Alla Collina is a luxurious private villa with pool set in peaceful countryside near Todi, offering space, flexibility and an exceptional level of service. The main villa sleeps 8–11 guests in generous comfort. Within the grounds there is also an independent studio (sleeping 2) and a separate guest cottage (sleeping 6), both rented exclusively with the main house. This makes Alla Collina ideal for large families or multi-generational groups who want to stay together while still enjoying privacy.

From the moment you step through the impressive front door into the ancient barrel-vaulted corridor and stone-flagged hall, the quality and character of the property are clear. Three arched glass doors fill the space with light and frame views of the garden. The main sitting room is large and welcoming, with three sets of double doors opening directly onto the terrace and loggia. Opposite is a fully equipped games room with board games, table tennis and a full-size 8 ft x 4 ft pool table.

The kitchen is designed for serious cooking, with oversized oven, five gas hobs, dishwasher, large fridge-freezer and every practical detail carefully provided. There is also a laundry room and cloakroom on the ground floor. The “garden bedroom” is also on this level, with a 5 ft queen bed, en suite bathroom with large shower and direct access to its own patio.

Upstairs you will find a second comfortable sitting room with television and guide books, along with three further bedrooms, all with their own bathrooms. The master bedroom includes an extra single bed, another double bedroom also has an additional single bed, and the loft bedroom offers three single beds with its own small sitting area, ideal for younger members of the family.

The separate guest cottage offers three bedrooms, bathroom, sitting room and kitchen. The independent studio includes a double bed and en suite bathroom. Together, the layout provides exceptional flexibility for larger groups.

The swimming pool is glorious and entirely private, surrounded by countryside and wide views towards Todi. The setting is peaceful, with lovely local walks and picnic opportunities directly from the house.

What truly sets Alla Collina apart is the service. Giusy, the housekeeper and cook, provides cleaning as part of the rental. She can also prepare authentic Umbrian meals, babysit, assist with laundry and offer cookery lessons for an additional fee. Her cooking and hospitality are frequently a highlight of guests’ stays.

On arrival, the kitchen is thoughtfully stocked with essentials including spices, fresh herbs from the garden, olive oil, vinegar, seasonal fruit, bottled water, local red and white wine, flour, sugar, coffee, tea, milk, butter, jam and fresh bread. Giusy also prepares a lasagna or similar pasta dish for you to finish in the oven, along with salad leaves, allowing you to relax from the moment you arrive. Organic vegetables growing in the garden are available for guests to enjoy.

It’s the choice for the savvy traveller looking for something off the beaten track, but nevertheless usefully located. Todi is said to have the most perfect medieval piazza in all Italy, the Piazza del Popolo. There’s a wonderful church by Bramante, a clutch of splendid restaurants, brilliant views from the town walls, plus a couple of shops (just off the main square), stuffed to the rafters with fabulous antique and re-pro brass and copper ware - their candelabra and fire irons are irresistible.
