Summary:
Villa Felice is a Lucca vacation rental situated near the village of Vorno at the foot of Mount Pisano. It was once home of the famous architect Felice Matteucci who lived here between 1808 and 1887. Matteucci invented the first striking engine (the prototype for the modern car) in his on-site laboratory. These days it's a beautiful 6 bedroom Lucca vacation rental and the perfect setting for wedding parties and events.

The Space:
This may be a historic villa but it's equipped with all the mod cons that guests could want. This includes WIFI, air conditioning, a centralised music system and satellite TV.

The price of this Lucca vacation rental includes a personal chef and housekeeper 6 days a week. The chef can prepare breakfast and either lunch or dinner each day (excluding Wednesdays). However, the cost of the food and drinks will be extra. This is charged at 15 euros per person for an Italian continental breakfast, 45 euros per person for a meat menu and 55 euros per person for a fish menu. A complimentary daily maid service 6 days a week (excluding Sundays) is also provided as is a complimentary concierge service.

The accommodation in this Lucca vacation rental is laid out over two floors. On the ground floor, there is an extremely spacious living area. This is furnished with plenty of comfortable sofas arranged around a TV and fireplace. Board games are provided for your enjoyment. Doors lead from here to the outside terrace.

There is also a well equipped kitchen on this floor. With a large central island, it's the perfect space for cookery lessons. There is a separate laundry room with washing machine and dryer as well as a fitness room and a bathroom with shower. The fitness room is equipped with an exercise bike, step machine and weight bench.

All six bedrooms at this Lucca vacation rental are on the first floor. All have queen size beds with the exception of one which has two single beds (although these can also be converted into a queen bed if preferred). If required, two rooms can also accommodate an extra bed for a small additional cost. All bedrooms have a private safe and are fully air conditioned. All have an ensuite bathroom too. All have showers but some of these bathrooms also have a bath tub.

Outside, this Lucca vacation rental is surrounded by olive groves, set in extensive parkland and with a large private lake. A charming wooden bridge leads over a small pond to a private island where mature trees provide shade. There is a beautiful swimming pool (14m x 4m and 1.8m deep) surrounded by sun loungers and deck chairs. A nearby terrace is furnished with outdoor table and chairs perfect for al fresco dining. There is a BBQ area nearby. On the opposite side of the pool is a romantic, jasmine covered gazebo, the perfect setting to enjoy an aperitivo whilst watching the sun set in the distance.

A short distance away there are two tennis courts which are shared with the guests staying at the three other villas nearby. They can also be converted into soccer and volleyball fields if preferred.

Please note that air conditioning, heating and electricity usage up to 750 KW is included in the price. Any usage above this amount client will be charged on departure based on consumption.

The Neighborhood:
This Lucca vacation rental is just 6 km from Lucca itself. Vorno is the closest village to this Lucca villa. This is 1.5 km away. It has a small supermarket and restaurant. Florence is 50 km away, Cinque Terre 60 km and Siena 80 km. For those who like the beach, the nearest beach is in Viareggio which is a 29 km drive from the house. The upmarket seaside resort of Forte dei Marmi is 39 km away.

There is plenty to see and do in the area. For those who enjoy walking, there are plenty of hiking trails around Pizzorne and Mount Pisano. There are also some beautiful nature reserves nearby to discover such as the Gherardesca lake and the WWF Bottaccio oasis. For those who prefer history, there are a number of historic villas nearby which you can enjoy tours of including Villa Bernardini and Villa Buonvisi. For those who just want to relax, there are also thermal baths nearby at San Giuliano Terme. For those who enjoy sport, there is a horse riding centre just a 10 minute drive away whilst there is a tennis and golf club just a 5 minute drive from the villa.
