2 week family holiday. Cracking views. Very quiet. And a very well stocked kitchen.
Had a lovely time, chilled out, plenty of table tennis and cycling.
Nice comfy beds. A lots to do in this area.
We had a great week at The Cottage. Truly awesome views from the balcony and a generally high quality stay all round. We all loved the table tennis and pool table and the garden offers plenty to do as well. Area full of places to visit. Great house and location.
Our first staycation in a while..and what can we say, it didnât disappoint. Our first trip to Dorset - what a beautiful county!
The house was like home from home..:with everything there that we needed - the beds were extremely comfortable, the kitchen had all the amenities, we had a tesco delivery on the first day which was really great! The men loved the games room especially the pool table and the children absolutely loved the trampoline - so did the adults too!
The climbing frame & slide is in need of updating, but apart from that the garden was amazing.
The views from the terrace was amazing and the sunsets and star gazing in the evening were breathtaking.
We used the house as a base and had many days out - nothing was too far. But to be honest could have stayed in the house all week and enjoyed the beautiful garden.
Saskia the host answered the questions we had quickly & efficiently during our stay.
We all had an absolutely amazing time and would recommend to family and friends and would definitely go back in a heartbeat!

We loved everything about the Cottage and couldn't fault it at all. It has the wow factor for sure - the pictures just don't do it justice. Everyone commented on the comfy beds, linen and towels which were great quality. Kitchen was very well equipped and every utensil, pots, crockery etc you needed was there. Pool table was a great addition, plus dart board and piano (if you can play!) and the large trampoline in the garden also a hit. Would definitely recommend and can't wait to return.
A stunning house with a fantastic garden. The house had everything we needed and would have been quite happy to move in permanently.
The garden and trampoline were a more than welcome bonus, if our children had been younger we may never of got them away from it for the day.
In a great spot not being too far from anywhere and with all the lovely restaurants nearby - what more could you want.
Hope to be back soon!
We had a lovely and truly relaxing week at Foyle Hill Cottage, the location was amazing, as were the views and the garden.
The children had loads of fun on the trampoline, slide, hammock and pool table, and we especially enjoyed the open plan living space and kitchen area. The master bedroom was a real haven, with beautiful beams and views. The en suite waterfall shower was a treat too. The house was very well equipped and decorated, with a comfortable but stylish edge.
Saskia (the owner) was a pleasure to liaise with, and left a very thorough and thoughtful list of local places of interest and eateries, instructions and advice. Along with the Prosecco and fresh flowers, it was an absolute pleasure to stay at this property, and we had one of the best family holidays we have ever had, home or abroad.
Would highly recommend this property, and hope to visit again in the near future. Many thanks to the family for letting us stay in their beautiful house.

Had a wonderful family holiday here for a week (30th July-6th August 2016).
The Cottage had everything we could possibly need,
Glad we chose this particular property!
Good contact with owner Saskia,too.
We loved the spectacular views and the games room proved popular for us adults and the kids alike!
Nice touch to have a bottle of Prosecco and flowers on arrival, too, much appreciated.
The kids, especially loved the garden, with its quirky style and plenty of hiding places, for a game or 2 of hide and seek.
Would definitively recommend The Cottage and Shaftesbury for a family holiday, and if we were to come this way again,we would not hesitate to stay here again, it would be a pleasure!
We spent a very enjoyable week at foyle hill house with all the family. We were all accommodated comfortably in the high specification residence. The downstairs offers a very sociable space which extends outside, weather permitting, of course. Even if the weather isn't on your side, the games room provided our family with hours of entertainment. The additional upstairs lounge offers alternative space for relaxation with amazing views. The pictures and descriptions are accurate. The location was rural but was within easy walking distance of the local amenities in Shaftsbury. The welcome wine and flowers was a lovely touch which enhanced our arrival at this spotlessly, well equipped, family holiday let. The owner put together a very useful handbook for the house and surrounding area with advise and recommendations which we found informative. I would highly recommend this let.
Stunning views and superb balcony in a lovely quiet setting walking distance from Shafstbury. Lots to see locally including Stonehenge, Salisbury and Bath. Don't forget to walk up 'Gold Hill ' of 'Hovis' fame. Good food at the the local 'Two Brewers'. Excellent bakers and deli in the town!
Our big family spent a week in this lovely house last Summer holidays. The house was immaculate when we arrived and the owners had left nice touches such as flowers and a bottle of fizz.
We had great communication with the owner prior to arrival and they really couldn't have done any more for us.
The accommodation was perfect, the garden private and lots of fun for the children, and the view just beautiful.
All mod cons added to the luxury of the house and being on holiday, as well as a fully stocked games cupboard, TVs, pool table, lots of toys and garden games, close to town and local attractions, we really did have an amazing break.
We would love to return.
We had lovely family week here with 7 adults, and found the house to be a wonderful home from home! The cottage has been tastefully and sympathetically extended to provide a huge space, with every thing you could possibly need for an enjoyable holiday. We loved opening the kitchen bi-fold doors and eating out on the huge terrace, rounding off with a game or two of pool and darts, or chilling out on upstairs balcony taking in the views. I would highly recommend this wonderful, quirky, fabulous property and hope other guests manage to find the Master Bedroom a little quicker than we did!!
A splendid location for Christmas or summer either one. We are a family of 5-10 when we get together at Christmas time. Grandma (88), Us (in our 60s) and our son & girlfriend and then a few close friends as well. The house is spacious, warm and very comfortable. Our owner put up a Christmas tree for us (a REAL ONE), decorated in the kitchen and left surprises for us as well. (mince pies and bubbles) The 4 bedrooms are all comfortable, 2 bathrooms and a downstairs loo. The games room and 2 sitting rooms make for plenty of room for all. The kitchen was very well equipped and our owner even arranged to have our Christmas turkey delivered to the door. Shaftesbury is a lovely town and we took advantage of it's amenities. The butchers on the high street is very good. I'd recommend this house for any one looking for great views, comfort and a happy holiday.
If you are looking for a perfectly presented house close to Shaftesbury Dorset, you should look no further than property E8858. We had a wonderful week at this extremely spacious and very well equipped property. Every room was well presented beautifully, comfortable and had everything you could need, even welly boots for all in the utility room! The garden was spacious, beautifully landscaped and safe for children. The addition of massive trampoline and pool table was the icing on the cake! The house is big enough to accommodate 6 people without feeling like you're getting on top of each other. There was a very good pub fairly close by (a good 15 mins walk up to the top of a steep hill), the only thing that let us down was the typical British summer weather! The owner was swift to respond to any queries we had and very easy to deal with. We would definitely recommend and book again. Enjoy!
