Rural retreat and family friendly
Albens is a peaceful rural retreat set on a farm close to Orange. You have exclusive use of the comfortable, new, fully self contained cottage. on a rural property just 10 minutes drive from Orange. A winery is within walking distance. It is an ideal place to base yourself to explore the picturesque Orange area. You may also choose to just unwind, read, have conversations with friends and family, paint or sketch, watch the nesting birds or enjoy the expansive rural views from the comfortable and well appointed cottage. Whether you are visiting for Wine and food weekend, the field days, visiting the vibrant town of Orange , exploring the district or just a relaxing stay in the country, Albens cottage is a ideal for you.
From the cottage are wonderful expansive views and over 25 species of birds have been seen on the farm, many nesting in the stand of Albens eucalypts adjacent to the house. Sunsets and the night sky are spectacular.
The comfortable 2 bedroom cottage sleeps 4 people . The kitchen is fully equipped and a large dining table is in the open plan living area. A slow combustion fire can be lit to warm the cottage and provides a wonderful ambiance. There is a wood pile near the door for your use. The terrace provides a great place to sit and admire the views for sunset drinks, sampling your newly purchased local wines.
There is much wildlife near the cottage. You are most likely to see kangaroos grazing and might be lucky enough to see the echidna wondering by. You will see many parrots and other birds.
There is a welcome basket with breakfast items including cereal, fruit, tea, coffee and milk.
The cottage is fully equipped and all linen and towels are provided. You can prepare your own meals, go out to one of the fabulous cafes and restaurants in Orange or bring in your takeaway.
We have just redone our driveway so it is now all weather and is suitable for all vehicles. It provides easy access to the cottage, with a sheltered entrance to the cottage.
We welcome you to stay at Albens cottage, on our lovely rural grazing props located just 10 minutes from Orange.

Stayed 3 nights, fabulous location surrounded by beautiful farmland.Property was spacious, clean and so comfortable. Having a fireplace at night was so lovely, keeping the house warm into the mornings. Would definitely book again if in the area.

This is a great location, not far from town, but so peaceful and serene.

What a perfect spot! Comfy extremely clean, warm and relaxed.So close to activity but so far away in scenery from town. Rolling hills, food provided and cattle nearby were unexpected. Fantastic bird life....thank you.

Beautiful location and lovely accommodation
Located just 10 minutes from town in a gorgeous rural setting. Everything supplied for a weekend stay including light breakfast and Easter treats. A spacious and comfortable cottage for 4 adults.Would definitely love to stay again.

Amazing! This was one of the best holiday / long weekend accommodations we have ever been into. The location and the views from the terrace both morning with a tea or coffee and on sun-set with an Orange wine were the highlight. The house is exactly how it is advertised, clean, spacious, high quality throughout. Great kitchen with all we needed. Beautiful night sky, bird life and a peaceful atmosphere with views to the hills and horizon only 15min to Orange. We didn't want to leave!

Amazing place!!!
It was our 2nd stay at Alben and it was as amazing as the 1st time! The cottage is beautiful, very clean and perfectly appointed! The view on the landscape is fantastic! Perfect location to visit Orange and its surroundings!

Great place. Quiet and peaceful. Not too far out of town but far enough to be surrounded by beautiful countryside. House is well appointed. Looking forward to staying there again.

Great little getaway
We had a wonderful relaxing stay at Alben's Cottage. It's a remote spot set in its own plot of land with beautiful views. Big kitchen and living area with views. Note that the driveway will be a bit slippy in heavy rain, but we made it in our trusty tiny hatchback :) hope to be back soon!

We thoroughly enjoyed you staying with us Kim and thanks for your lovely comments. The driveway is booked in for reconstruction in early November, so should be fine once that’s done. We look forward to you returning to Albens.

Wonderful weekend away
Beautiful tranquil farm stay, only about a 15 min drive from Orange. Close enough to enjoy good food and wine in town but far away enough to feel off grid. The firewood provisions are very generous and the house has all the modern amenities. Thank you!

Quiet retreat with amazing views
Quiet family getaway, clean and all kitchen accessories required to enjoy a reinvigorating stay in the middle of the hilly outskirt of Orange. Amazing 360 views on the valley.
5 mins drive to a well-known quality coffee / grocer's, and 10 mins to the town centre.

Thank you John, we love the proximity to Orange too but with the sense of remoteness you get with the views from the cottage and the drive along the pretty lane. Did you have the opportunity to taste the nearby Bloodwood wines?

Charming Country Treasure
A lovely modern house with gorgeous country views surrounded by farms. Warm and cosey house, all comforts provided.

Paradise in the country
The cottage is in a beautiful location and is completely clean and well appointed with all you need for a stay and more.
You can plan to take a book but will be distracted by the lovely view all the time.
The changing colours at sunset are a special highlight. As are the night sky stars.
Only a short drive to town and local highlights like Mount and Lake Canabolas.

Easter in Orange
We had the best long weekend in this house. The views are amazing, watching the sunset and sunrise.
The house was clean and had everything we needed.
Our kids loves seeing the cows and other animals around the property too.
Great garden for an Easter Egg hunt.
Would come back again for a weekend. Not too far to drive to Orange, but lovely and peaceful back at the house.

Beautiful place for a quiet getaway
A beautiful secluded place will all modern amenities. Animals around the property are friendly and curious. Enjoyed the star filled night sky which is almost nonexistent in cities.

Clean modern house on a lovely country hill.
This house was spacious and well-appointed. It's very clean and modern with good heating. The view is lovely. It's close enough to Orange while still nice and quiet.

Lovely place to relax and unwind
It was lovely staying in this cottage! We were visited by some wallabies early in the morning and were able to do some fun local activities. Would definitely stay there again.

We have lived in Orange for over 20 years and can help you plan your stay in this beautiful district. We love farming this undulating and partially wooded property but currently have our home in town , so you can experience the beauty of the farm yourself.
Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?
This property is towards the end of a quiet country lane. You will see lovely views to Mt Canobolas and you will drive past a couple of vineyards. It provides a quiet place to unwind and relax. Although there is no wi-fi provided, reception is strong. The cottage is close to town but gives you complete peacefulness and a restful, natural environment, ideal for relaxing and recharging yourselves.
Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?
Sunsets are spectacular. The old growth Albens eucalypts behind the cottage provide homes to many birds. Rural retreat close to town.
