Absolutely beautiful views from very clean cabin. Needs a little maintenance to fix burners on stove. Beds a little uncomfortable but views make up for that. Be prepared for uphill/downhill mountain driving to/from.
Loved it! Couldn't have been happier with the Cabin. So many windows which gave us amazing views from inside or outside. Beds were very comfortable. Half bathroom in the living room area was so convenient. Okay -- for our family's favorite part -- we got to see black bears outside the cabin on 3 days. It really completed our mountain experience. I highly recommend this cabin rental.
The cabin is amazing, spectacular view of the mountains. The beds were comfortable, and the kids loved the hot tub. Every activity in Pigeon Forge was within a half hour of the cabin. Checkin was easy, the home was spotless, I have nothing but good things to say about this property and I would recommend it to families or groups of friends.
Overall, a beautiful cabin with stunning views. We had bear visitors daily. The cabin needs some updated cookware, new mattresses in the bottom bedroom and the room with two beds. Cleaning needs to get better, there were a ton of cob webs, and all the glass needs a good cleaning, otherwise a wonderful experience.
My family enjoyed the experience at the Kodiak cabin. The experience could have been enhanced if the Mountain View matched the advertised pictures. Many trees need trimmed to restore the view. Some basic TLC and updating of a few items such as appliances and this cabin could stand out. We really enjoyed our stay, I am just concerned that the cabin is not being properly maintained.
Pro: Beautiful home! Beautiful view!
Saw 2 different bears at different times of day.
Comfy beds. Has 3.5 bathrooms, which was very
convenient for our party of 10.
Cons: A lot of cobwebs in the house. Outside of house
could also be cleaned up better concerning the
cobwebs. There is a big web with a big spider near
the front door. We also saw carpenter ants, a roach,
and baby roaches in upstairs suite.
Wifi had to be restarted after we found it in the
upstairs bedroom with the 2 queen beds in it. The
fuse popped for that room on our 3rd night, and
couldn't find the electric panel... we didn't have Wifi
the rest of the stay.
The fridge wasn't cold enough, so we had to place
our items in the freezer.
Dryer took 3 cycles to dry our clothes.
We were concerned because of the most recent review that slammed this place. We were pleasantly surprised. 3 stars for cleaning, sweeping/mopping floors but overall a decent place. Some bedding needs a refresh on the 2 queens upstairs but beds were comfortable, no smell other than like a cabin in the woods. Beautiful view, hot tub worked fine, just bring a corkscrew if you want wine!đ Up high on the mountain but not treacherous as we've had worse. Flat parking was a plus. Overall decent but maybe a bit pricey if you don't have a big group. We didn't use the pool table but it was a little "used" looking.
The home is beautiful. The views are extraordinary. The furniture is not comfy at all. The owners do not want you to hang out around the cabin. The couch is not for laying on, or enjoying the views. The mattress, if you can call it that, in the master bedroom is positively dreadful. It was like sleeping on a deflated air mattress. It does not fit the frame. My shins are bruised from trying to climb in and out. It's entirely too small for the frame. For the cost of the 2 night stay they can afford to replace the mattress at the very least. We'll return but, most likely bring our own air mattress for comfort. We checked out very early, I wanted to go home and recover from the terrible nights of sleep.
The view at cabin was wonderful!! The cabin itself was just ok. It seems to be a much older cabin and not very well maintained. Microwave was not working when we arrived. Luckily I was able to fix it myself. Two of the burners on the stove did not work either. The AC/Heat went out and it got incredibly hot inside the cabin. The bed upstairs is hard as a rock and the water pressure was terrible. You could not run two water sources at once. If you tried, one would turn into a drip. I think the owners need to take time to improve this cabin to make it better. For the price we paid, I donât think it was worth it. Vacasa did refund some money for the trouble with the air. Only because they couldnât relocate us due to the no other availability in the area. I will not pick this cabin again next time we return. Again, it wasnât terrible, just needs some TLC from the owner to make it better.
The cabinâs view was amazing, but unfortunately there were huge carpenter ants coming out of the kitchen counter wall when we arrived. Contacted Vacasa, the management company, right away, but they did not return the call until the next day. They said someone from the local team would be contacting us that day to take care of the ants. No one called or messaged us for the remainder of our 4 night stay. We contacted them again, left messages several times, but to no avail. So, we could not have any food on the counter and were left with killing ants the entire stay. Not what you expect to deal with on a trip with your family. The countertops / cabinets need serious upgrading to avoid these problems.
Upon arrival, the inside of the cabin smelled bad. Every corner of the cabin both inside and out was covered in spider webs, the inside floors were sticky, the comforters on the bed were not clean looking, none of the tv channels worked, the hot tub would not heat. I turned the air on to circulate but that did not help the odor. I tried resetting the tub, that did not work. I attempted to call from the cabin but there is no phone service. I had to drive 20 min down a very narrow mountain road to get service to call. Did not return and had to find another cabin for the weekend. VACASA refuses to give a refund. Beware booking through them as they are no help.
The cabin was pretty to the eye, but...there are issues that can not be overlooked. 1st, there needs to be a professional exterminator. We saw sooo many bugs and I get it, it's a cabin and there are going to be some critters, but we saw a scorpion inside the cabin! That did it for everyone. We had someone willing to just sleep in the car! Ants everywhere come out of the cracks. The kitchen looked seemingly clean until we start opening up cabinet doors, wanting to cook something, which there wasn't enough cooking pans to call it a fully equipped, stocked kitchen. The undercabinets were full of mildew and just looked very dirty. So no cooking for us!. Let's talk about the sheets in the bedroom. The first bedroom downstairs was full of cobwebs, and the sheets had pee stains on the sheets!. The comforter has slob stains, and the cleaning service had the audacity to put it on the bed?? Really? The maide/ cleaning staff needs to be fired! Not one bedroom had decent clean sheets. They all had to be torn off the bed and washed. The pillows had stains on them. Who wants to sleep on stained bedding? Who? No one. The couch needs to be replaced. there were stains and crumbs on the couch. The secondary bedrooms were no better. Cobwebs, bugs it goes on and on. The breaker switch for the microwave kept going out causing it to go out. Maintenance come but it went out again. There is no access to get to it due to being under the house. The refrigerator isnt cold enough, the freezer part does
There is so much to say about our stay at Kodiak #45. When we walked in I was overwhelmed with the beauty of this log cabin. It was bright with windows wrapped almost completely around the cabin. It's as beautiful as the pictures show and more. Super clean! The first floor living space was huge, we loved the dinning room window in front of the cabin. AND the sunsets were gorgeous on the deck and from the living room area. The bedrooms were large and comfortable. The sheets were clean and crisp which are important to me. You knew they were washed. The bedroom bathroom had all the needs we needed. Supplied with some bathroom accessories, toilet paper, hand bar soap, towels. If you need a hair dryer you will need to pack that. Each bedroom had it's own bathroom and also a small main bathroom for everyone. The kitchen was stocked pretty well, could of use a few more dish cloths and dish towels. We used the Hot Tub once and it worked very well. Our week there was very hot and the air conditioning was great. We spent every night out on the beautiful wrap around deck.
Things to know. The drive up is steep and lots of turns The first time it seemed nerve racking but you did get use to it. We always came back before dark because of the climb up the mountain and the bear. Yes bear! Make sure absolutely no food of any sort be left in your cars. AND make sure your doors are locked. We had a bear come up to our daughter as she was trying to get into the cabin, she threw her food at it so they could get back into their car and wait for it to leave. We also had a bear climb up a tree and jumped onto the porch when everyone was on it. Luckily we kept our first floor bedroom door unlock so we could run in the opposite direction. I suggest that highly. The bear was on the porch for about 5 minutes but snuck off with a cooler of beer. We never left any food out but it probably could smell the grill on the porch. We had another in counter in the mid morning and a bear climbed up the post of the porch and ate the charred crumbs from cooking. It also tore up my grandsons swim floaty. We always had to people watching on the
porch when we were out there. and doors looked when inside. We had three bear in counters at the pool. We were good until other people came in with food and the bears were there with in minutes. We were always careful walking to and from the cars. Please keep an eye on your little ones outside and on the porch. A bear did break into a few vehicles including our son in laws car. Fortunately no damage, but others went as as lucky. We put all of our garbage down in the main garbage compost not in the bear containers they have. We would not defer us from coming again but now we know to be aware of our surroundings. We had many amazing stories to tell about the bears which made great memories. It was the best family vacation we ever had. Highly recommend this Kodiak resort! We had two things with issues which Vacasa took care immediately. Loved it!
The cabin has a beautiful view, and is very clean. We loved our stay. We enjoyed movies in the living, the dining table was perfect for our group to eat together and very beautiful in the morning with so many windows letting in the light. The hot tub was at a great spot! Provided amazing views while we relaxed. There is a store close by to get any items needed. Management was very responsive to our questions.
This cabin was wonderful, beautiful views and very spacious. The home had plenty of amenities and supplies which we appreciated. We will definitely be recommending this cabin to our friends. Thanks for the great stay!
