Depuis plus de 70 ans, notre famille est propriétaire du chalet de Mom and Pop. Réputé pour être le premier domicile de Honest Point. le chalet est la quintessence d'une vie simple et détendue. La maison a été rénovée et mise à niveau pour les clients il y a environ 8 ans et nous continuons à ajouter des améliorations au fur et à mesure des besoins.

Le chalet de Mom and Pop est situé en eau profonde et possède une petite plage. Le rivage descend lentement offrant aux petits enfants des endroits sûrs pour jouer dans l'eau. Les 25 acres environnants offrent de nombreuses possibilités aux enfants et aux animaux de se promener

L'intérieur comprend une cuisine équipée, deux chambres, (un lit queen dans une, 2 doubles dans l'autre), une salle de bain avec douche, un espace bureau et deux vérandas grillagées.

La maison est située dans la région historique de Northern Neck en Virginie. Profitez du crabe, de la pêche, du canotage, du kayak, des visites de vignobles et des maisons historiques de George Washington, Robert E Lee et James Monroe.

Si vous préférez la faune plutôt que la vie nocturne, c'est l'endroit qu'il vous faut. Réveillez-vous chaque matin avec des aigles, des oies, des hérons et des crabiers locaux pêchant dans leurs pots. Ceci est un endroit rural calme avec beaucoup de superficie qui vous donnera la chance de vous éloigner de l'agitation et du stress de la ville. La plupart des commodités sont accessibles en 30 minutes.

Une note pour ceux de la ville - nous vivons dans une région où les "bestioles" sont une réalité de la vie. Certains d'entre eux sont un plaisir à voir et certains sont une nuisance. Nous mettons tout en œuvre pour accentuer le positif et éliminer les bestioles négatives que vous pourriez rencontrer.

Spectacular views

The cottage is charming, clean and well stocked. There is a small sandy beach, which is nice. Great area for boating. The host was easy to work with and responsive. And the views are stunning. Had a great trip.

Wonderful Cottage on the Water

Wonderful pet friendly cottage on the water. Very relaxing location and the screened in porches were a great plus to help stimulate our dogs during the heat of the day. The cottage was stocked with almost anything you could think of including common condiments. Nancy also accommodated a change of dates for us as well without an issue.

Very good experience, my son enjoyed the beach to the fullest, my wife and I enjoyed the panoramic view, the crabs, the blue crab and the fishing. A very good experience with tranquility and peace. 2 Week Stay 9/14 - 9/28/2024

We loved the house and the location being fairly remote yet amenities nearby to fill our needs. We are very familiar with the area but were new to this particular house. The 2 dogs loved the beach area and the big yard to run around. Kitchen was well equipped, and I even made grape jelly during our stay. We loved the two screened in porches as they were lovely when the weather was rainy. We will likely rent again in the future.

Beautiful place to relax

If I could own a river house, I would want it to be just like this one, beautiful and peaceful views, quaint and charming inside, a two great screened in porches, where we spent most of our time. Perfect 3-week stay -- great for kids!

We stayed at Mom and Pop’s cottage for 3 weeks this past August and it was wonderful! Our hosts were very hospitable and we had everything we needed for a relaxing vacation. The house and surrounding area is great for kids (our 3 year old LOVED the private beach). We highly recommend choosing the cottage if you’re looking for a remote escape with a beautiful view - and you must try the crabs!

Quaint and Relaxing

The house was just perfect for our stay and included all the amenities we needed. The owner’s attention to detail was fantastic. We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen, eating on the screened porch, and exploring the area. Lots of great roads for biking and little wineries for tasting. We also enjoyed a fabulous dinner at Relish Saturday night and a couple of low-key meals at Backdraft, including lunch and NFL football on Sunday. Thank you for providing the perfect little rental for visitors to the area.

The perfect Northern Neck experience

This is a charming historic and comfortable property on the water with gracious hosts. The cottage is beautifully furnished with antiques. The fresh flowers were a bonus. We had everything we needed to make one gourmet meal after another, including a brand new gas grill, and elegant cocktail glasses. We even heard a migrating loon one evening. What a wonderful weekend!

Wonderful view and dog-friendly yard

Secluded location in a serene setting with a great river view. Our dog loved the yard and making friends with Dougie. Dated kitchen, only one bath with cramped shower but sufficiently accommodating. Mattresses on double beds too soft for our comfort. Found "hard zones" for individual sleeping our second night.

Reliving Childhood Memories

Callao and this property are a return to the "beach" experience of our youth. Both the property and setting harken back to the beauty of the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries before the birth of condos and highly populated beach areas with strip malls and amusement parks. The screened porch with its beautiful views of the Coan River is a wonderful place to have coffee, eat meals and watch both sunrises and sunsets. If you enjoy looking at the water and being in a rustic cottage, this is a great place!±

Nice little cottage

This property is a nice little no frills cottage. Owners were very quick to respond. For us, with kids that love to swim, we were most disappointed by the jellyfish. Both my kiddos were stung in the first few minutes in the water and therefore were scared to swim the remainder of the trip. We realize this is not the owners fault, but we wish we would have known before booking. Otherwise, cute small cottage with great screened in porches and a great view of the water.

Nice House

We loved the house. I was a bit mislead about 20 acres to walk around when there was a family living next door. Each day someone showed up to go into the garage. The gentleman from next door came with his small children and his two dogs on two occasions. I had my older dog with us and she wasn’t crazy about the younger energetic dogs who roamed the property. It would have been good to have known about the neighborly pups before we were surprized by then standing at the porch door barking at my dog

Absolutely wonderful cottage

I don't think I could encompass what a wonderful stay we had in one short review. The description and overview of the property is straight forward and provides great detail, including the uniqueness of this rental. The cottage itself is nestled under towering, giant, pines, and dense green foliage. Creating a level of privacy and comfort, even though there is another house nearby, you still feel like you're in an enchanted little forest. The interior of the cottage is well maintained with attention paid to the lovely historic aspects of what I can only imagine is an original Northern Neck river front home. From the built-in to the vintage sconces, original flooring and pine cabinets. The cottage is also immaculate. We travel with our dogs A LOT, and we have never stayed at a pet friendly rental that was so clean and well maintained! You can tell immediately that this property is close to the heart of the owners as you're greeted by a photo of Mom and Pop, next to binder full of valuable information for your stay. The owners are very responsive and kind. The private beach is it's own little oasis and the water is shallow and perfect for kids or dogs. The views from the screened in porch are breathtaking. We will be back!!

Quiet and relaxing

There were three of us, two adults and a four year old. The four year old thoroughly enjoyed the sandy beach area. The water was warm and very shallow even with the tide in. We spent most of our time playing in the water We enjoyed our meals sitting in the screened in porch looking out towards the water. Bring bug spray. We are sensitive to bugs bites. We applied spray each evening, even when on the screened in porch. We did a nice kayak outing using the rental place in Kinsale. There is a second property but it felt far enough away that there was privacy. Owners were very responsive to our questions.

Waterfront home

What a wonderful secluded home! If you are looking for a quiet property that is waterfront (bonus) this is for you! Lovely 2 screened in porches - and pretty spacious bedrooms. We loved this property and hopefully we will be able to visit again soon, and they allow dogs (another bonus)! Owner was very helpful, house was clean, well stocked kitchen.

Nice little spot. Didn’t realize there was another house so close on the property. Still had a great time. Hosts left us a bottle of wine and some snacks which was very nice.

Great quiet getaway

We have stayed at this property twice and just love it. If you are looking for a busy, go-go vacation, this isn't the place! If you are looking for a great place for a quiet getaway with beautiful views, then this is for you!

Loveliness in Lottsburg, VA

Our family of 5 very much enjoyed the property and accommodations in the Lottsburg Country Cottage. It offered an opportunity to relax and enjoy the river, although weather was not suitable for water related activities. We will certainly be back to enjoy all this property has to offer.

Cozy river front house

When I read the last review of this house I wondered if I should rent Nancy's house. As I read all of the other reviews, I decided that it sounded like the place for me. Nancy was a great hostess and very responsive to my e-mail questions about her house. When I arrived she provided a bottle of wine and flowers. The cottage is spacious and immaculately clean. The kitchen is well-equipped which was important as I enjoy cooking. From the screened-in porch you can watch waterfowl and boats on the river. As it was winter, I did not go in the water but enjoyed walking by the river. There are a number of antique stores in the area if you enjoy browsing. I highly recommend this cottage and look forward to visiting again.

Mouse House

Property looks tired. Stains on ceiling, a lot of chipped paint, pine needles in gutters, trash around shed, etc. Then there was the very much alive mouse I saw. Property owners were aware the house had mice. Property manager came and put a glue trap amid the pots and pans. So I can not recommend this property unless you enjoy sharing space with rodents and washing everything in the kitchen before you use it. I don't, so I left.

Great family getaway!

We loved our trip to Lottsburg - great little beach and we saw tons of fish, jellyfish, and even a river shark! Perfect birthday getaway weekend for our family of four.

The views from this house stretch all the way to Maryland. This house was my husband's grandparent's home and is the oldest house on Honest Point, dating from the early 1900s. It is comfortable and homey.
