Spectacular stay!

This property is as advertised! Fully-stocked kitchen and spacious living areas. We enjoyed every deck, porch, and sounds of the river! The property owners were always a text away and left lots of great info in the book. We will definitely look to stay here again if back in Sapphire!

Family ski trip

Beautiful, spacious house in a breathtaking setting! My kid’s went skiing almost every day and I enjoyed cooking full meals in the gourmet kitchen for them. We relaxed and reconnected as a family. Wonderful trip!

Beautiful and well-appointed home

This house has everything you need for a comfortable stay with family or friends. Close to hiking trails with stunning waterfalls. The owner and Christy, the property manager were easily accessible and communicative. Great restaurants and shopping nearby! We will definitely return to this property—-would love to see it in the fall!

Location, location, location!

Such a beautiful home nestled high in the trees above a river bank. The views and sound of the river are super special. Very welcoming and comfortable home. We played golf, but there are plenty of other activities to do in the Sapphire, Cashiers and Highlands area…hiking, rafting, fishing and gem mining.

Excellent Home

This home was fantastic. From the large screened in porch to the brook below it was great. It is located near so many hikes and waterfalls we could not see them all. Nice to fall asleep listing to the running brook below the house. I recommend this house to everyone.

Another Great Stay!

We love this house. Our group of six stayed here 2 years ago and wanted to return. It is in a great location for things to do in the area. We even took lovely day trips to Asheville and Greenville, SC. We all have convertibles so our goal is to find scenic drives and this area has many especially to beautiful waterfalls. Highlands is a charming town nearby too. The house itself is large, wonderfully stocked, homey, clean and has lovely outside sitting areas (screened and not) with a beautiful view and the sound of the river below. Lots of room for parking, too. The owners are also very accomodating and available if you have any issues, which we did not.

Fall leaves

The home was exactly as described. Well furnished and very comfortable communications with owner were top notch. The steps to the river are quite long for seniors, but we certainly enjoyed the view from the deck. The only addition I could think of would possibly be an outdoor fire pit. Hope to return one day.

Excellent house and location

The house is beautiful. The screened in porch was the best. You could sit out there and lister to the river go by. The house was very comfortable. The check out could not have been easier. I loved the fact that you did not have to do a lot before you left. Recommend this house to everyone. Great location to hiking and waterfalls

A perfect retreat

We enjoyed a week at the River Run House, which is a beautifully appointed home stocked with everything you need from cooking a meal to laundering your clothes. We enjoyed hiking each day at nearby trails…all of which led to magnificent waterfalls! We spent a couple of rainy afternoons in Cashiers shopping and enjoying the Lea Ann Fine art gallery. Each night we dined at amazing restaurants and were particularly impressed with The Fix ( yummy Eggs Benedict! ), The Library Kitchen & Bar, The Orchard and Osteria del Monte. We loved sitting down by the river with a glass of wine and listening to the peaceful sounds of the water tumbling over the rocks and seeing “Spring” trees burst into bloom. It was the perfect place to spend time with friends!

Exceeded Expectations

This house is spectacular. The photos are beautiful, but it is even nicer than the pictures! It was a perfect home for three couples! The landscape is breathtaking. We so enjoyed the screened porch and deck and were able to hear the river and experience the complete serenity. The walk down to the river is worth every step and we all enjoyed sitting on the deck down there! The beds are so comfortable, the furnishings are exquisite, and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we could desire. The wine and popcorn were such a special treat! Tara reached out and anticipated every question I could possibly have. The location can not be beat. Obviously, I can’t say enough about this property and the owners!

Felt Like Home

This property is not just a rental. It felt like a real home! The house is lovely, clean, comfortable and so well equipped. It was truly amazing! One of our favorite areas was the screened porch where you could hear and see the river down below. We were also impressed with all the large windows and the sliding glass door across the back of the house including the bedrooms that had such an amazing view, including the river! It is also in a great location for quickly accessing 64 to head in any direction for sightseeing. There are also nice restaurants and a grocery store nearby. The homeowners and their cohost were both very attentive and provided information for our stay. The welcome basket was a special touch!

This was a rare occasion where our entire group felt that this property was even nicer than the pictures portrayed. Beautiful home and setting! We loved watching and listening to the river. Everything we needed or wanted was provided. Would definitely stay again!

Outstanding !

What a wonderful and truly zen experience to listen to the Horsepasture River from the decks. The owners have spared no expense to deliver a tastefully and beautifully decorated home. We have booked many vacation homes but River Ridge Retreat surpasses them all. Centrally situated for trips to Cashiers, Dillsboro and even the Blue Ridge Parkway makes this home a perfect base to explore. Christy is an attentive rental liaison who was available for any questions - thanks Christy. The welcome basket was a pleasant surprise indeed. Many thanks for sharing this amazing home.

Mountain haven

River Ridge Retreat was perfect in every way! The location was ideal for driving to the nearest towns of Sapphire and Cashiers, and Highlands and Brevard were within easy driving distance. Seeing gorgeous mountain vistas and waterfalls from this location was very easy. The house is in a stunning woodland setting with views from every window of the rushing river below. This home is beautifully decorated with interesting art pieces and is equipped with every amenity one could possibly want. The lovely kitchen has every piece of culinary equpment available, with a great breakfast bar. Having 3 separate bed/bath suites would be very convenient for families or groups traveling together. We enjoyed the screened porch and deck, both with fabulous views of the woods and river. Good wifi, TV streaming channels, and good cell service were very helpful. The beds were very comfortable with good quality bedding, and the bathrooms were well equipped with toiletries and fluffy towels, like a luxury hotel. We felt very safe with the keyless door locks, and very friendly, welcoming communication from both the local assistant as well as the owner was an unexpected pleasure. Help with a minor repair issue was very swift, and lovely welcome basket of goodies was a delightful surprise! We felt quite pampered here and would highly recommend this superb and spotless property. We hope to come back soon!

Ready to return!

Comfortable home away from home. We loved the outdoor spaces and opening the windows to let in the cool fall air. The basket of throw blankets near the fire place was a nice touch. The suggestions for hikes were appreciated. The location is excellent - close to good hiking, shopping, the rec center at Sapphire Valley resort, etc - and the property Itself has room to explore and play outside. We trekked down to the river multiple times each day. We also enjoyed the kayaks at Fairfield Lake. This is a great home for a multi-generational trip.

Perfect Mountain Getaway

Simply perfect. Clean, well equipped, darling, easy and delightfully quiet. We walked to Whisper Lake, down to the river and spent a whole day at Sapphire resort. Spectacular.

Rainy but great stay

We enjoyed a long weekend at this home and hope to return when the weather is better. The home itself is lovely and had everything you'd need from a well stocked kitchen, comfy beds, lots of games and puzzles, nice toiletries oh, and the view.... Location is convenient to restaurants and hiking trails. Our kids loved taking the 178 steps down to explore the river every day.
