It was a great stay in a great location. The owner was great at answering all my questions and made the process easy, even helped us with our luggage into the place. Can walk most anywhere, many great food options and remarkably quite even though it is right on the plaza - the windows/doors do a great job with keeping sound out! Would definitely recommend this place, it made for a wonderful few days in Salamanca, a beautiful city.
Absolutely wonderful apartment. Recently updated, a very nice host, and so close to everything. The balcony was great for enjoying a bottle of wine after dinner, and it was great for people-watching. We had every lunch and dinner in Plaza Mayor, and the magic was watching the Plaza light up after sunset. The only drawback is you'll be woken up at 3am by drunk walking through the plaza, but the advantages FAR outweigh the occasional louod drunk.
This apartment was the perfect place for us to stay while visiting our daughter, who is studying at the university. The balcony overlooking the square provided ample people watching. The windows are quite soundproof; we slept in the back bedroom and it was very quiet. The kitchen was well equipped, and the washer was very welcome after a week walking on the Camino de Santiago. There isnât any air conditioning, but the apartment stayed quite comfortable, even with daytime highs of 32 C / 90 F. Simply close the windows and shutters during the heat of the day, and open them when it is cooler. We would love to stay here again the next time we are in Salamanca.
The property is located on the plaza mayor. Due to this, the location is excellent for exploring the historic city, but I was told by the host that bc of restrictions on the plaza, this apartment (as well as all others in the plaza) cannot have AC. During high summer, it is very difficult to sleep without AC after the heat of the day so I would not recommend this apartment for summer travel. Fans are provided but they were not enough to be comfortable. We are from Texas so I dont say this without experience with heat!
