The property was cute and decent and in a great central location.
The problem was that the apartment is at the top of 3 long and difficult flights of tightly-winding stone stairs. The listing hides this fact!
"At the first level you will find an entrance from where you access to the dining room, where you can eat your meals cooked in the equipped kitchen. Moreover, on the same level, a bright living room with two comfortable sofas. A stairway brings you to the second level where you will find a double bedroom, a twin bedroom and a little studio with a french size sofa bed".
IT DOES NOT MENTION THAT THE "FIRST LEVEL" IS AT THE TOP OF A LONG AND DIFFICULT CLIMB.
The average age of our group was 72 - this was very hard for us.
Matches the description perfectly. The best features are location and the balcony.
Pros: The building is a couple quick turns away from a large open-air market during the day & outdoor seating for restaurants at night. Very close to several major sites as well. The city of Rome is very walkable--we walked to most places right from our room.
The two main bedrooms are comfortable and well air-conditioned. We didn't use the kitchen, but it looked to be well-stocked, and the washing machine worked fine (be prepared to hang things to dry). It was nice having a second toilet in the apartment downstairs.
The balcony is absolutely wonderful, as advertised--be prepared for an extremely steep and small winding staircase to get up to it, though. (My mom only wanted to make the trip once).
Cons: The building is a little older, so it's not the most updated property, but it seemed clean overall. We had a few small bugs join us on our stay and a couple of geckos that liked to camp out on the ceiling of our bedroom at night. The french size sofa bed in the studio is tiny and very uncomfortable (plus the room is harder to keep air-conditioned). Also the wi-fi did not have a very strong signal at all, and sometimes we just ended up turning it off and using data. As is pretty much always the case in Europe, be prepared for lots of stairs. Even the stairway to get up to the bedrooms was extra steep--but this is a fact of life in these old buildings.
Overall, very happy with our stay!
We stayed here to see Rome and it did not disappoint on the location. Access to the campo dei fiori was quick and easy. Also grabbing an Uber from a very near Main Street was helpful. The best part for us was the air conditioning. It was 100+ 2 days. The terrace was the main attraction but challenging to get to. We didnât end up using it as we thought. The furniture-mainly the sofas were very small and sunken making it difficult to get up. The rest was fine. We enjoyed our stay overall.
