Newly renovated village cottage with stunning countryside views
Cosy cottage located in the picturesque village of Grindleford in the Peak District National Park. The house has wonderful views to the rear with a summerhouse to enjoy the sun throughout the day. The house is in a great location for Walking and cycling or just relaxing if you prefer. Newly renovated to a high standard whilst maintaining its cottage charm and dog friendly so you can bring your best friend along with you.
There are amazing walks on the doorstep with the likes of Padley Gorge, The Longshaw estate or along the river to Hathersage and beyond. The village also has a train station with good links to all the surrounding villages for an even greater selection of walks or on to Sheffield and Manchester if you prefer to see the nearby cities. Also just a short drive to Chatsworth House and many other local attractions.
Grindleford also offers a couple of places to eat out with a local pub and hotel restuarant offering various options.

We enjoyed our time in Grindelford. This cottage was clean and well-maintained to a high standard. The garden was great for our dog, and the summer house looked lovely, though we didn't use it during our stay. It is a tight, small space, but suited our needs well. It was close to so many things, and parking was easy.
Lovely village location with plenty of roadside parking outside. Communication with the property manager was good and plenty of information was provided in advance. Getting into the property was easy. The cottage has been thoughtfully designed and decorated. The kitchen is tiny but best use has been made of the space. The garden looked lovely and if it had been warmer, I can imagine we'd have used it quite a bit. The welcome pack was very basic and limited. We'd have preferred there to have been a proper caddy of tea, coffee, etc rather than a small number of individual sachets. It felt like a hotel welcome pack, not a home from home. The dog welcome pack looked better, although we weren't staying with a dog. There was no cooking oil as stated in the info pack and a very limited supply of two logs and a few bits of kindling for the logburner. A few more logs would have been appreciated. The beds were comfortable and the bedding good quality. We slept really well. We liked the artworks around the house, too. Overall, a warm and comfortable stay that gave us easy access to the Maynard's for a family wedding and to different hiking routes.
The house is ideal and well thought out. Only suggestion if you are staying here would be to take logs and kindling with you on arrival as only 2 are provided. In addition take toilet rolls, as there was only half of one on arrival. Livkily we took logs, kindling, firefighters and toilet roll with us. It would also be nice if an ash bucket could be provided by the owner.
A lovely little cottage that has quality fittings, obviously a lot of thought put in. Comfy beds, lovely shower, quality towels. The only things I would point out is that there is building works at the back of the property that has been going on for some time and will be continuing - they start at 06:47 every work morning! This should be declared. Bear in mind, this is a busy main road and keep close hold of your children or pets. And I feel something should be done about the protruding cupboard in the very small kitchen - at head height - I banged my head on it 5 times! Just a shame about these last few points.
A very comfortable if compact cottage, in which we really enjoyed having a short break at the end of May. The kitchen and dining area are quite tight, but the garden and summerhouse are a real bonus. Cottage very nicely furnished and presented and much to be recommended. Lovely wildlife garden next door with very friendly neighbour!
Well presented property, nice garden at the back.Well designed for a small property, compact downstairs, kitchen small, ok to do basic food prep.Nice to have 2 bathrooms.Welcoming for dogs, with a bed etc provided- nice touch..Only downside was the noise from the road which canât be helped.
The cottage is cosy with everything you could need. Bedrooms were lovely with lots of storage space. Loved the log fire and garden with views over the trees. Really great to be able to let the dogs out. Summerhouse was fantastic although we didnât get much use of it as quite cold. Really nice area with local walks.
Quirky little cottage. Lovely views, very comfortable. Would have liked more information about the local area before the day before arrival.
Enclosed garden. Perfect for our small dog.
