We believe that slowing down from time to time is essential and doing so surrounded by the forest, with the ocean only a short drive away, creates a space where it is easy to breathe and enjoy the things that make the soul sing.

Ocean Song Cottages were completely renovated in the Spring of 2022. The aim was to have cottages that were light filled, minimal and quietly luxurious with modern conveniences and finishes all while finding a balance that allowed them to sit comfortably in the forested oceanside landscape. The result was a carefully considered mix of nordic hygge and mid-century modern with a nod to our own Pacific Northwest's contemporary aesthetic: simple forms, real wood, a restrained palette and maintaining an open feel to the space.

Stroll the property while viewing wildlife that can include bear, deer, birds of prey, whales and seals. This serene and breathtaking oceanfront property can make your dream of enjoying a PNW getaway a reality!

Perfect peaceful getaway

Quiet & secluded location. Updated cabin with well appointed and thoughtful amenities and touches. 15 minute walk to fabulous food at Shirley Delicious or Sheringham Lighthouse on quiet streets. Ten minute drives to Jordan River or Sooke. Several beaches and trails close by. Easy place to detach and unwind from people and traffic, watch ships go by and eagles overhead.Also recommend Stoked Woodfire Pizza 10 min drive.

Cozy cabin with beautiful scenic views

Stayed 3 nights in April and lucked out with the weather. Lovely spot, beautiful views and each cabin was very private . Host Melodie was wonderful and I would definitely recommend it for a couples get away.

beautiful waterfront property!

this place is gorgeous with a beautiful view of the jaun de fuca strait. the hot tub also gives a gorgeous view of the water. the house was very clean with awesome amenities. would highly recommend!

Cliff top paradise

We stayed two nights at Melodie's exquisite cottage in Shirley BC. Sitka cottage is brilliantly positioned on a cliff overlooking the Juan de Fuca strait and the Olympic Peninsula beyond. We sat on adirondack chairs and used the cottage's binoculars to watch humpbacks and other ocean life. The hot tub and hammock forced us to slow down and just be in the moment. We hope to return and highly recommend Sitka. Melodie was a responsive and welcoming host.

Perfect hideaway in Shirley

Well-equipped and a very lovely decorated and very clean cottage. It was a warm welcome. Very polite hosts. The surrounding is spectacular and quiet. We saw a black bear - exciting - and hummingbirds and eagles. It seems to be also a perfect place to watch whales, but this time no one appeared. The best place to relax. A great hideaway in Shirley. We will surely come back.

Beauty secluded ocean front stay

It’s very cozy and gorgeous place to stay close to nature and relax away from busy city. A lot of fun to watch many ships passing by and sea lions feeding. Highly recommend!

Just an excellent place to stay. This place is 5-stars all the way. The only very minor detail would be the queen bed is a bit firm and is purely my opinion, not a big deal.

Simply Amazing

I fell in love with this place once I saw the pictures. I thought it was too good to be true. Then I read all the wonderful reviews and I BOOKED immediately. This was a surprise for my partners birthday and this place is breath taking, simply amazing. Pictures and videos could never do it true justice. Once I booked Melodie reached out and was helpful from DAY 1. She let me know about ferry routes, driving directions, beaches, food locations, and she had a bottle of wine waiting on us for my partners birthday. Check in and out is a breeze. And you have everything you need there on site. Our favorite part was the hot tub! It’s clean and it snuggles you from the nice, fresh, crisp air! We saw whales from the hot tub and from the cute chairs placed perfectly across the property. It’s private as well. All in all 10 out of 10 EXPERIENCE. Thank you Melodie for having us at this beautiful oasis for some much needed R&R! It was the perfect get away for us flamingos all the way from Florida!!!! 💙💙💙🙏🙏🙏🙏

Oasis for Mind, Body, and Heart

So thankful to have found this wonderful place to stay an hour outside of busy Victoria. We were looking to stay near the end of the Galloping Goose trail for part of our tandem bicycling adventures, and Shirley, BC was an excellent choice! Melodie went above and beyond to give use so much great information for our first trip from the US to Canada, including advice on booking our ferry from Pt Angeles ahead of time, where to get groceries, fabulous places to dine, and more. Sitka Cottage was the perfect place to relax after our 36-mile ride day, and the fact that we were off the beaten path with complete privacy made the whole experience absolutely rejuvenating! The view, hot tub, hammock, interior accommodations, and all of the special touches for total comfort made us feel like we were in the lap of luxury without an ounce of pretense.

Stunning views - peaceful and calm in nature

The Sitka Lodge was amazing - clean and modern. The hot tub was such a great plus for watching the views. We happened to hit full moon and the night was lite up and we watched the ships travel through the passage. Would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to escape and feel like they are at a spa in nature.

Amazing Property

My wife and I stayed in the Sitka cottage to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary. The cottage is well appointed and is sparkling clean. Ocean views are amazing and we couldn't have been more pleased with the time spent on property. So peaceful and quiet. Melodie was very responsive and had good recommendations for things to do/places to eat in the area. A great place to reconnect and just unwind/recharge. Hopefully we will be able to come back again another time.

Peaceful Seaside Oasis

We had a wonderful getaway. Melodie has created a lovely oasis here and the amount of intentionality to small details for guests is incredibly. She is excellent about communication and making sure that you have all that you need. My partner and I could not have asked for a better place to celebrate our 30th anniversary. The cottage is beautiful, the scenery is beautiful, the hot tub is delightful. We had a resident eagle visit often and we had a couple of orca sightings. Lovely retreat and a lovely host.

A Must Stay

My husband and I stayed here for two very short nights. Complete disconnect and relaxation was the goal, and it was achieved. Melody was an excellent host from booking to check out. The property is absolutely stunning with a wonderful view. Not to mention the Hot Tub and Hammock. The property was clean, quiet and exactly what we wanted for an escape. We will definitely be back.!

End of the Year Getaway

Fantastic spot for a quiet getaway! Melodie and Sean have done a great job with their 2022 renovation and the studio/cabin is a very nice space in a great setting over looking the ocean. Though I actually did not meet Melodie in person, she was prompt and polite in her messaging and didn't miss a beat as far as coordinating my stay. Unfortunately due to a Sunwing Vacations flight delay, my other half (whom was stuck in Mexico overlapping the time of our stay at Oceans Song) was not able to make it for this particular stay. I did however have a great little retreat regardless by myself. It was a great view to wake up with from the comfort of bed. Being able to soak in the hot tub day or night was a great spot all the same. Weather as a couple or flying solo, I 'd recommend for for a quite lill get away you bet!

We purchased the cottages in August 2021 because it was a case of love at first sight. The moment we stepped out of our car the view took my breath away and I remember thinking “My life is about to change.”

We had found a place, a uniquely beautiful place, to experience relaxation and renewal, a space which would encourage us to connect and reflect on what matters most. With refined comforts and expansive views a stay at the cottages prioritizes rest and retreat. Live simply. Live slow. Breathe in nature.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

Ocean Song Cottages were closed at the end of the season on January 7, 2022 and re-opened on April 1, 2022. They were carefully and intentionally renovated with a strong emphasis on what matters - comfort and nature. Light pours into the cottages' large windows, bespoke interior fittings, modern appliances and furniture make for an easy stay and encourages a focus on well-being and reconnecting with nature. Outside there are 3.5 acres to explore and a secluded beach which is accessed by a private, ‘Registered Guests Only’ only staircase that meanders through an untouched rainforest. Each cottage is graced with a gas grill, 2-person hot tub and a large, shared expansive lawn which gently slopes down towards a breathtaking view of the ocean.
