I was a little disappointed with our experience. I was ok with the torn blinds and broken knobs on the hot tub, even ok with the broken dining room chairs that we couldnât use. I didnât even throw a fit about losing a day of our vacation due to the mandatory evacuation. However, i reached out to maintenance several times regarding our hot tub not heating. It was only 98 when we arrived and never got hotter than that. By Tuesday night it was 75. It was unusable. They never showed for the mid week service like they were supposed to. They never responded to our service request on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday. After we checked out Saturday we got a message that they were working on it and then that it was fixed within an hour. That tells me that it was a minor issue and we couldnât get service on an amenity that was important to us. We chose a house that was not oceanfront but had a pool and hot tub and then wasnât even able to use the hot tub all week over a 1 hour fix. I feel like when you spend as much money as we did on a vacation rental, it shouldnât have several broken, inoperable blinds, several broken unusable dining chairs, and we should be able to use the hot tub we paid for. I understand things breaking, I donât understand not being able to get maintenance until an hour after we leave. I then emailed surf or sound when we returned from vacation and my response was basically sorry, we will try to improve. To me, that is unacceptable customer service.
