We had a very nice stay (family of four with two young kids) here visiting relatives and sight seeing. The apartment was clean and well-appointed. Owners very responsive to requests. Would recommend.
We just spent six days in Tim & Robin's lovely place and couldn't have enjoyed ourselves more. It was light, airy, and spacious, beautifully decorated, and spotlessly clean. The location was ideal and faced away from the street so there was very little traffic noise. We loved it here and would highly recommend this location to anyone looking for a quiet and convenient spot to stay in Silver Lake.
Very comfortable place to stay. I'm not a fan of Los Angeles, but it was nice to be able to open the windows, get a nice breeze and enjoy the view of the star pines in the back yard.
Parking can be a challenge with no dedicated parking, and a community center next door, but I never had to park more than a block away.
We loved our stay, and Robin and Tim couldn't have been more responsive and accommodating when we needed to change our dates due to an unexpected flight cancellation from Southwest Airlines. The apartment was perfect for us--clean, quiet, and spacious, with beautiful views and everything we needed. As a bonus, we were close enough to walk to breakfast spots. Hope to stay there again.
This is such a perfect little property! It has everything you need and it's lovely.
The owner is great, very accessible and down to earth.
The location is fantastic - close to everything.
Would absolutely recommend and would absolutely stay again!
This was an excellent place to stay for a family visiting Los Angeles. Nice property with a very responsive owner and great access to Silver Lake shops and beyond. We would stay here again.
We were a family of four (adult kids) and needed a centrally located place to stay for several nights before my daughter started a summer internship. Tim and Robinâs place was darling and completely functional! If we had wanted, we could have stayed in and cooked meals but ended up eating out because Silver Lake has so many great places to eat. We loved the decor, the views out of the windows, the comfortable beds, and the linens!
Our second stay in this great LA location was A++++++
We visited this wonderful property for the second time in March. It was cozy despite the rainy weather and perfect for us - just like last time. The owners do an incredible job maintaining their units. Parking was easy, it was quiet, and it was well stocked. Don't miss all the nearby restaurants and attractions. We drove to Disney Hall in 20 minutes in light traffic. We also discovered if you walk a block toward Sunset Junction, you can see the Hollywood sign on the hill! We'll stay here again on our next trip to Silver Lake.
Great location.
Clean.
Tim was super responsive and helpful.
Quiet.
Kitchen was cute but not wonderfully equipped. A bit mix and match stuff.
But pretty easy to cook in and the farmersâ market is close and cheap.
I didnât have a car but found it easy to walk/use buses (though this seems like a foreign concept to LAers)
For the space, location and comfort, this rental is a super value.
We really enjoyed our time here. Tim and Robin are the perfect hosts, and keep their property in TOP shape. We got some great tips from them on local eateries, etc. Don't miss Dinosaur Coffee, also Barbrix ($1 oysters on Mondays!), and both are walking distance. Sunset Junction is conveniently close. So is the subway. We took Uber to the Hollywood Bowl - easy! This is a large apartment, much larger than the pictures look, and exceptionally clean. Wow! It is well stocked with ketchup, mayo, ziplocs, and similar items to make your stay easy. It's private, well lit, in a safe neighborhood, and the air conditioning worked great. Beds, linens, and furniture are all very comfortable. Street parking was easy. Trader Joe's and Gelson's markets are a short drive. It's got everything we needed for a fabulous get-away. We unconditionally recommend this property, and will be staying here on our next visit to the area. Thanks again, Tim and Robin! J&S
very clean, well maintained and tastefully arranged
On the down side, the access is only by a stairway with no walk to a yard anywhere in sight. With a dog, one has to cross the Griffith Park Blvd, and climb the hill where higher end houses with yards provide a more pleasant prospect for a quiet walk.
The biggest downside is the quite limited parking nearby to the unit, and Silver Lake's pernicious parking regulations that can easily mislead out-of-towners who park where only residents with stickers are allowed. Some streets nearby are entirely painted red on the curbside. The unit itself is beyond reproach.
We stayed here for 3 weeks in a transition between selling our home in San Gabriel and moving to our new home back east. We felt very much at home, and very safe, in this comfy little unit. I was most concerned about the parking, as it is street-only, and surprisingly we were able to park right in front of the unit about 90% of the time, and the rest no more than a few doors down. I would have liked a television in the bedroom, but that was not a big issue for us. Trader Joe's and Gelsons are conveniently located down the street, and plenty of great restaurants and entertainment nearby. We most enjoyed hiking the stair streets for fun and exercise. Tim is a fantastic and responsive host and I highly recommend staying here.
This is our second stay with Tim and Robin and just as ideal as the first. I called this a "hideaway" because it is located on a lower level, away from street noises and LA frenzy, and a great place to be for privacy and comfort. The apartment has everything you need but is not filled with things you don't. We visit Los Angeles often and will definitely return to this gem. A bargain and a treat.
The cottage was very comfortable and well equipped, and in a great location. If we had any questions Tim was always available and helpful. I felt very safe...I will stay here again in the future.
The property was perfect for meeting our first grandchild. My daughter flew in from Dallas and with my son and his new family in Atwater Park it was perfect.
Plenty of room for all of us to gather and not feel crowded at all. My son would love to be able to lease it for his family, his apt. is one bedroom. We found a great place for breakfast just walking down to Sunset. And the "Home" restaurant just 10 minutes by car was really good too. Lots of restaurants just minutes away by car, and the park right up the street.
A couple of suggestions: towel hooks in the bathroom for damp towels, a towel hamper, coasters (I didn't want to mark you wood, so we used paper towel), a pitcher for iced tea, and a ice cube bin for the freezer. We're big ice tea drinkers.
We're coming back! My husband already talked to Tim about the VRBO you have by the stadium where the Cowboys hold training camp. Sadly it was already rented during that time. Next year we'll be there and probably see you in Silver Lake before that. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Robin & Tim were great & attentive hosts. Their mid-level 2 bedroom, renovated apartment was well located, with all amenities one needs for a week long stay. We enjoyed our stay & would not hesitate to recommend it. Note of caution : windows in eating area a potential danger to toddlers.
