Ridgehead Farm Cottages were created in 2008 by converting a 200 year old historic barn into 2 luxury cottages, Snipe and Curlew, they are both rated at the top end of 4 star by the tourist board. Set at 1500ft on a 80 acre equine farm within a site of Special Scientific Interest, they offer stunning views and year round peace and tranquillity yet are conveniently located for local amenities and exploring the Peak District. Each cottage has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and sleeps 4 so are perfect for families or couples, the 2 cottages can be booked together (10% discount) to sleep 8. With underfloor heating downstairs and in all bathrooms they provide a warm, cosy retreat at the end of the day.
EV charger now available for use of guests, has type 2 cable fitting most modern electric vehicles. Charging costs at domestic rates.

The best view of any cottage we’ve stayed in by far. Easy access to the towns of Leek and Buxton for essential needs. Staffordshire moorlands and Peak District on the doorstep for walking and sightseeing. Lovely, quiet cottage with good facilities and welcoming host.

What an amazing place to stay. The accommodation had everything we needed and was clean and welcoming and the views were on another level! The location was perfect for exploring the Peak District and we managed to fit so much into just 2 days. The host Jo was kind and helpful and we would definitely recommend staying here.

We stayed as a couple for a week and can wholeheartedly recommend. We wanted somewhere peaceful but also relatively accessible to other areas. Also where our dogs could stay and be walked. This property is set in a really lovely location/ clean/ tidy/ easy to find/ comfortable/ good walks nearby/ lots of local info in property/ all mod cons/ wildlife in abundance birds etc/ convenient dog walk from doorstep for furry friends. 10/10

Great cottage. Has everything you need from kitchen utensils to shower gel. Lovely enclosed courtyard garden for the dogs and an additional grass area infront of courtyard garden. Lovely hosts. Always there if needed but not intrusive at all. It was lovely to watch the horses being brought in in the morning and all the other animals. This cottage has definitely got the best view ive ever seen. I really didnt want to go home. Very sunny back garden

Lovely comfortable property, perfect for our needs. Great to have a separate loo downstairs in addition to the two bathrooms upstairs in our barn conversion (there appears to be another rental here). Well equipped and Jo was very friendly, helpful and advised on best places to go, eat and places to check out in the local area. Beautiful views and tranquil setting, enjoyed the sound of the cuckoo outside! Thanks for the wine and biscuits! Would love to stay again.

We had a lovely stay at Jo’s cottage. Very warm and welcoming despite the chilly february weather. We’d definitely come back! The cottage has everything you’d need and beautiful views of the countryside.

The property was perfect in every way, very spacious and well equipped with amazing views from the terrace . The property is very rural but not far from attractions and plenty of pubs/restaurants within a 10 minute drive. Jo the host was very welcoming and informative. A bonus was there is an EV charger at the property. We would highly recommend the property.

The toilets could have done with a clean, the window in the double bedroom kept flying open catch not working properly, under the sink needs a clean , and the oven . The host was spot on . All the animals were lovely. Beautiful setting and loved the geese that fly in . A view to die for. Thank you

We are replacing the window on Monday, we have been waiting for a space in the calendar to fit it in. Our water has a high iron content and can leave a mark on the porcelain, we make a very big effort to remove it. I would off been happy to explain.
