We missed one night due to hurricane Erin. Besides that it was wonderful. Everything was just as stated did notice when we arrived the carpet needs steam cleaning
It was okay, prob will pick another rental next time
Good: Huge kitchen, private pool, washer/ dryer. Hot tub.
Not so good: beds are not comfortable, at all. Seriously need replaced. Pillows are flat and hard, or too soft. I took as many as I could out of the other rooms. No go. The actual mattresses have a pad over them, and they are both not clean (mattress and pad).
They shorted us one 'comforter,' on the 3rd! day, I found that mine was absolutely disgusting. At least I could wash it. This was a deal breaker for me...
All the couch throw pillows, and the love seat, smell like dog. Gross!
The carpet desperately needs cleaned, wouldn't step on any of it with bare feet.
Huge roach in the 2nd floor master bedroom on first night as I was unpacking. No way I was staying in there! Husband killed it, then he found another in there a few days later. Yeah, no thanks. Don't sleep in that room! We never opened the glass sliding door, no idea how they were getting inside.
Once the sun goes down, avoid the pool and hot tub, roaches are out on the decks. No go for me!
We were very careful about cleaning up the kitchen and taking out the trash nightly, never saw any in the kitchen.
This place looks clean upon entry, but then you really get to see the places that have been missed. Don't put your clothes in the dressers, the drawers are not clean. Under the beds? Just dirty and gross.
They texted me at 1:45pm that the place was ready, we were 4 hours away. That sucked too.
No hair dryer, no soap, cable TV is actually good. Take extra towels, don't pay for that.
It was okay, but yeah, probably won't stay here again...
Rented this home for spring break, 2 adults, 1 child, 1 dog.
Had some issues with cleaning, and it was too cold at night for the pool heater that we paid for, but otherwise a pleasant stay.
The house was as advertised and the area is absolutely wonderful.
I very much enjoyed our stay at Two Sons. We had plenty of room as there were only three of us, however the house easily accommadates a group of 8 without space issues IMO. The top floor where we stayed has a great deck and spacious kitchen. The living room is adequate and the bedroom/bathroom were fine. Middle level was nice as well two good bathrooms and three good bedrooms. Also another nice deck with a great hot tub. I would stay here again.
We had a great stay despite being forced to arrive a few days late because of a mandatory evacuation due to a hurricane that barely affect Hatteras Island. The beach is lovely, the house is large and comfortable and the decks are great. The pool and hot tub were bit hits with our teenagers (and the adults, too). I would go back to this property.
We arrived to screens off the house, ripped, etc. A toilet seat broken through, dishwasher not operational. Contacted property manager by phone twice and email twice with no resolve. We had to hand wash dishes throughout vacation, costing precious time (there were 7 of us, lots of dishes). We did our first load of laundry and someone had left bleach in the washer or something - it ruined an entire load of clothes. The time and financial expense of going clothes shopping was very disappointing. I would have liked to have this conversation with the property manager but like I said, absolutely no communication. It's a shame because the house itself was great. Great location, plenty of kitchen stock (plates, pots, pans) and room for all of us. We would have loved to stay again and give a raving review.
This is the perfect location and just what I needed. I love the proximity to the beach, the view, even if not ocean front, the rooms and amenities, and the affordability. I especially love the fact that the owners welcome dogs! My boy has loved the deck and has fallen in love with the ocean! The only suggestion is that basic items, such as dish soap, toilet paper, and paper towels be provided, at least in âstarterâ amounts, as I had to run back out for these things after arrival my first evening.
The property was just as described and what the pictures showed. We really enjoyed our time spent at the private pool. This property is not for anyone that has trouble climbing stairs. (Three flights just to get to the kitchen) We were very disappointed because we had to follow a mandatory evacuation issued by the Governor due to hurricane Dorian...
There should be a way that guests are able to still redeem their days missed even if it is during the off season, or be contacted when the house is available at a later date. We were only able to use 3 of our 7 days. By the time we checked in on Saturday until we were forced to leave on Tuesday we spent less than 72 hours at the property. A refund for days missed or alternate days would have been appreciated. We purchased the trip insurance but when we contacted them they would not pay for trip interruption. (i.e we had already started our vacation) Just beware if you travel during hurricane season.
