The Wiseman House in Fayetteville was perfect for our family vacation of 6 adults and 2 dogs. The kitchen was well organized and equipped; the home had plenty of room for relaxing and dining. The dogs loved the large fenced-in backyard. The location was great for our hikes in New River Gorge National Park. We strongly recommend the Wiseman House.

What a wonderful home! The house was very clean and had plenty of space for our party of 10. We were all impressed by the bedroom closets, and one of the upstairs baths had a shower head tall enough to accommodate my 6'8" husband, which is very rare and was a pleasant surprise! The house was stocked with everything we needed from kitchen to bath to laundry, and the host left plenty of great information regarding the house and the town. The location! We were in town for a wedding at the Gaines Estate, and we were able to walk to the venue, as well as all of the shops and restaurants in downtown Fayetteville. It was quite rainy during our stay, but I would love to stay here again and get some use out of the beautiful backyard!

The home was wonderful. Well furnished and equipped and beautiful. It’s in the perfect spot to walk to the shops downtown or to the local event estate and restaurants. The hosts were very helpful as well. Highly recommend.

This was a return trip to a wonderful house. We rented in June of 2025 and could not wait to come back this summer. The house was very clean and works well for our family get together. Plenty of room and a great backyard for the kids and patio for adults. 2 blocks from downtown - so location is ideal to walk to restaurants, coffee or shopping. Check-in was a breeze and communication with the owner was effortless.

This was a great place to stay for my family's week-long summer vacation exploring the New River Gorge. Our group (7 adults and one dog) fit in the house comfortably. We loved the backyard and the easy walk into downtown Fayetteville. We'd definitely stay here again!

Beautiful home. Very clean and well equipped with nearly everything you could possibly need. Great location. Can walk to all of the locals spots in Fayetteville. Fenced in yard was very secure and our dog loved being able to roam. We would definitely love to stay again on our next visit.

Second time staying at this awesome rental. Location is perfect walking distance to many resturants, shopping and exploring downtown Fayetteville. Loved the private fenced in back yard!

Wonderful Stay!

We enjoyed our stay in Fayetteville. The home was spacious for our group of 7 including a large fenced in yard which our dog loved. We were walking distance to all the shops and restaurants in the downtown area and a short drive to New River Gorge National Park. William was a friendly and helpful host. I would recommend this property to anyone visiting the area.

Beautiful, comfortable house in the cool town of Fayetteville

The house is easy to find, pretty inside and out. Very comfortable to hang out in, great kitchen for cooking. Amazing back yard for our pup. Only a couple block walk to shops and restaurants and a short drive to the Canyon Rim Visitor Center. The owner was very responsive. Overall an excellent experience and stay.

This house was excellent for what we needed it for! We got married at The Gaines Estate and the close proximity was ideal for us! The house was cute and quaint, perfect for myself, my mother and my five bridesmaids!

Great House in a great location

The house was sparkling clean and just as described. The backyard was huge, fenced and great for kids and adults. We loved the evenings on the patio. The house was located on a quiet street, but only a couple blocks to a great bakeries, coffee shops and restaurants. The area was filled with hikes and adventures. Fun for All!

Girls Run Trip

We stayed at the Wiseman Cottage for the 50km New River Gorge Trail festival race, and it was the perfect place! Super close to the start/finish in Fayetteville Park and close to plenty of restaurants as well. Everything was very clean and well kept!

Wonderful!

Our family had a wonderful stay in this lovely, comfortable home. Lots of character with all the important things -- like the bathrooms and the kitchen --updated and fresh. The backyard was a great, and safe, space for our pup to run and play.

Sisters Weekend

We have been coming to Fayetteville off and on since 2007 for our sisters weekends. We absolutely fell in love with the Wiseman House and plan to come back here every year. There are 6 of us, and it’s been hard to find something in our price range where we can all have a bed!! And it’s really centrally located too! Can’t wait to return next year.

This house was very clean and well appointed. The owner was very accommodating and gave us everything we needed regarding information about the area. The kitchen and supplies were all well stocked. The house was easy to find and is close to everything in downtown Fayetteville. It was an easy check in and check out process. We were very happy with our stay.

Absolutely Lovely

Do yourself a favor and book this house. It’s spacious, beautifully decorated and comfortable for a big group. The kitchen is well stocked but if you don’t want to cook there are several restaurants within walking distance. It’s a short drive to rafting outfits and other outdoor activities. The owners are absolutely fantastic and stopped by to drop off some delicious freshly baked poppy seed bread. Plenty of hot water for showers, comfortable beds and soft towels. We’re hoping to return next year to raft the Gaulley and will absolutely be back!

Absolutely a wonderful stay

The house was very comfortable, beatuiful, spacious and roomie. We were able to check in a little earlier than expected without any issues. Our fary children enjoyed the fenced in yard. Our kids enjoyed walking into down town, which is lovely and quaint. The house was close to everywhere we wanted to visit, not to mention blocks away from Biscuit World. This was my first trip to West Virginia and am very glad I found this home to stay in. I highly recommend this property. The entire family enjoyed the stay. House was fully ready for our family, including our cookout. The favorite part was the AMAZING Poopy seed bread that welcomed us. AMAZING!!!

Quaint, immaculate house walking distance to downtown Fayetteville. Hosts were friendly and responsive. Highly recommend and would stay there again, given the opportunity.
