Bungalow on the Bayou - Cottage on Big Star Lake

Bungalow on the Bayou is the perfect destination for your stay in Northern Michigan. Nestled directly on the bayou of Big Star Lake, which is an all sports lake, offering great fishing, boating and swimming. This open loft style home boasts panoramic views of the Big Star Lake Bayou through the large picture windows. You won't miss out on the beautiful sunsets from the large deck overlooking the lake! Spend time making memories around the fire or grilling on the deck after a fun filled day on the lake. This property is located just 45 minutes to the nearest Lake Michigan access point and Downtown Ludington area, where you will find many great restaurants, shops and events.

Bungalow on the Bayou is fully equipped with everything you need to enjoy your stay, including a fully equipped kitchen, linens, a washer/dryer and sleeping for up to 8 guests.
Air conditioning is provided by the use of two window units and the use of a dehumidifier.
Includes a private dock for your boat.
Available for use: 1 tandem kayak, 1 single kayak, two paddle boards, and a row boat. Includes paddles and life jackets
No parties or large events
Pets not allowed
Minimum age of 25 for primary renters

NOTE: The bayou frontage is not suitable for swimming but is perfect for docking your boat. However, there are lots of great swimming areas accessible by boat!

Wonderful home on beautiful Big Star. House was clean with everything you need for a fun family weekend away. We were able to put our boat in the water and leave it in for the weekend. The driveway and parking was able to accommodate boat trailer and multtiple vehicles.

Relaxing and peaceful!

We were very impressed with the cleanliness and beauty of this property. The beds were very comfortable and the master bedroom was huge! It's location provides a quiet, peaceful outdoor experience. Easy check in/out and good communication with any questions. We would definitely stay here again.

The perfect mini vacation spot!

We had an incredible stay at this beautiful cabin! It was cozy and welcoming, and the location was perfect for my entire family to fish, kayak and enjoy the lake view. Everything was clean and well-maintained, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The property manager was incredibly helpful with answering any of our questions and when our wifi went out, she made sure that the rest of our stay went without a hitch. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing lake getaway!

loved it

we had a great time,kids loved fishing off the pier. Two kids loved to kayak around the Bayou,was a good workout and they couldn't get lost. Very quiet during the week,no neighbors at all. House was beautiful and spacious and beds were real comfortable. We enjoyed our stay.Thank for a great vacation!!

Wonderful Cottage

This cottage was perfect for our family of 7. A great play area for the kids. Beautiful home, cozy and spacious. We all enjoyed the water and fire pit. No swimming access so we drove to Ludington for a day of shopping and swimming at the state park. Well worth the hour drive. Definitely would stay here again!

The layout was great for our family, beds were comfortable. Kitchen had everything you need. Water is very hard and orange. Not very convenient access to the lake, no place to swim. No bugs A. Goose poop everywhere by the water.

Excellent family getaway

We were all very impressed with the house, the property, and all of the amenities. Kitchen was stocked very well. The lake was excellent for kayaks. The fire pit was a big hit also. We had a fire every night and had plenty of wood. The outdoor shower was very useful too. The only thing I might add is another bathroom.

Loved our stay. We docked our large pontoon Easily. Very sandy and clean Lake. Great fishing. Just remember your beach towels. They have EVERYTHING else and some. Love the personalized rooms. Very sweet!! Thank you for being apart of our memories!!!

Short get away!

We wanted a quick get away with in a few hours of home. The home was awesome and the bayou added a special time for all of us. There was so much wildlife right in front for us to enjoy. From beavers, cranes, bald eagles and a chorus of frogs everynight it was an exceptional weekend. And our kids loved the samores provided by the home owners. Thank you!

Lovely Lake Home

Clean and spacious home, with a beautiful view of the bayou. We enjoyed fishing, kayaking, and paddle boarding and appreciated the quietness. We took day trips to Mears, Pentwater, and Ludington, with Ludington being our favorite. The house includes a detailed folder of recommendations and attractions, a large enclosed garage, and a great collection of videos and books, as well as smart TV, internet, games, and even toys. The location is remote, so be ready to drive 45 min for a nice restaurant. An excellent value!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This property worked perfectly for our needs. It was very clean and near the friends we were visiting. Over all it was very nice, but the bed in the second bed room needs to be a conventional bed the wooden fram makes it difficult for older guests.
