We never really understood where we could go. The home could be beautiful but lacked cleanliness. We asked for more coffee. That never happened! I could go on and on but my husband says let it go.
Chuck and Tammy were absolutely incredible hosts. The food provided is some of the best my partner and I have had in a long time, I highly recommend planning ahead for dinner.
Check-in was a breeze and Chuck was incredibly easy to get ahold of. Once you make it onto the property, the view of the valley is stunning and with 30 acres to explore, there was always something to do.
We made the mistake of scheduling a wine tour in advance, and found out on arrival that the hosts offer their ow winery tour service.
Overall amazing stay and we plan to visit again next summer. (Side Note: For a cheaper reservation, go directly to their website, chateauvalhalla.com)
Relaxing on the back patio or at the pool each evening sipping wine, enjoying the breath-taking sunsets and the spectacular views of the Yakima valley and surrounding mountains was just the elixir we needed. Chuck is a wonderful host, who makes you feel at home and part of the family. We love wineries, with so many in the area it was hard to decide which ones to visit. Chuck designed a tour of several that precisely met our wine preferences, provided a driver and even arranged private tastings. The valley suite was immaculately clean and well stocked with coffee and snacks. Thank you, Chuck, for sharing your wonderful home. Our only regret was having to leave after only 3 days. We plan to return at our next opportunity.
Gorgeous property and very kind owners. We visited Yakima for a wedding. Since we spent most of our time there, we didnât get to use the amenities as much as we could have. We were âstuckâ with this option since all of the hotels near the wedding we were attending were booked. By the time we drove onto the property, saw our room and experienced all of the views, we were very pleased. The property had amazing sights from every room. There was an inviting heated pool as well as a large theater room with some comfortable looking loungers.
The only con was that the drain in our bathroom shower was clogged.
Overall, we had a fantastic stay and will stay again if we ever visit Yakima/Selah!
From start to finish, communication was easy with the owner. This home is located in Selah, about 15min north of Yakima. We were greeted by the owners when we arrived and made to feel comfortable the whole time.
The property is just as beautiful as the pictures and the evening sunset is gorgeous.
There are two separate suites in the home to choose from. We were in the city suite. Plenty of room in the suite for two adults (queen size bed). We appreciated water bottles in the room in the mini fridge and a few snacks too. Potentially forgotten toiletries are in the bathroom for your use.
Simple items are available in the kitchen for breakfast: bagels and/or muffins with fresh fruit. Coffee pot was in our room.
The owners do occupy the home while you are there. One evening we reserved the home theatre room to watch a movie. Popcorn đż is provided along with 8 reclining seats. Itâs a fun treat for evening entertainment. There are no TVâs in the suite. Wi-Fi available.
We used the pool one afternoon and it was wonderful for lounging on a hot day. The pool house has a shower and toilet along with fridge and sink for your use. Pool towels provided.
The home is air conditioned and very comfortable. Excellent value.
Chuck and Tammy took such good care of us! They have an incredible home and made us feel like part of the family! The Yakima Valley is perfect for a fun, relaxing weekend.
The property is a private home, and you are renting one of the bedrooms .The property is beautiful, and the hosts are friendly and gracious. A unique experience.
Beautiful home with an unparalleled view and a pool to die for. If that wasnât enough the hosts were over the top gracious and welcoming. By far the best place I have ever booked on Expedia. The only way you can miss with this place is if someone else books before you.
The views from the place are incredible. We couldn't have asked for a better location. It is a very quiet and peaceful home with friendly and knowledgeable owners. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a getaway. We will be returning for a longer stay next time we are in the area.
The hosts are wonderful, they make you feel right at home. Everything is pristine clean from inside to outside. It has beautiful 360 view of the valley. We were lucky to be there on a Strawberry full moon, the view was stunning. Our room was large and spacious. The bed was super comfy, we had a small fridge, coffee pot, microwave. The pool is to die for and it is heated. The hosts thought of everything to make your stay one of kind. You can not go wrong with staying here and you will leave with having made a couple of great friends.
The property was wonderful, the hosts were gracious and friendly and offered plenty of amenities, and the view and environment were comfortable and relaxing. We really enjoyed our stay. The sounds of the bullfrogs from the pond, and the red tail hawks playing tag in the air currents were fantastic. I'd highly recommend this for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.
My first time staying at a hosted home. OH MY!! Great host, beautiful property, comfy beds, and so tranquil! Loved watching the evening hawk wind surfing sessions! Thank you Chuck! Top notch!

Anniversary weekend!
Absolutely beautiful location with a thoughtful bedroom set up. Will absolutely book again when we are back on that side of the mountain! Hosts are charming and welcoming đ
Beautiful view from stop of a mountain over looking Selah Washington. The view was amazing but the Home was beautiful and comfortable the room was clean comfortable and quiet ,with in minuets of town. We enjoyed our stay and was sorry to have it come to an end. The staff was courteous and friendly and helpful.
The home and property were absolutely beautiful. The house was decorated exquisitely with every amenity at our fingertips . Our suite was private and the bed was comfortable. Chuck and his family were very welcoming. We are looking forward to a warmer weather visit in the future so we can enjoy some pool time. We are definitely coming back.
The surrounding countryside was covered with snow. It was beautiful. Would love to come in the summer to use the pool as well. All in all it was very peaceful our "suite" was awesome and hosts were very welcoming.
I am a lifelong resident of Yakima Valley and grew up on a family farm only minutes away from where we built the Chateau in 1999. I have a passion for food, wine, and adventure and love to entertain people at the chateau.
Location, Privacy, View, the grounds with a 2-million-gallon pond that has an island. The home was designed with comfort and convenience in mind there are no stairs or steps anywhere.
