We enjoyed our stay! Beautiful clean rooms with view in both bedrooms and living room.
The only problem we had was we couldnât check in early and waited until 4pm during Alberto storm!
Gorgeous views - perfect resort for young families
This condo was beautifully decorated and perfect for our family with two young children. The views were incredible!, the beaches were gorgeous and the pools were nice! We had a wonderful trip and would recommend this unit and resort to all our friends and family....especially those with kids. Thanks for sharing your little piece of paradise with us!
This was our first time to Panama City Beach and we loved it! This condo was amazing in every way. It was so clean and beautiful and everything we needed. Splash is such a fun resort. Checking in and out was very easy. We were so in love with this condo and we will for sure be back!!
This condo was everything we needed. Newly updated and included everything we could want. We spent the month of February and we were very comfortable. The master bedroom and bathroom are very large with a wonderful soaker tub and large shower. Overall a very lovely place to stay.
Lovely Condo. View of the ocean was beautiful, kid areas were great.
Some recommendations:
- Alert Visitors to Construction Prior to Booking and Arrival
- Don't place outside furniture stacked in a room where an infant could hurt themselves
- Add a Crab Leg Cracker, baking sheets & Salt & Pepper to the supplied kitchen items
Thank you!
Our condo was beautiful and had everything we needed. Beautiful corner views and very clean! My only complaint would be the door codes that were sent to me in the appâone code is supposed to open the âcommon doorâ and that code is 10 digits longâand one code is our actual room door and that is 6 digits...neither of these worked properly so we had to call and get maintenance up there before we could get in. Finally got it fixed but still think itâs just a lot do go through every time you need to go to your room.
While we loved the condo and the beautiful view, I couldnât give this a full 5 stars because when we arrived the master bath was not cleaned. The toilet and sinks were very gross. House keeping did come out the next morning to clean this up and were very nice, but that was all they cleaned. We mentioned to housekeeping that the table had sticky jelly on it and the floors we sandy/gritty and covered with little paper, but that was not taken care of. We also said that the air vents were covered with quite a bit of mold and were told that they will notify maintenance. That was also not taken care of and we did not feel safe turning on the AC/Heat. I spent the first morning on vacation cleaning the condo (except the mold), which is frustrating because I am sure we paid some sort of cleaning fee.
This was extremely upsetting to me. I would not have stayed at a condo designed for children to play if I had known there was no adult only pool or Jacuzzi. I had two young adults with me that were quite miserable because of this misrepresentation. This condo is not family friendly as there is no where to put food. The refrigerator has broken shelves that fall out on you. The ice maker makes ice but it doesn't come through the fridge door. There is not even a baking sheet in the kitchen. Smallest "family condo" I ever stayed in and don't even get me started on the bunk bed that will kill someone trying to sleep on it. I have NEVER left anyone a negative review but this IS not what its represented as. It is pretty.....
Not clean at check-in!! Uncomfortable encounter with housekeeping! Poor resolution from management!
The condo was not clean at our 4:00 check-in time. The cleaning crew had just started. We had to awkwardly communicate with the cleaning crew through Google translate to let them know our plan. I could tell they felt just as awkward as I did. We had to leave our bags on one of the beds and quickly leave to go eat dinner. In what Iâm sure was a hurried attempt to clean, they missed spots of sand and trash from the previous guests. The cleaning crew made it seem as though they werenât notified of guests checking into the unit until the last minute that day.
Also, the coffee pot available in the room (which was listed in the unit description as an available kitchen appliance) did not work so I had to go buy a coffee pot, which I kindly left in the condo when we left.
When I informed the management company of these issues, all they offered me was an apology and a scolding on what I shouldâve done. I requested a partial refund totaling just $63.57 for the 2+ hours that we werenât able to use the condo past the agreed upon check in time and the coffee pot that I bought and kindly left to replace the broken one. I have yet to hear back from them regarding this requested refund.
I was very disappointed in how the situation was handled with lack of professionalism and no actual resolution.
We love splash, we have visited multiple times. This is the first time weâve used panhandle though. Check in was rough. After a 10 hr car ride with 6 people including a toddler, we arrived at 5:45, and the room had not been cleaned. Using the app we called the housekeeping manager. They came right up, but we had to leave and leave our stuff in the room. So, we grabbed our swimsuits and hit the beach. Two hrs later we had not it received a call to go back up so we just did. Room looked great, but bedding-blankets were missing, which they brought the next day while the babies were napping. The staff knocked, but I was in the shower, and my husband had gone to the store, my oldest (age 11) didnât feel comfortable opening the door... but the staff just came in anyways, which made me feel a little uncomfortable. They left the bedding in the hallway once they realize we were there in the room. Over all the stay was great. Kids had a blast. My only complaint was the common door code changed in the middle of our stay without warning or notice. My cell battery had died from all the videos/pics, I had 4 wet, cold and hungry kids stuck in a breezy hallway for an hr. We we called every number on the panhandle website from my husbands phone ( it was 8pm) but no answer. Maintenance, housekeeping, managers, staff, emergency needs, no answer. I didnât know what to do. After an hr I was able to retrieve a deleted email, load the app on my husbandâs phone, by a miracle remember my login info, my booking info, and found that the code had changed. If I wouldnât have I donât know how my family would got in the room that night? There were no staff onsite. We looked for the security guard that was usually by the pool at night and but could find no one. We had a wonderful time just some bumps. I will stay here again and again but I will have backups and more back ups to get in The room.
We enjoyed the resort and unit! The only negative I have is the elevator access during peak timesâŠthere was a long wait to get an elevator. Beautiful unit and beautiful beaches!
The condo was so nice and decorated beautifully. We had a perfect view of the ocean, with a great location to shops and restaurants. It was hard to find the unit at first, but the check in desk was very helpful. Check out was contactless and such a breeze! Will definitely book again!
condo great, facility chaos and needs more elevators
The condo and property owner were great. It needed a few minor repairs (door handles on both bathrooms) but otherwise very nice. Unfortunately, the splash facility is total chaos and needs just general cleaning. Halls, pool areas not clean even first thing in the morning (maybe understaffed like everyone else right now. BUT There are only 2 elevators for 20 floors and we waited on average 10 mins and as long as 20 minutes to get on an elevator. I'd be very concerned for elderly or handicapped patrons. If you go off season it would probably be fine. Lastly, we expected a more 'resort-like' atmosphere from the listing - it wasn't that at all.
Great room, but needs more privacy from adjacent hotel
The room and property were great. This is our 3rd year staying at Splash Resort through VRBO. This years room (801W-B) was a great size, massive main bedroom/bath, and everything was updated. Our only 2 complaints, which werenât a deal breaker was the fridge did not work the first 24 hours, resulting in some of the food spoiling, called maintenance and the following morning it was working well.
Also, there was a massive window in the main living area that did not have any curtain or any way for privacy, so the adjacent hotel rooms and balconies could see straight into our room at night with no way to prevent that. Overall, it was still a great stay.
I really wanted to love this unit, but there definitely were some issues. Typically, we find a place we like and stay there 2-3 times consecutively because it takes the stress out of booking condos. You definitely know what you are getting when you do that and donât run into as many issuesâin my experience. We were drawn to the splash resort because we do have a 14 month old and felt that some of the splash areas and indoor pools would be great to avoid sun part of the day.
So, as far as the condo, check in was great and easy and staff were very nice. It was a little difficult to find the unit due to the number on the sign being different from the listing (there was no âBâ, just 801) but we found it. When we went into the condo, it had not been cleaned at all.
I called Panhandle Getaways and they told me they would send someone up. I was pretty upset initially about the whole thing because we were tired, hungry, baby was hungry and the condo was an absolute mess. When the cleaning crew came, they were very rudeâwhich has nothing to do with Panhandle Getaways, but it was frustrating. They threw their hands up and asked what the problem was. Well, the problem should have been obvious considering the dirty towels and sand everywhere. The cleaning crew blamed Panhandle Getaways and Panhandle Getaways pretty much said that they technically had until 6:00PM to clean... it was literally 5:54PM.
They did try and make the best of the situation and we got the condo cleaned. When we came back from dinner, we were actually locked out. Which took another call and several minutes to get us back in. Which was also frustrating and didnât get us off to a good start.
Those were the major issues. After that we resolved, things went pretty well. I do think everything was addressed fairly quickly too.
My additional concerns are, these are the same issues that other guests have had in the past based on the reviews and I honestly felt like they would be remedied before our trip because they are little mishaps and surely these arenât ongoing issues but our experience seem to indicate otherwise because other people had these problems months ago and so did we. So there is definitely a lack of communication.
Smoke detectors were still off the walls, kitchen could use a deep clean, sheets didnt fit the bed in master so weren't even on the bed all the way, outlet covers for baby proofing, and a rocking chair or something to rock a baby would be nice
Had issues with getting into room (2 six digit codes to remember wasnât fun) computer hacked in wifi
The panhandle app would not work. So checking with three kids under ten was exhausting.
Not enough elevators for the number of people and rooms in building.
Had to remember to six digit door codes because our room had an extra door outside.
No hand or dish soap in facility. At least a sample would have been appropriate.
Not enough drinking cups provided in room. Only 3 total... two glass and one plastic.
TV guide wouldnât show any information so had to click through channels.
Our computers got malware on the provided WiFi for our room... had to call apple support to fix.
It was beautifully decorated but things seemed to wobble like the dining table and items were crooked all TVs.
Need curtains on the windows in dining area too.
The condo is very nice and felt very clean. Before arriving we saw several reviews about issues with the smoke detectors. When we arrived all of the smoke detectors had been pulled off of the walls and laid on the kitchen table. So, that was kind of an uneasy feeling.
The balcony is great and each room having their own balcony is also nice. The views are amazing and we saw dolphins each morning of our trip.
Keep in mind when visiting Splash that the condos beach access is also a public beach access and a favorite of lots of people. This made the beach extra crowded in this area. Also if you like to pop a canopy up on the beach there are two different sections of chairs and so itâs quite a walk to get to a side that you can set it up at. On our second day the common door code didnât work and we were locked out of access to our condo. Called the property managers and they had the issue fixed within 5 mins.
Overall, we were very pleased with the condo but probably wouldnât stay at Splash again, although that has nothing to do with this condo or the property managers in general. Having to small children and having to walk through an area not fenced in and right beside the street to get to the different pools made me feel a little uneasy.
A big thank you to this property manager for a great vacation. Would definitely use them again!
We were here for a baseball tournament. The room was great. Gave it a 4 for cleanliness because there was sand all in the floor. Everything else was great. Would definitely stay again.
We arrived at 7:15pm, check in was at 4:00. The cleaning people were still there cleaning, so we had to wait outside an additional 45 minutes. The dishes were dirty in the dishwasher. There was a pile of sand and dirt swept and left in a corner of the master and the guest bedroom. The countertops still had crumbs. The curtains could not be closed in the living room because they were falling off the wall. The couches were very dirty. Needs more silverware for a family.
I will never use this company again until they make this right
The experience I have had with this company is horrible. Months before going on our trip i left message explaining that i need to talk to someone so i can make payments on my rental. I only receive calls back when I left messages showing my displeasure with this company. The day I arrived I called to check in at 5 my room was not ready yet. This company had me and my family wait in the hall for 2 1/2 hour. While they cleaned and installed Tvs in my rental. During witch time my food that i brought spoiled. I called to voice my displeasure and spoke to someone named Jasmine. She offered me complimentary activities for my inconvenience. I told her I will call her back with my choice of activities that I want . I called her back no answer so I left a message my call was never returned. We'll come to find out the activities that she offered were free anyway. What a insult. Also during my stay the fire alarm in my rentals kept going off. I called and the person who answered the phone informed me to remove the batteries from the smoke detectors instead of sending someone to my room to fix them. I cannot express enough my displeasure with this company. Also I made a post on their Facebook page which they deleted along with someone else's.
Over all nice room now as for the panhandle getaways the property management group, they are very hard to get ahold of and when you do it will
Take them hours and many phone calls to get things done. Took us a hour to get into room because code they gave us didnât work and no one would answer phone. I finally got in touch to sit on Hold for a extended amount of time then get hung up on. We get into the unit and the fire alarm goes off and continues to for hours. Took multiple calls and call to manager for it to finally be fixed at 11 pm 6 hours later. My kids cried and couldnât go to sleep because it was sooo loud. The resort itâs self was very enjoyable and the kids had a blast.
When we checked in they only gave us ONE of the codes. We had to call back to get the other one. Our fire alarm kept going off in the room we called and they said they had the same problem with the last person who stayed and they would send someone up. No one ever showed up. The fire alarm kept going on and then Panhandle Getaways STOPPED answering. We left several voicemails and sent an email. We still HAVE NOT heard anything back.
The room looked exactly as pictured, beautiful decor and view. Room was clean and were were provided plenty of towels. We had a couple of minor issues such as missing TV remotes and a broken toilet seat, but that was addressed within hours of contacting the property manager. The kitchen was nice but could use a few more items such as baking sheets (we had to go buy one to cook a pizza). Regarding the resort overall, the pools were nice and the staff friendly. We did have some trouble finding our room due to lack of signage. Overall we were pleased with our stay and would recommend this property for couples or small families.
We have stayed at splash before and always enjoyed. However this room is the BEST we have had. The corner window was the highlight of the room. The decor was just beautiful. Panhandle getaways was easy to use and very friendly.... would book this exact room again. Thanks

Splash Resort's amenities are quite unique among Gulf Coast resorts with something for everyone. There is a heated swimming pool and Jacuzzi located right next to the main kids play area where the water slides and enormous bucket that dumps hundreds of gallons of water every 45 seconds are located. Enjoy a state of the art fitness facility overlooking the pool and lazy river along with the poolside Bar & Grill with tables by the pool and reasonably priced menu.
