Accueillant, confortable, pratique, bien équipé et présenté. Le chalet est adjacent à la chaîne de ferry reliant la ville de voile de Cowes.
Vues imprenables sur le Solent et la Medina depuis le balcon, idéales pour observer le dynamisme maritime
Le chalet est situé directement sur la rivière afin que vous puissiez vous détendre dans ce cadre côtier et profiter de l'activité marine constante avec des vues fantastiques sur les yachts qui passent depuis l'un ou l'autre balcon.
Le chalet comprend une chambre double, une petite chambre avec lits superposés, un salon / salle à manger avec vue sur la rivière, une cuisine et une salle de bains. Il y a aussi une place de parking réservée pour un véhicule juste devant la porte d'entrée.

L’Esplanade s’étend sur toute la longueur de la plage. De l’autre côté, vous trouverez un green, un terrain d’aventure, une pataugeoire et un café. vendre une variété de plats et de boissons, ce qui est également un excellent point de vue pour regarder le spectacle des bateaux et des yachts lors de leur navigation dans Cowes Harbour et leur passage à travers le Solent.

Osborne House, la maison familiale de la reine Victoria, est une visite incontournable sur l'île et constitue l'une des attractions touristiques les plus populaires de l'île de Wight. Après sa première visite à Osborne, le monarque le plus ancien d'Angleterre a écrit: "Il est impossible d'imaginer un endroit plus joli".

À quelques minutes à pied de la propriété, vous trouverez deux excellents restaurants, un indien (Taste of India) et un italien (Prego). Pour un dîner en famille quotidien trouvez le canot de sauvetage, qui possède un pont surélevé et orienté vers l’ouest, où vous pourrez savourer un repas ou une boisson au soleil, surplombant le port de plaisance et la variété de bateaux renversants qu’il abrite.

Le chalet est proche de la chaîne des ferries * à environ 50 mètres, ce qui est un lien pratique avec Cowes prenant les passagers à pied et les véhicules entre 6h et minuit. Il fonctionne avec des chaînes qui cliquettent un peu et qui abaissent le bruit de la rampe. Les dormeurs légers peuvent trouver cela un peu bruyant. Veuillez donc en tenir compte lorsque vous choisissez Anchor Cottage. Relaxing short break.

We stayed at Anchor cottage for a short break, the cottage was lovely and warm for a cold January stay. We enjoyed watching the chain-link Bridge and being winter with the windows shut, the noise did not disturb us with the exception of the fog horn early one morning! The cottage had a dated feel and could do with an upgrade, the bedrooms sparse and a little cramped, especially the bunk room. However, it had everything that you needed for a comfortable stay and great river views.. The outside space, parking and neighbours were all excellent and we had an enjoyable time.

Five night break

The accommodation tho cosy needs a lot of attention. Wardrobe doors barely functioned and the bed was extremely uncomfortable. The ground floor suffered from damp and the smell was unpleasant. The location was good as it related to visiting other places/areas but the adjacent chain bridge was noisy, started at 5am and with minimum sound proofing, led to disturbed sleep. The bathroom was small but functional although the bath needs an anti slip mat. On a more positive note, a few supplies had been left for our arrival and this was greatly appreciated.Whilst we enjoyed our stay in general, the cottage in its current condition and compared to others we have stayed in, is over priced.

If you want enjoy a true Cowes experience, chose Anchor Cottage!

The cottage was exactly as described, clean and welcoming and in an amazing location. Having parking outside your door was a real bonus and the views are fantastic if you want to experience life on the busy estuary and Cowes harbour. The property is a great base to enjoy all that the beautiful IOW has to offer. The cottage details very honestly inform you that there is noise from 5am until late at night that comes from the 'workings'/activity of the very usefull/crucial Floating Bridge which is located immediately next door to the cottage. The chains etc do make a lot of noise as the bridge arrives and departs, but after 24hrs or so we became so used to it we hardly noticed it anymore. If I had to make one very minor criticism it would be that the towels could be replaced or even bettter, a different method of washing and DRYING them could be found to revive and soften them up a bit, they have lost their fluffyness and are a bit hard. That is honestly the only negative thing I have to say about this unique property.

Warm and cosy

Despite the freezing weather we were warm and cosy and close to Waitrose for supplies and The Lighthouse for a good pub, all with beautiful views of the water.

1st visit to the Isle of Wight

The cottage was in an ideal location. Amenities were near by. It was very clean and comfortable. Beautiful views and so near the sea. Well equipped but would recommend a welcome pack. Would definitely recommend and would go there again.

Great location

Lovely views especially if your a boat lover. Great location right next to chain ferry. Great for crabbing and fishing in private garden. Unfortunately when we arrived the upstairs and bathroom floor were dirty, sticky and had alot of pet hair on it, otherwise a lovely property well equipped for your stay.

Glorious position close to the water.

This is the second visit to Anchor Cottage and already looking forward to my stay next year. The cottage is extremely comfortable with all the kitchen equipment you need. A communal area to sit in the sun and watch the world sailing on the river Medina. Dog friendly.

Clean and comfortable and in a good location for us

The accommodation was clean and comfortable and in a good location for our short break of five nights. The chain ferry is right next to the property and operates from 5 am to midnight, so if weather is hot and you need windows open and are a light sleeper it might be an issue for some. For us it was a lovely base from which to explore the island and we would book again. Very nice. Thank you.

Basic accomodation.

The first thing is the chain bridge, which thankfully wasn't running as it is literally about 10 metres from the property and talking to the locals is Uber noisy, and runs from 6am until midnight. The property was ok but not luxurious. The crockery was basic, not enough for 4 guests, no decent wine glasses and all a bit grubby. The microwave was about 30 years old. Bathroom very basic, tiny bath. Small double bed. The location was great ( other than the bridge) lots of takeaways, pubs,walks, shops etc, and good bus service from outside Waitrose.

Absolutely ideal

We had a 3 night stay in Anchor Cottage and found it ideally situated on the river and close to the shops. It was in superb condition with everything we needed. Comfortable and well equipped. Second bedroom is small probably only good for small children. Friendly neighbours. Island Holiday Homes were a fabulous company to work with. Always someone to speak to, efficient booking of ferry and of last minute alteration. Great communication. Highly recommend this house.

Perfect location

Anchor cottage is the perfect base to explore the Isle of Wight from. So close to the chain ferry across to Cowes you can see it out the window. The house has everything you need for a relaxed stay. We will definitely return

Lovely holiday

Anchor cottage was immaculately clean and very well stocked kitchen with everything you need for cooking. We had a lovely stay and enjoyed watching the floating bridge on one balcony and the Red Funnel ferry on the other. The advert does state that the chain link floating bridge does start running at 5am so early start to the day.

Welcoming, Every Comfort provided and a novelty place to hang out

Just come home from a well earned break at the cottage, on arrival, all was clean and welcoming, with a nice tea and biscuit arrival treat.The kitchen has all you need to make meals and store food. Location wise we thought wow this is a real novelty ! Placed immediately next to the Chain ferry, and a view up the estuary of Yachts and boats that constantly changes. However the ferry is very noisy and guests should factor in this begins at the crack of dawn and stops at midnight, so sleep noise adjustment takes a couple of nights. East Cowes itself has a handful of shops, which meet immediate needs. All in all we enjoyed our stay and this was an excellent base to explore the island and come home to.

Very comfortable and relaxing stay

We booked the accommodation at the last minute, as the original place we were due to stay was cancelled due to Covid restrictions. We were pleased with our choice and had a very relaxing stay. Very convenient location to catch the chain ferry to Cowes. The cottage had everything we needed, although we did have a bit of trouble with the key safe. The numbers need to be slightly aligned above the mark for them to unlock it. However this was a minor issue which didn’t spoil the enjoyment of our holiday.

An enjoyable holiday break

Liked the unusual location,lots of interest in the area and good places to eat out. Although we were prepared for the noise of the chain ferry, it did limit our slumbering hours - didn't need an alarm clock! The house was generally comfortable but, found the double bed a bit uncomfortable. Could have done with a better & firmer matress.

A holiday to remember..

This cottage with it's unbelievable view, at the waters edge. Spend evenings enjoying one of the two balconys. With a glass of wine and a good book, or simply watch the sailing. Anchor cottage has a well equipped kitchen. Nice to have both Dish washer as well as a washing machine. Beds are sooo comforortable. RECOMEND this holiday home.

A great place to stay

We very much enjoyed our stay at this lovely little house. Great views of the constantly changing river and although there is some noise from the chain ferry we didn't find it at all irritating. Nice to be welcomed with biscuits, tea bags, spare toilet rolls etc. Very warm, comfortable and homely.

Just what we wanted - a lovely relaxing holiday

Anchor Cottage gave us all that we required....lovely views across the busy water where we relaxed watching the chain ferry, commercial and private boats going about their business. Facilities in the cottage were ideal and especially a very comfy bed! We have been to the IOW many times so have visited most of the attractions over the years so this holiday was purely relaxation and change of scenery. The one thing that did cause us a problem was the key safe on the outside wall of the cottage. We tried for quite a while to open it with the key code but without success. Fortunately a neighbour came over and he eventually was able to get it open but he commented that it was very fiddly and probably a new safe was required. We then had the same problem when we came to leave, we couldn't get it open to return the key! The neighbour wasn't available so we had to leave the key in the locked post box on the outside wall of Anchor Cottage where it would be safe. We did let Island Holidays know what we had done and they were going to contact the owner.
