Based in Eyam, known to all as the Plague Village, Three Bears Cottage is the perfect spot to learn about the courage & self sacrifice of a community in 1665 who self isolated to make sure the plague did not spread across the North of England, after it had ravaged London. Today you can explore the history in Eyam museum, visit Eyam Hall with its craft shops, bars & restaurants or just enjoy breathtaking views walking around the village. You can even discover a secret waterfall! Close by are the Blue John caverns at Castleton, the magnificent Chatsworth House & gardens, Haddon & Hardwick Halls, Buxton, Bakewell, Matlock, Crich Tramway museum, The Peak Rail, Tissington & Monsal trails.
The cottage comprises of a lounge, two bedrooms (one double & one twin) and a shower room. There is an aga, which keeps it warm and cosy all year round, a microwave, wood burning stove, TV and lots of information about what to see and do in the peak. Outside there is a private paved seating area.
