Michelle and Tim were perfect hosts, and provided a wonderful space in such a beautiful place. Thanks for making our week in the Peaks so comfortable and welcoming.
We travelled as a family of 4, two adults and two teenager girls. The cottage was perfect, a nice size and very well appointed. The rooms were all a good size, very clean and very tidy. Having 2 en-suites is great for families. The views are stunning and itâs position made for a very relaxing break. The owners were very friendly and full of local knowledge, the local pub was just a few hundred yards away too.
Highly recommended by all of the family.
Town End Barn is in a relaxing, peaceful location at the outskirts of the small village of Warslow. Hartington is a short drive away, there is plenty of walking on the doorstep and a local pub a 10-minute walk away.
It is a beautiful spot, set in gorgeous grounds, with plenty of outdoor seating and beautiful views. The owners' property is close by and help and recommendations happily given - thank you Michelle - but privacy is always respected.
The barn is clean and well equipped. The upstairs living room, accessed via a spiral staircase, is a particularly lovely space to relax. Comfortable and spacious. Its access (and the upstairs bedroom) is through the downstairs bedroom so the barn may not be appropriate for two couples.
The kitchen is well equipped, adjoined by a small dining area. Laundry and drying facilities in a well equipped utility room.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely part of the world and relaxing, comfortable barn.
I cannot say enough about our hosts! Michelle and Tim were both nearby and very friendly- among the most accommodating we've known. Thank you both for your kindness.
Town End Cottage (rightly named) provided everything we needed for an enjoyable stay plus privacy and views galore from the private garden!
The only down side we found was the spiral staircase, although I think the downside was our age. A person who finds staircases a challenge anyway can sometimes have more difficulty with spirals. That may just be me, but do keep it in mind if anyone in your party has that trouble as the sitting room is upstairs. That said, the difficulty never kept either of us from doing what we wanted to do.
By the same token we also found that we're a bit out of shape for the hiking the Peaks are famous for. However, driving through the Peaks and the shorter, less challenging walks were wonderful and made our stay all the more memorable.
Thank you again, Michelle and Tim. You have a beautiful spot on earth!

We stayed for 3 nights over New Year 2022. I stayed with my partner and 1 year old and it was so well suited for us. Michelle was amazing at communication, really quick responses etc and she asked where we would like the travel cot put up. She advised me on good places to eat and directions to local places. All very useful. In addition to this, there is lots of info in the cottage. The layout of the cottage is really good, as we found the open plan layout upstairs a great open space and actually think it would work well if staying with children.
We found the cottage cosy and well equipped however felt like a cosy blanket would have also been nice on the sofas. Apart from that, I think the cottage had everything you would need.
We loved the fire and spent our evenings playing games in front of it. It was very cosy. Michelle provides a bucket of logs, which did burn out very quickly and we did buy some more from the little grocery shop in Hartington to accommodate our three night stay.
Walks locally are great, it was very wet and muddy when we stayed so we didnât get very far from the cottage itself, however ventured down to the little bridge at the bottom of the field. We also explored Dovedale, and Wetton Mill on our travels.
We really enjoyed our stay and will hopefully return again sometime soon.
Lovely stay in a beautiful cottage, stunning area with amazing walks right on the doorstep Really appreciated the log burner, with fuel kindling and paper left ready for us. Also lovely to be left milk, biscuits cakes and treats!Thankyou Michelle Thankyou Michelle
Town end barn is a lovely holiday cottage. It is in a small village that is perfect for exploring the Manifold Valley and the hills of the southern peak district. The barn is clean, spacious and great for families. The setting is wonderful and weâd love to come back when the weather is warmer! Overall, a great stay. Thanks.
Beautiful barn conversion surrounded by immaculately kept stunning gardens with uninterrupted views of the rolling countryside. A sunny or shady spot for any time of the day. A number of walks from the doorstep. Everything you need to self cater and very clean. Village pub serving good food a 10 minute walk, but make sure you book! Upstairs lounge and bedroom has access to the kitchen through the downstairs twin bedroom. Everything very cosy and comfortable, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
Loved the cottage and the layout, the walks near by were amazing and the views were stunning. Our hosts Tim and Michelle were very welcoming on our arrival and very friendly.
Looking forward to our next stay in the Peak District.
The barn was beautifully furnished and spacious. The beds were so comfy. We had some lovely walks and when the rain came we sat in the living room with the cozy log burner on. Perfect.
Located this beautiful dwelling on the web,and sounded perfect.
Booking and communication was easy
On arrival ,it exceeded expectations in all requirements.
Spotlessly clean, perfect isolation, and only a short walk to a terrific pub with very friendly staff and locals
The barn has everything you need, uniqueness, room and good washing faculties with a good bathroom. The views were superb from the very grounds of the dwelling.
Negatives from it... absolutely NONE,

Roomy cottage in lovingly maintained gardens, surrounded by beautiful countryside and a myriad of great walks. We chose to cater for ourselves on each of our four nights as the kitchen was so well equipped. Michelle and Tim were superbly friendly and helpful both before our arrival and throughout our stay.
Our stay was just not long enough in this lovely barn conversion which is in easy driving distance of many of the Peak District trails and amenities. The barn had everything we needed including a cosy wood burner to warm us after our autumn walks and cycle rides. Tim our host was very helpful but our stay at the barn was still very secluded and private. We would recommend staying here.
We had a fabulous week staying here in Warslow - the barn was clean, comfortable and spacious.
One day we went for a walk on the Manifold trail that led right back to the barn garden, one day we cycled the Monsal Trail, another day we had a family rock climbing lesson by Burbage North, the walk from Monyash along Lathkill Dale was lovely (and the ice cream at Tagg Lane dairy was delicious). All in all we had a wonderful week. Thank you!
Great location, away from it all, which is exactly what we were looking for. The property was exceptionally clean and well equipped. Michelle responded to our requests in a timely manner. Lovely areas to sit outside and soak up the fresh air and views. Walks from the door and within close enough range for visits to NT Biddulph, The Potteries and the Cascade Gardens in addition to the usual Peak District countryside, villages and towns. Lovely property and area.
We enjoyed everything: the hosts being welcoming, helpful and almost âinvisibleâ; the breathtaking views at the step of our door - the blossoming immaculate garden around the house which extends into picturesque Peak District fields all the way to the horizon! WiFi was good, those of us who had work to do, did not complain. The nearby pub was good, a short walk away. Various hiking trails and tourist attractions were all a short drive away, plenty of walking could also be done with no car at all. The house is beautifully authentic, very well kept, sparkling clean, comfortable. The shower is great, bed is great! Washing machine and dryer help if you prefer to pack lightly. Overall, ideal for a family with two kids. May not work equally well for two couples due to to specific rooms layout, though also possible.
Tim was a great host, making our stay very enjoyable, with long beautiful walks and runs right from the front door and a good village pub not far away either ! Many thanks - enjoyed by all
.Owners Tim & Michelle have lived at Town End Farm for 15 years since they discovered the property whilst coming through the footpath whilst on a ramble. They fell in love with the farm and the village and have enjoyed the peace, the space and the Peak District ever since. They welcome visitors to the Barn and try to make sure that everyone who visits gets the best possible break whatever their interests are
