We all enjoyed staying at Fox Fire. Was nice and enjoyable to just sit outside around the campfire and enjoyed the hot tub as well. Would recommend to anyone one looking to get away from everything and just enjoy being with the family. Cabin was spacious and very nice.
The cabin is wonderful with quality throughout from the bathrooms, bedding, indoor and outdoor furniture, appliances to even the smallest detail like the hand soap. The location is close to shopping, restaurants and activities. The bar has been set highâŠnow to see if itâs just as great the next stay!
This property is very centrally located. Hiking trails were about 20 minutes away and we were also close to other activities and local shopping. The property was exactly what we were expecting and the amenities were really great to enjoy. We were able to have multiple campfires and enjoyed the hot tub. We would absolutely come back to this property again.
The cabin was so nice, everyone loved it! It was clean and updated. The beds were comfortable and the location is perfect, 7-10 min to Old Man's cave and the local winery which is exactly what we wanted. I had a few questions before our stay and the folks at Edwards Realty were very responsive and helpful. Would absolutely recommend and book this cabin for myself again in the future!
Overall good besides the TV on the deck is broken, the hot tub cover lift is installed wrong so it doesn't work, and the remote was dead in the main living area. Very nice and large space overall. Would stay again!
Cabin is big and clean and in a nice secluded location!! Had the nicest weekend!!
We really enjoyed our long weekend at Foxfire. Three families, six adults and seven kids, and we all fit perfectly and never felt crowded. Cabin had everything we needed, plus a tv outside at the hot tub which is totally fun! We were in a great location for getting to the surrounding parks to go for hikes. The property has a nice fire pit area for the kids to run around and to build a fire, there's even a hammock, we lucked out with really delightful weather (in February??!!) so we were able to enjoy that as well. Overall a really swell cabin. Hope to return again next year!!
The floor of the house left my white socks very dirty. Also the lighting of the house is not good, no dinner table lights, no lights over the pool table making it useless.
The place was nice and the location is really good for what we wanted to do! Lots of room and accessible to a lot of different options.
The downer was the jacuzzi and the pool table, 2 things we wanted to take advantage of while there. The jacuzzi is old and the jets only worked 1 of the 4 seats. The pool sticks were all old and had no tips so you couldnât even hit the balls. Bummer!
This place was good. A couple of things would make it great. We loved the huge hot tub and the firepit. But didnât like drinking wine out of Ball jar glasses. Good grill but no steak knives. Upstairs bedroom has a king bed and great bathroom but no closet or dresser to put clothes in. One bedroom on the main floor appeared to have mouse droppings in the corner of the closet.
My husband and I stayed here with our three kids and had a blast! The cabin was clean and exactly as described. There was a rainstorm one day and power went out. I notified the property manger and they promptly called the electric company and called me back with an update! Itâs close to Hocking Hills and town (in case you forget to pack something like I did!) The only small issue we had was the first night we picked up take and bake pizza for dinner, but there werenât any sheet pans or pizza pans to cook it on. We made it work though! Definitely plan to stay again sometime!
Overall enjoyed property. Definitely not for senior citizens. Short on hand rails and safety bars.
Location of property was great . Functionality of property was good. Lots of smaller complaints. A/C was not balanced over three levels. Ice maker did not work. Only one hair dryer for three bathrooms. No chairs for fire pit. Etc.
Overall this is a nice property with plenty of space and amenities for the family. I donât think itâs a bad choice for the Hocking Hills area. There were some minor maintenance things that we wish we didn't have to be concerned with. It seems like they get lots of guests going through every week and donât inspect the property regularly to ensure everything is in working order. Also, we werenât able to easily get in touch with the property owner. Net itâs ok to book but donât expect perfection.
The location was pleasant and convenient to everything. Foxfire should not be advertised as accommodating 14 people. There were 11 dinner plates, 13 forks, and frying pans & pots not suitable for cooking for a large group. The main floor couch is so broken that only 2-3 people could comfortably sit on it. Fortunately we had good weather and spent time on the deck but that only had 7 chairs. There is also a severe shortage of towel bars and hooks for reusing towels. Bathrooms were very nice except for that. The top shelf of dishwasher is broken and with limited dinnerware frequent running of the dishwasher is required. Notifed management but it was not replaced during our stay. When hot tub wouldn't work after a power surge, texted maintenance @ 9:30 am. Had to call management company six hours later to finally get it fixed.
The rent here was premium without premium amenities.

We went to enjoy each other's company - and that we got to do. We were slightly disappointed in a few things though. the shower in the Master Bedroom (upstairs) did not close all the way and there was a piece of trim that was coming down near the sink. The couch in the upstairs loft area was so worn that you could see the white material that is underneath the leather. The hot tub control panel was blank (all of the writing had worn off) and there are no covers over the areas at the bottom of the tub where the water is pulled through - two individuals in our party had their heels sucked up in to the tube. We were able to pull their heels out without injury but scary all the same. And lastly, the TV out by the hot tub did not work correctly. When we first turned it on there was a section of lines that ran vertically and did not show the picture. After about 5 minutes it went away and we didn't worry about it - until we were watching the final game of the world series and not only did the lines come back but it froze and you couldn't watch anything.
I know this may seem like a lot of complaining - but over all it was a wonderful weekend and we are truly grateful to have been able to go.
Everyone in our group works in the non profit world in our community and that can often times be very stressfull - this was a great way for us all to relax and refocus - thank you!
Overall we found the cabin nice - beautiful location, new and updated and generally as advertised.
A big area of concern for me is in the lack of "warmth." What I mean by that is that other reviews have noted, the communication leading up to the stay is very harsh to the point of unwelcoming. I was not treated as a welcomed guest but rather unwelcomed, with receiving many lists of "do's" and "do nots." I have stayed at many rental properties and this is the first time I have received this kind of treatment. With every subsequent email of harshly worded rules and requirements (there were several) I felt more and more unwelcomed to the point of being reluctant and anxious for the vacation, which was a big bummer. It is also bare bones in terms of being stocked (I think we had approximately 10 sheets of toilet paper in the whole place!) so plan accordingly. There's a huge opportunity for an improved customer experience with all of this.
As far as the property itself - we had some issues upon arrival (broken DVD player, non functioning internet, broken fireplace) that I spent several hours Friday evening attempting to get someone on the phone to help us with. The person I spoke with said that he was only an answering service and suggested that I keep calling another number until someone picked up - which took a while. Would have been nice if that individual could have taken some ownership instead of making this my problem. With a short weekend only stay it was such a bummer to spend so much of it attempting to get someone to answer the phone to help troubleshoot. Someone finally arrived at 10p to look at fireplace and it was fixed the next morning but with only two nights stay it would have been nice to have the fireplace working the entire time. The DVD player wasn't addressed and the internet finally started working but it was frustrating.
The last thing I would say, as others have noted, is the couch is TERRIBLE. It's broken in many places, bars in your back while sitting, uneven, ripped pleather. Really in bad need of replacement- we didn't spend much time on it due to how much it hurt our backs (and we're a group of 30 somethings in good physical shape).
