Great accommodations and close to everything
Our stay at 537 Fern Glen was perfect. We had everything we needed in the rental. It's in a quiet neighborhood, but not so quite we felt uncomfortable playing outside. The location was close to everything we needed and made meals and beach trips so easy and convenient. Hope to come back soon and highly recommended! Thanks Lisa!
First time to San Diego
We loved the area. Windandsea beach, seals and sea lions at the Cove and kayaking from LaJolla Shores.
Day trips to the zoo, safari park and Torrey Pines.
Can’t wait to come back!
The Perfect Home Away From Home!
Lisa was a fantastic host! Super responsive, attentive and took care of every small detail.
We loved staying in her beautiful home, and can't say enough great things. Great quiet street, great proximity to both the beach and the town, and we loved the modern decor as well.
We'll be back for sure!
Great location! Close to beaches, restaurants and shopping. Beautifully decorated and very relaxing. The cleanliness and amenities provided were excellent. Would definitely stay here again.
Not recommended if you have a service dog or disabled child. I contacted Lisa a month before renting to let her know that my oldest daughter has chronic seizures, and requires a service dog (Bailey) that certified and fully trained. Bailey is trained to alert us of the seizure and then assist her so that she does not hit her head. He is with us at all times and leashed. Lisa agreed to have him stay, with a hefty deposit.
The confusion started when I paid. I was using a debit card so Lisa had to send me two requests, that then changed the reservation number. A week into our stay, her handyman showed up unannounced, stating that we had to leave. I reassured him that Lisa knew about Bailey and that everything was okay. I immediately messaged Lisa who replied "Please Depart!!" I reminded her of who Bailey was, and told her to look at the messages. She kept replying, "We Don't Allow Pets!!!" After talking to her on the phone, she suddenly remembered our messages and apologized profusely. We were leaving the following week for vacation and she insisted that her housekeeper Adelaide come clean, during that time. To make her feel better, I agreed. Later that afternoon when my children were home from school, her housekeeper came to the door. She started yelling in front of my girls that "no pets are allowed!" I tried to calm her down and let her her know that I had spoken to Lisa, but she kept insisting we needed to leave until my daughter started crying. I messaged Lisa about the event, with no response.
When we left for vacation, I left the house immaculate. Upon returning, we saw that all of our things had been gone through and moved. Not only that, but I had a message from Lisa explaining that Adelaide had washed all of the beach towels (that had not been used) with the white towels, and turned them blue. She wanted us to pay for all of her housekeepers damage.
My daughters were too scared to stay at the house so I made arrangements for them to stay with my ex husband, along with Bailey. The housekeeper continued to show up unannounced for the last week of my stay.
The final straw was after departing. When I went to leave a review, Lisa had changed the email on the reservation so I could not access it. I had to get upper management at VRBO involved just so you could read this.
I have a strict no pet policy as I have many repeat guests that are allergic to pet dander. I keep the home pet free (it has never had a pet in it until you came). I clearly state this in the RULES and ask guests to confirm that they are bringing no pets before I confirm their reservation - which you did. You had sent a prior inquiry that listed a pet and I declined. So you sent another inquiry later without the pet listed. After you checked in for your month-long stay, the neighbors started complaining about a barking dog on more than one occasion. I had the maintenance folks come by and they found a barking dog left loose in the home alone. When I called you - you said that it was a "service dog". However, if this was a service dog - you should have disclosed it and provided the credentials and why was the dog being left home alone loose in the house? The housekeeper came to do a midstay cleaning in order try to keep the pet dander down as my repeat guests with allergy were checking in the day after you left. It was apparent that the dog was sleeping in the kids bed. She moved the items from the bed in order to wash the sheets and bedspread as this is part of a normal cleaning- the washing of the linens. By the way - I did not change your reservation name - you were trying to access your original reservation request not the one that was the active one. My housekeeper never enter the home again, she was on the property cleaning the other two residences so that is why you saw her - not inside your home but outside cleaning the patios and the other two residences.
