Gisele and Guy were lovely, easy to get in touch with if needed, and generally very chill. Property is cute. Thereâs a small fenced side yard that is nice for the dogs. Itâs a < 5 minute walk to cute coffee shops and restaurants. Amazing neighborhood. It would be difficult to use the driveway since small cars need to use the neighboring ramp and trucks that can go over the curb wonât fit. If youâve got a small car and are great at parking it could work. But street parking is generally super easy. We stayed a month and parked right in front at least 25 days. The street is a little loud at times and can get pretty backed up during prime commute times, but thatâs kinda par for the course in LA
My husband and I recently spent ten weeks in the Historic Mediterranean Bungalow. The mattresses are very comfortable and the high-quality natural bed linens were especially noteworthy. The kitchen is adequately equipped for short stays, but we are big cooks and spent ten weeks there so the kitchen wasn't quite up to our needs. But Gisele and Guy took very good care of us, responding graciously and promptly to our requests, and supplying anything that we could not live without. Although the bungalow is on a busy street, we were not disturbed and parking was easy. It is true that the parking space is very narrow but because most of the time we were able to park on the street right in front of our door or within 1-5 car lengths of our door, we didn't bother parking in the driveway. And of course Silver Lake is a lovely treed and central neighbourhood. So we were "happy campers" and would stay there again. Thank you Gisele and Guy. You clearly take pride in your work.
My husband and I celebrated Christmas in Los Angeles this year and this was the perfect base for us. It is quite close to our son and daughter-in-lawâs house and very convenient to the reservoir, library, good coffee and restaurant, etc. The living room /dining nook is attractively and comfortably furnished. We didnât cook there nor use the dishwasher or laundry machines. Ms. Plouffe was quite responsive.
This is centrally located, but on a busy road with modest street parking. The bath tub is on a slope without hand rails, which is dangerous for elderly people. This should be addressed.
Beautifully furnished bungalow in lovely Silver Lake neighborhood. Very homey. Would stay here again on a future visit. Nice respite from the activity of LA whether vacationing or on business. Nice amenities.
We rented this property due to it's proximity to Children's Hospital LA. We live out of town and needed a place to stay before, during and after our son's surgery. Not only was the property a short easy drive of 10 minutes from the hospital but, we were allowed to bring our furry family as well. There is a side yard that is fully fenced and an awesome place for the dogs to get some fresh air during the day and then a wonderful sidewalk for walking the dogs. The property owners were very accommodating regarding our dogs and the length of stay we needed for our son. Additionally, the property has air conditioning which was a blessing as our stay was during a time when LA was experiencing a hot and humid heat wave.
Our only downfall to the property is the parking. We had to bring two cars and it can be difficult to find a street parking space. We did manage to squeeze our smaller car into the compact car parking that belongs to the unit we stayed in but often had trouble finding a close spot for the other car. The road is VERY busy with traffic and can be a bit of a hassle to get in and out.
Overall, we were very pleased with our experience with this rental. My only reason for giving it a 4 rather than a 5 rating was due to the parking issue.
As a well travelled LA native, I know what I like to arrive to when on a journey. We have been hosting for 5 years and have had many excellent reviews on our other property's.
