We had an amazing time! The home was awesome and right next to the slopes which the teenage boys loved. The hot tub was another added bonus. The mountain can be a tough place with the weather conditions so keep that in mind when traveling in the winter. But the house was warm and the fire place was great and plenty of chopped wood. Clean and a great view! We will stay again for sure.

We had a wonderful time. The teenage boys were stoked on the location, very easy to get to the slopes especially with the holiday traffic. The hot tub was a great addition. The home was clean and the view was awesome! Plenty of fire wood for the fire place as well. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you. My suggestion going up in the winter is to expect the unexpected and make sure you have 4 wheel drive. Thank you for a great stay!

We loved the convenient location of the house. We were able to walk to the ski resort and it was close to restaurants and Fred’s as well. The hot tub was huge with plenty of room to spread out. The gas fireplace and windows all around the house made for a nice ambiance with wonderful views. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Great find!!

This cabin is awesome! Very close to town and ski resort. My husband walked to the closest ski slope and said it was very easy. The view of the mountain is so beautiful when you look out the big windows! We would stay here again!

Wonderful location and cozy chalet

Our family stayed at the Skiway Chalet for our recent ski trip. We loved the location which was close to the slopes and town. We enjoyed building a fire and playing games in the large open space. The house was roomy and equipped with anything we needed. We were able to cook, make coffee, sit on the deck and watch the people skiing. The Mountain View was amazing and the host and property manager were eager to answer any messages. Would love to stay here again with my family!!

Nice cozy cabin

We really liked the city of Beech Mtn. This cozy cabin was convenient and right by the city. It had pretty views from the what seeemed octagonal sides of the house. Every bed and couch was comfortable. It was a nice very cabin and something like I would like to own one day.

Perfect little mountain house

This house was perfect for our family. Charming older mountain house with amazing views right by the slopes. Felt like a true mountain home. My older kids were able to walk to the slopes with snowboard in hand. Perfect for families, especially those that have older teens or young adult kids with them- easy and walkable access to Beech.

Family vacation

Location and views were wonderful! The cleaning people definitely did not do a thorough job. Dirty dishes were left in the dishwasher, multiple used water bottles found under the bed along with an unused cigarette and little things here and there, front door handle was broken and coffee machine was broken as well. Other than that everything was wonderful!

Incredible Mountains

My family and I enjoyed our stay. The place was nice and clean and very well stocked. Plenty of space with three bedrooms and three baths. We liked that there was TVs in all the bedrooms. We were able to walk to a couple restaurants. The mountains in the area were incredible. We even saw a few bears! Lots and lots of deer. Our favorite place to hike was Grandfather Mountain State Park. Check out the rec center if you are staying there. All the outdoor activities are free, including kayaking. We enjoyed nightly use of the hot tub. Neat that they have the little lights hanging out there above it. We also went to Banner elk several times during our stay. That’s where we found our favorite souvenir shop. Good communication from the owner. Thanks we enjoyed our stay!

All the Little Details - Just Perfect

This house was really awesome! We felt so comfortable and there was plenty of room for everyone. This house sets the bar for having everything you need. From the makeup remover towelettes to the fire starter and wood for the fireplace, they really went above and beyond which we appreciated so much!! It was just perfect. Some of the reviews said it was a quick walk to the slopes but just for awareness, it’s a bit of a hike for some and if you’re uncomfortable skiing/boarding down a blue square to get back to the trail, it’s a straight walk uphill. Like, straight! But this place was dreamy and gorgeous and amazing. The owners really set the gold standard in my opinion. We can’t wait to come back!

Weekend in Banner Elk

The overall stay was good. Location was great. Perhaps a bit more could be done with deep cleaning the place once in a while. My biggest downvote is for communication. I contacted the Evolve hotline and was advised to contact the Property Manager. I called / Texted and emailed the manager but was completely ghosted. The calls would go straight to VM, text messages were never responded and of course no response over email. Also, for the steep price the check in and check out times seemed a bit too constrained. 4 PM to check in and 10 AM to check out! Either or both should be reduced to allow the guests to either arriver early or leave a bit more comfortably. No other complaints. Rest everything was great.

Overall Great Spot!

We enjoyed our stay! We had plenty of room and felt comfortable in all rooms. We enjoyed the fire place and hot tub! The fire wood already in the house was a huge plus! We grabbed a starter log and it was perfect for a cozy, cold night in! We experienced very cold temperatures (in the negatives!) and very high winds which caused the roads/driveway to be frozen. You definitely need 4-wheel drive to access in extreme cold. I'd say its a stretch to consider this house a ski in/ski out as the walk seemed pretty far. It could have been due to the very cold temps but the .1 block walk seemed more like .25 miles with all our gear! The king mattress was very comfortable and there is plenty of seating for larger groups in the living room. The kids enjoyed the games available and the kitchen was well equipped with everything needed for cooking all our meals at home.

Great space!

This home had a great amount of space, and the three full bathrooms were perfect for our needs. The hot tub was awesome. The kitchen is well appointed, but there's not a ton of open space for your own items, so that's something to keep in mind when packing food to bring with you. The driveway is super steep, so be prepared for that. The location is nice, with a couple of restaurants and a small convenience store a short drive away.

Overall good place

House was dated inside and range was dated and the burners took a long time to heat up so cooking was a little difficult but possible. House was not the cleanest either and hot tub was not clean although they say they have a professional service cleaning it. For the price this house was not what it could have been. On the plus side the beds were comfortable and the woodburning fireplace was nice. You can walk a short walk to the slopes but it is not ski in/ski out. One of the upstairs showers started leaking while we were there and I contacted the designated person and they called promptly and a contractor showed up but didn’t do anything except say it wasn’t still leaking so he wasn’t going to mess with it. We couldn’t use that shower the rest of the time though. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but wouldn’t rent this house again for the same price we payed. We are all from NC and actually have houses in Blowing Rock, but did not want to drive back there after the 80’s weekend at Beech.

Great View of Beech Mountain

This place has the perfect view of Beech Mtn. It’s also a very short walking distance to get to the slopes. We never had to use the public parking at Beech (major plus). Very comfortable place and we loved the hot tub! Great after a day of skiing/snowboarding. It’s also very close to some restaurants and Fred’s Store (on the road behind the house). Would definitely go back.
