Dans le quartier de La Jolla Shores, cette maison de vacances se trouve Ă moins de 15 minutes de marche de Plage de La Jolla et University of California-San Diego.La Jolla Cove (plage) est Ă 2,1 km de distance.
Great location to the beach and dining, the two twin beds in the 2nd bedroom was great for the kids. Kitchen had just about everything we needed and the picnic table outside was nice to eat at. Family room for TV time was comfortable also. The host was great at communication and even let us know the bathroom drains weren't working so well and he was going to remodel the bathroom in October of 2025 and get all new drains in. This was great because the shower drain was a problem for us, pretty smelly and gross, so glad future guests won't have that issue.Neighborhood was quiet despite being so close to everything, kept the windows open in July and was nice and quiet. It does have window AC units in the living room and the back bedroom. The windows and window treatments are pretty old school and hard to open and close. However we understood with this vintage of a home. We'd stay there again and probably will next summer.
We had a wonderful stay and would happily book it again. The house is an easy and short walk to the beach. There was a playground on the beach where we spent many happy hours. Beach chairs, buckets, and towels were all provided, and we generally found everything we needed. John was very responsive and helpful throughout our stay. He generously offered us an early check-in and even a late check out. Check in was seamless and check-out instructions were the least complicated of any place weâve ever stayed. We look forward to returning!
We had a wonderful 5-day/4-night stay. Everything was as shown in listing. Location was perfect a 1/2 block to restaurants and market, 1.5 blocks to the beach! Beds were comfy, A/C worked great, kitchen was stocked. Weâd 100% stay here again on our next visit. Thank you!!
Johnâs place was in a great location! Super close to restaurants and beach. Everything was clean and it had everything we needed for a quick getaway.
Johnâs place was great. It had everything we needed for a week at the beach with the kids. The location is perfect. Nice and quiet and private, while only steps from great restaurants and the beach. We would definitely stay again!!
I had a great time. The location was perfect and the house was spotless. The host was very accomodating. Beds were comfortable and we so close to some great restaurants and the beach.
Very clean, cute decorations, and thoughtful touches throughout the cottage. A lot of privacy too! Can be warm but the owner provided several small fans. We love being so close to the beach and restaurants! We will definitely rent again!
I was pleased to return to this comfortable, convenient rental for a recent business trip to San Diego. It's a great value for a week-long stay, and John, the owner, is accessible, friendly, and responsive. I'll be back!
This trip was enjoyable from start to finish! John was a pleasure to work with and he was so accommodating. We stayed here with our 2 small children, the house was beautiful and had everything we needed. It was so. Wonderful to have restaurants and the beach just a short walk away. Looking forward to staying here again next time we visit!
We had a great stay in this wonderful property in La Jolla Shores! The home was roomy, clean, & beautifully decorated. We absolutely loved the private outdoor spaces & spent plenty of time reading & relaxing in the beautiful courtyard! The home was close to lots of shops & restaurants and only a couple of blocks from the beautiful beach. John was super responsive & easy to work with & we'll definitely be back!
Perfect place for a visit to San Diego. Our kids took a week of surf lessons at La Jolla Shores beach and could walk there on their own. Unit was exactly as advertised, and parking spot was not that difficult to get in and out of. The unit was clean and perfectly met our needs - so close to a bunch of good restaurants. The walled in outdoor spaces were lovely, The only small negatives were no a/c in the 2nd bedroom (just a fan, but would get cool if door left open) and the bathroom could use some updating. Would not hesitate to recommend!
This property is in a safe neighborhood, close to shopping, dining, and the beach. The beds are comfortable, the property had all the supplies we needed, and we enjoyed the private patio. Our vehicle didn't fit in the garage (FJ Cruiser with surfboards loaded on top) and the driveway was too narrow for parking without blocking garage access for the other side of the duplex, but we had no problem finding parking on the street. Definitely would recommend this property, and we'll keep it in mind for future stays!
The duplex is cute and charming and in a great location. Thereâs a long narrow driveway and a shared garage space available however we were unable to use it since the other renter had a large SUV that didnât allow enough space to get by. We asked the manager, John, for assistance, however the other tenant wouldnât compromise so we had to search for street parking in a popular beach location. I think a more accurate description of the parking feature would be âtandem parkingâ.The sheets in the master bedroom were sandy as was the bathroom mat. Iâd recommend replacing the shower head as itâs too low in height. Iâd also recommend adding a few sauce pans as there were only 2 big pots to cook in.
What we appreciated most was being so close to the bustling restaurant area and the beach, yet the property was so so peaceful. There is a private rear deck/ patio with really tall shrubs on on one side, and seating. We ate our breakfast there most mornings ( take out from Brick and Bell) and watched hummingbirds, and our daughter worked on her laptop in the private front yard ( while connected to the house wifi). We had never been to San Diego before and after we got here and explored La Jolla vs LaJolla Shores, I was so happy we ended up in La Jolla Shores. This was a great home base for day trips. Also, if you planning to go on a kayak tour, you cannot beat this location.
The owner was very responsive to my questions and we hope to return some day.
House was very conveniently located for walking to the beach and/or restaurants for dining out. Indoor and outdoor space was neat and clean. appreciated the hose out front for extra rinsing off of sandy children after a day at the beach. Kitchen was stocked with all basic essentials. Plenty of towels. we appreciated the beach wagon and buggie boards as well. in home washer and dryer was also essential for a week long stay. my only recommendatiosn would be to add a bath mat to the bathroom and maybe a swifter to the cleaning closet. as neat as we try to be, kids sometimes just accumulate crumbs. would/will definitely stay again
Look elsewhere. Dirty. Not well equipped. Read full review.
We cut our stay 6 days short at this property after 24 hours and moved to another location. The property is dirty. Sleeping pillows have stains all over them. Take the cases off and check. Sleeping blankets were dirty and stained. Bathroom sink backflows with dirty water when other water sources are on. The location is great, and that is why I am guessing this has so many high-star reviews. I contacted the owner to address some items and our desire to leave early. He was very rude and dismissive of the issues and told me I was being unreasonable (that the pillows and blankets were stained and dirty - many pillows didn't even have pillowcases). Open outlets not covered in the kids room with exposed wires, entire place needs a deep cleaning. You can tell this has been rented hard. If you are just going for a "cheap" place to stay this is a good fit for you. If you want something of some level of quality. Look elsewhere. I have never shorted a vacation rental stay ever and I am in the hospitality/vacation rental business - I am not leaving an unjust review on this. Trying to save another family from needing to find new accommodations. If you book this location, ask the owner if he has replaced pillows, washed comforters, blankets, etc.
Another great stay at La Jolla Shores Beqch Cottage- great location, easy access to water sports and lots of dining options in a great walkable neighborhood. Clean, cute beach cottage with accurate listing. The hosts are great communicators and very responsive.
The place to stay when in San Diego! We enjoyed the quiet beach cottage which is only around the corner from any time of food and/or drink establishment. Two blocks from the beach and a great walk able neighborhood makes this a place we would come back to.
Great location, comfortable. Met our needs perfectly. Only concern was parking. It's tight access so if you have a larger car (we do) it's a bit of a challenge. The overall experience was great and it being walking distance to the beach and bars and restaurants was very nice.
We loved staying at this cute little La Jolla house. It was well equipped and had everything we needed. This was our first time visiting San Diego and we loved the area so much, we spent much of our time in the area. We saw the seals at the Children's Beach, did a Kayak tour in the La Jolla Cove (walked there), and watched sunsets on the beach (walked). It was chilly for our visit but we were warm and cozy in the house. We took advantage of the kitchen, making small meals and laundry, as this was part 2 of a longer trip. John, the owner was a pleasure to interact with and always responded right away. We would definitely stay here again!
We had a great stay visiting our daughter at college. The house was a great escape for her for the weekend and she even got her laundry done. We enjoyed tidal pooling and checking out the beach during the king tide. The neighborhood was very quiet this time of year and great for morning walks. We cooked meals and the kitchen was supplied with the all necessary equipment and some essentials like salt pepper and oil. But we also enjoyed a couple of restaurants within easy walking distance.
