Windysun West is a lovely cottage. The kitchen, dining and living spaces on the first floor are spacious and nicely furnished. The extra large dining table was great for doing some art work. We didnât use it, but the lower level family space is great. Bedrooms are large, as are the bathrooms. The location of the cottage is close to all the necessities but quiet and off the main traffic ways.
This home was beautiful, well-stocked, comfortable, spacious, and everything was exactly as advertised. It was even beautifully decorated for Christmas. My family of 4 had WAY more room than we needed and had a lovely stay. Highly recommend!!!
I took group of women from my ministry here for a weekend of refreshing. Amazing accommodations and we will be back (with a different group ) hopefully this year. Thank you
Spacious, clean house in a convenient, yet easily accessible location
The accommodations were great. There was an ample amount of linens, dishes, and everything was well kept and clean. The driveway was large enough to fit multiple vehicles and the house was mostly secluded, yet close to a wonderful brewery and only a mile from Wisp. My only complaint would be the pool table was extremely warped, as in all of the balls rolled back into the middle when you hit them. I was notified of this 2 days prior to arrival, but the pool table was one of the main reasons why I picked this house in the first place, since a ski trip in March is a gamble and we wanted to have an indoor activity. Overall, it was a wonderful place to stay.
We were looking for someplace where we could just relax and get away from it all. We had plenty of room both inside and out for our party of nine. We played a lot of yard games during the day and board games after dark. The yard had plenty of room to do everything we wanted and it was easy to fit us all around the big dining room table both for eating and playing games.
When we first arrived the grass needed cutting and the upper level bathroom sink was clogged. I called maintenance early the next morning and within an hour they came out and mowed and unclogged the sink.
The only real issue we had was when all the showers were occupied, the upper level shower lost all water pressure. We could not use all three showers at one time. Other than that the place was great!
Overall, loved the house. Just a few inconveniences... unable to use indoor fireplaces and no working lights outside that we could find making it difficult to safely utilize the hot tub.
This house is beautiful and was spacious enough for our party of 12. It is not far from the lake, and we enjoyed exploring local parks etc...
We contacted Railey Vacations via email about a few issues we had with the cleanliness of the place, but we never heard anything back from them regarding the dirty towels left behind from the previous guests or cleaning. The house was in need of a thorough dusting, which is a big deal for people with allergies. We called them about the hot tub, and no one showed up the next morning to look at it as we were told they'd do.
This is a nice place to stay, but it would have been better if it weren't for those issues.
We arrived to find no water to the property. And an email from the property manager manger telling me we would have no dishwasher use, because of a melted part that needed to be replaced. Funny I get an email regarding the dishwasher, but NO mention of well pump issues. And continued to not have usable water for over 48 hours (unless from gallon jugs provided to us from the property manager). Maintenance arrived our first night around 9:15 pm. Told we would be contacted regarding the âno waterâ problem at 8:00 am the following morning. We were not. We had to call the property manager at 9:30, and continued to be on the phone throughout the entire day. A plumber arrived in the late morning/early afternoon to say he had been there 4-5 days prior and told the property manager that this property needed a new well pump. Someone should have contacted us prior to our arrival to offer cancellation for this vacation, knowing about the pending well pump problems. Finally, around 1:30 on our second day, a pump mechanic arrived to pull & drop a new pump. They explained to us not to wash clothes, dishes, ourselves for several days because of the brown muddy water that would be coming out of the faucets. So, we continued to not have usable water For the remainder of our stay(so Wednesday to Sunday). We had family & friends who arrived Friday and were unable to take showers or did so with brown awful smelly water. This water situation also affected the hot tub which is a reason for booking this property. This was a 50th Birthday present from my husband for me and we are so disappointed with how this vacation played out. I am waiting to hear what kind of refund (which should be a full one) We will be getting from the property manager.
Great home for 3 groups, as each of the bedrooms are on a separate floor and are very large with their own bathroom. Hot tub was an awesome perk but the water was greenish-brown with a little slime on the edge when we showed up. The kitchen and dining room are perfect for a large group and hardwood floors were nice for cleaning up after all the kids. Several dining room chairs were broken and only 2 of the 4 burners were working, but we were only there for 3 days and it worked out fine. Super close (walkable?) to Mountain State brewery, which had a great selection of beers on tap.
This house worked great for our group of 12 adults over a long weekend. The house is accurately listed per photos and is gorgeous on the inside! Spacious and clean. The gas fireplaces were a bonus and there were plenty of linens to keep everyone warm during the freezing nights. As some other reviews mentioned, the kitchen utensils were lacking and the Keurig was broken. Water pressure shut off twice (whenever 2 people tried to run showers at the same time) which was just a pain. The dishwasher did not seem to clean the dishes very well either. The pool table did not work, so we flipped it to use the air hockey side, but unfortunately that did not work either as we couldnât find the plug. The hot tub did not have clear instructions for useâit seemed clean and was great for relaxing, but turning it on and off was way more difficult than it should have been. Lastly, there is a WASPâS NEST somewhere in the house. We caught and freed about 5 wasps daily and more kept coming. This was probably the most concerning issue. I still give this a 4/5 because of the ease and simplicity I had with booking and check in, and how nice the layout of the house was despite all the minor problems.
The home and location were perfect! We spent the weekend outside and hiking at the local parks. The condition of much of the kitchen knives and pot and pans were pretty poor and two of the four stovetop burners donât work. Otherwise we had a perfect weekend!
