over for charcuterie and we found everything we needed for slicing and laying out meats, cheese, fruits, etc. We brought our own tinfoil, baggies, coffee- so did not mind that the kitchen was minimally stocked. 6. Wifi, tv streaming, etc. all worked extremely well. This is important as there is no phone service in Cape Meares. Overall, it was a lovely place. In terms of cleanliness it was average- fine. I wish others had done a better job picking up after their dogs in yard (and scratches on doors/furniture) but that is to be expected. Still, I am so appreciative of owners who allow pets that we try to be the best pet owners and guests and want others to do the same so people keep allowing this! We will likely stay again- the yard is the crown jewel in this one- and is a space we enjoyed.

The backyard had a can of old trash left in it Pineneedles everywhere nothing was cleaned up for our arrival. The appliances were outdated and dirty, especially the toaster oven. No instructions to operate the hot tub. The backyard had no pooper scooper for pets. I think should be included for a pet friendly property. Great location, beautiful house had a good time other than these small issues. Also no ax provided for firewood. In the picture that was provided to VRBO. There was no fire pit in the backyard brought my own barbecue, which I left there for the next people to use.

Really dusty and dirty from dogs staying here previously, smell of dander and dog hair everywhere. Property people offered to come spot clean it but I'd already did it myself. Good if you have small kids. Excellent location and large backyard. Minutes from the most gorgeous part of the Oregon Coast I've ever been to. Had to have them come take the lock off the hot tub because it was luke warm but they fixed it for me.

This house was perfect for us and three 12 year old girls and our two dogs. The proximity to the beach and the fenced yard were perfect for us. The only downside is the room with the bunk bed is quite a bit smaller than we perceived from the photos, but it worked fine.We would definitely rent this place again!

Beautiful stay

This house was absolutely beautiful. We had 5 guest and there was plenty of room. We loved everything about our stay at this house. We had ocean views from both the upstairs bedroom and downstairs bedroom. The hot tub was very nice and a great way to end our evenings. I would definitely recommend this house and stay here again.

Vacation

As soon as i walked in, there was a very strong yuk smell. Old gross carpet is what i found. The water pressure was not good. Sometimes i could take a long hot shower, other times, i ran out of hot water quickly. There is a carpet upstairs that i tripped and fell over because the edge won't stay down. Three hour tub gave me chemical burns because the chemicals were too high. The next day it was cloudy.The tools for the fire place were weak and broken. Other than that, the stay was nice. Everything worked, nice veiws, warm home, fake safe. The carpet was nasty because it's old.

The perfect cozy getaway!

My boyfriend, pup and I had SO much fun staying at this cute beach house. The dog loved the having a large fenced in yard to play in. With a 5 minute walk to the beach and short car ride to Oceanside and Tillamook, this location couldn’t have been any better for us. We really enjoyed the wood burning fireplace while playing the offered board games. The hot tub made for a great experience after the chilly beach trips. Will definitely be back!!The only downside was the privacy issue. There are only half curtains on the windows so we felt like we were in a fishbowl. Hopefully the neighbors didn’t see anything!!
