Dear Shannon, I am genuinely surprised by your 6/10 rating, especially considering that during your stay no concerns were raised regarding the cleanliness of the villa, the quality of the property, the welcome you received, the location, or the assistance provided throughout your stay. The only criticism mentioned in your review concerns the availability of toilet paper. For a two-night stay for seven guests, four rolls were provided, which is generally considered an adequate amount. It is therefore difficult to understand how this single issue could justify such a low overall rating. I would also like to point out that, although the villa had been fully prepared with all the necessary bedding for the number of guests booked, you searched through closets and cabinets looking for additional sheets and blankets without waiting for my response and without any authorization. This happened despite the fact that I was consistently available and responded to messages within minutes throughout your stay. What I find equally surprising is that your review makes no mention whatsoever of the welcome you received, the cleanliness of the property, the constant assistance provided, or my availability before and during your stay. Instead, the overall evaluation appears to have been based almost entirely on a minor consumable item that could have easily been addressed with a simple message. I would also like to note that after your departure I found a strong smell of wine near one of the plants in the garden, suggesting that the property may not have been treated with the same level of care and respect that we dedicate to maintaining it for our guests. Despite these circumstances, I still chose to leave you a positive review as guests, acknowledging that the villa was returned in generally tidy condition. I am confident that future guests, as well as VRBO, will be able to judge for themselves how representative and balanced a review can be when it overlooks every positive aspect of the stay and the level of service provided, while focusing almost exclusively on a single minor complaint.
