Amazing home and location to New River Gorge National Park
Six traveling girlfriends had a wonderful time in Fayetteville. We spent days hiking and driving through New River Gorge and even did Bridge Walk. Evenings spent at this wonderful home. Well appointed, had everything we could need. Comfy beds, thick towels and an outdoor fire pit which we used every night. Great location in town and walking distance to all shops and restaurants. Highly recommend!
This house was excellent for what we needed it for! We got married at The Gaines Estate and the close proximity was ideal for us! The house met all of our expectations.
We really enjoyed staying at this location! Really close to downtown, across from a fairly popular bar, with a fantastic restaurant down the road within walking distance. Location had off street parking and was close to various hiking trails around the area.
Bill was as excellent host! Would recommend and return!
This is the second time our family has stayed at this house. The host are great and very easy to reach. We had a wedding at the Ginza state and this location couldnât be beat. It was close to the wedding venue as well as all the shops and restaurants Fayetteville has to offer. The house is very clean and well furnished. Highly recommend choosing The McGrath house for your next vacation!
The home was very comfortable with plenty of room to gather together or just visit one on one. We especially enjoyed the outside areas and the closeness to shopping and restaurants. I highly recommend this home if you have a group of couples and/ or individuals.
Great place for our family gathering. House was clean and well stocked. Great location. Close to new river gorge national park, restaurants and shopping.
A group of friends stayed here to attend a wedding at the Gaines Estate. The location is prime, with anything in downtown Fayetteville in walking distance (and Pies and Pies right across the street!). We enjoyed time outside on the porch, went shopping around town, and had plenty of space and everything we needed in the house.
Our family enjoyed staying here for our daughterâs wedding. The house was very clean and well appointed. Bill was very accommodating, easy to get in touch with and provided us with information about the house and area which was very appreciated. This house is very close to the Gaines Estate and the town of Fayetteville, WV.
We were in town for a wedding at the Gaines Estate and this property was right across the road which made it perfect for us! It was exactly as described and absolutely beautiful!
The property was in excellent condition and in a great location! The historical house has been maintained very well. The space is perfect for multiple families and very comfortable! The property manager was easy to contact and took care of our questions patiently and efficiently.
This was a halfway point for our family (NC and OH). We've stayed in the area three times before, but this property met our needs very well. Plenty of room, clean, and close to the New River Gorge National Park. Even found a bowling alley close by.
This was our second stay, one family stay and one friends stay. The house is well stocked, well-maintained, and very cozy. The location is unbeatable. We will be back!
My wife and I were not able to travel this trip, due to COVID-19 infections. Our adult children (all 30+) and their babies were able to go. They thought the house was real nice and enjoyed the town of Fayetteville.
We try to hold a family get together every year or two. There was a several year pause after COVID made it difficult. We found the property and thought it would be a good place to try. The home was great for our needs and allowed us to come together, try some activities in the area and come back to every night. We enjoyed the experience and recommend renting this property for other people thinking of holding similar family vacations.
We rented this property to accommodate family for a wedding nearby. It was a lovely historic property that still felt like home. We loved sitting on the front porch and relaxing. The location was perfect for us and the hosts couldnât have been nicer.
Our entire family met for a birthday celebration. The house gave us plenty of room for everyone to enjoy spending time inside and outside. It's a lively home in a great location, allowing us to explore Fayetteville easily.
We loved the house and and how close it was to restaurant's and the antique shops. There was plenty of room for everyone. We would definitely stay here again. đ
Bill and Sally Wells are the owners of the The Ramsey Mountain Lodge, Sugar Creek Chalet and the McGrath House and live nearby in Fayetteville. Sally grew up in town and Bill is a native of Upper St. Clair, PA. The Ramsey Mountain Lodge was Sally's homeplace. It was remodeled into a vacation rental that opened in May 2013. The adjoining neighborâs house (Sugar Creek Chalet) came on the market in December 2013 and the Wells purchased the house for a vacation rental that was opened in May 2014. The McGrath house was purchased in January 2015 and will open in July 2015.
We have always loved the architecture of the this historic home in downtown Fayetteville. When it came of the market, we decided to buy it because of its great location and historic charm.
No other vacation rental property offers this unique combination of luxury living, convenience to downtown Fayetteville's great restaurants, pubs and shops and access to the NRG Park and the Cascade Resort Property across the street.
