Charming but needs some attention which is to be expected because of its age. Cosy, very clean and well equipped. Kitchen excellent. Very central, easy access to all parts of Orange and surrounds.
Disappointing and overrated. Misleading advertising. If all of the reviews had been available prior to me booking I would never have booked.Stayz apparently have no standards. The house may appearâcuteâ, but in reality it is dirty, in dire need of renovation and falsely advertised. There is no ventilation in the toilet with a sheet of Perspex, holes drilled in it, to act as a window. The paint is peeling on all walls and there were cobwebs and dust over everything. The drain in the bathroom vanity was partially blocked and slow to drain which resulted in a foul smell. The floor waste was also blocked with hair and dirt.A large hole in the lounge room floor, both dangerous and draughty.Fabric on the lounge was marked and grubby with hair. The leather chair ripped and torn.Every power point in the house was overloaded with plugs and dangerously wired.Barbecue? Rusted and filthy. Outdoor areaâŠ.filthy and falling down, exposed and broken asbestos.Glasses in the kitchen cupboard filthy.Missing and broken tiles on the laundry and toilet floorEvery window and window sill in the house had a layer of dirt and blinds thick with dust.Cracked and uneven driveway could become a tragedy and the carport doesnât me psub standard. Layers of dust, cobwebs, dirty
My family and fully enjoyed this house and garden. To our surprise we discovered a hole in the lounge room floor when a rubber ball disappeared there. We had fun retrieving it with tongs. I really appreciated the well appointed kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms.
Sadly, I was a little disappointed with the overall condition of the house. I guess certain rooms and details were omitted in the photos, for a reason. No wardrobe/ hanging space in 2/3 bedrooms. Only 1 bedroom had a mirror. Some heavily loaded power boards in the house.,, Iguess itâs a â work in progressâ
This is a charming cottage with everything I needed for my 2 night stay. Close to town centre, cinema, museum and art gallery. Lovely outlook into back yard, comfortable and cozy. The inclusion of a piano and guitar was a plus! Would suggest more attention to cobwebbing inside. Would definitely rebook if Iâm in the area again.
We really enjoyed our stay in the Cute Cottage on Byng in Orange. The property was clean, comfy, warm and cosy. It's a short walk to the Orange CBD, Nile Street cafe and other cafes in the area. We would stay there again if we're in Orange again.
Great location to walk to Orange gallery and shops.
Needs more curtains in bedrooms, toilet and back dining room.
Old cottage charm but a few less cobwebs would be good.
The Byng St property was as described - a cute cottage, built many decades ago. The owner has transformed the cottage into a welcoming, well appointed destination. Everything inside was spotless, the beds were uber comfortable and and the cooking/eating appliances were in full working order (not always the case) whilst the extras like tv and wifi were of the highest standard. important in today's world.
The one problem we had was fixed immediately.
For a quiet time in Orange, at affordable rates, I would recommend the cottage.
Stayed here in early July. Thankfully the cottage has numerous heaters and blankets. Location is convenient to central Orange, and neighbourhood is quiet. Draughty toilet is really the only downside, though likely to be less of an issue for the blokes.
Location was perfect and the house was beautiful decorated. The only negative is the toilet is FREEZING in winter (maybe grab a heater for winter) and the massive cracks in the wall are a bit scary, but we had a great time and it was perfect for what we needed. The electric blankets were spot on lol
A lovely little cottage with three big rooms, a comfortable clean double bed in each. All cooking facilities nice and handy, and a good shower. There are some cracks in the walls, but these seemed fine.
Good on site parking with extra on the street. A sizeable private backyard.
Only a few blocks from the centre of Orange, so no car needed to attend dinner etc.
Enjoyed the stay.
We had a lovely stay at the property. The house was in a great spot close to everything. Two heaters in the lounge which worked really well for that area of the house and absolutely needed for winter in Orange. We had our 2 little dogs with us and they loved the backyard. We did have to watch them outside though, due to their size, as there were a few missing palings/holes in the fence which need some attention. Thanks.
This is the 5th time i have stayed at the cottage on Byng and its always excellent .I chose this cottage every time as it is welcoming and also allows pets. My Golden retriever recognises it when we pull up and he heads straight for the yard where he makes himself very comfortable. The beds are comfortable and all the amenities are well set out
Friendly three bedroom cottage with everything we needed to enjoy our family catch up in Orange. Our dog loved his first holiday away with us! Look past the cracks in the walls and the coldness in the toilet and just enjoy the history and imagine the times this house must have seen. It was warm and a comfortable stay. Bathroom and kitchen both nicely renovated.
