The apartment doesn't look like the pictures. Checking in is also a bit complicated (without photos, I wouldn't have found the key box). The apartment isn't particularly clean. It's on the first floor, and the kitchen of an Italian restaurant is downstairs, which is very loud until late into the night. The walls to the neighbors are extremely thin. The light in the hallway stays on all night, shining through the 2cm gap in the front door. There's no outlet in the bathroom. The location is goodâit's only 5 minutes to Hyde Park. I wouldn't book it again.
Arrived in central and made my way to the lockbox which is situated in a parking across from some townhouses but in a really weird spot and very odd to access behind a tree fixed to a pillar that is part of a fence...got the keys and made my way to the flat which i a nice clean place . my only issue where the loud workers from the restaurant that played loud spanish music but by 9:30 pm was quiet so if you are out all day its not an issue.overall the place is in a great location ,clean, safe and good for a couple of days in central London.
Excellent location with a myriad of pubs, shops and restaurants close at hand and minutes walk from the tube. Hyde Park very close too. Comfortable and well equipped (though the electric shower lacks power and the bath is a little worn). Amazing for the price because the nightly rate I paid would not get you anything but the most basic hotel room. Was slightly surprised there was no tv (not an issue for me personally) and the WiFi was weak but other than that I rate the studio excellent.
The apartment was small but quiet, with a comfortable bed and nice shower. Easy walking distance to Lancaster Gate Tube station. Kitchen lacked essentials: spatula, colander, wine opener, dish towels. Toilet was sluggish and very slow to fill. Groceries and restaurants nearby. Overall fairly comfortable.
The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. It was a couple minute walk to Paddington Station and Hyde Park. The pillows were really flat and we were only supplied with two total, so we would suggest some upgraded pillows and a minimum of 4, since the bed acts as the couch for sitting. That was the only negative inside the apartment. There is an Italian Restaurant next door to the apartment and they were hammering, talking loudly, and playing music until midnight every night and made it hard to sleep. I would not stay here again because of the noise. We were jet-lagged and tired and this made it harder for us to get acclimated to the time change. Maybe you could try ear plugs if you stayed here or maybe if you are a deep sleeper you can deal with the noise?
The first flat I checked into was a clear disappointment from what was presented on the VRBO website. It was Flat 2 on Level 1 of Ambassador Court. It was small, rundown, with a terrible view and very thin walls.
Fortunately or unfortunately for me, on the second day of my week-long stay, the ceiling over the bathroom and also the walls near the basin started to leak. The light in the bathroom went out with a pop and I was afraid after that to use it, in case I get electrocuted
I had no choice but to move to Flat 13 on Level 2 the following morning. This was more like the flat that was advertised.
All in all, I enjoyed my stay because it was easy to contact the person in charge via WhatsApp and sge even allowed me to have a late checkout.
When I was checking in, they understood the predicament I was in as I had recently undergone surgery on my left foot and arramged for me to collect my keys from the restaurant next door.
Also, the flat is coveniently located, with Paddington station 5 minutes away and Lancaster Gate a minute away but closed during most of my stay as there was a staff shortage.
Highly recommended if you can get the flat with a view facing Craven Terrace.
The check in process is a hassle, you have to pick the keys from a hidden box in a parking lot situated 3 blocks away from the apartment.
Once we arrived the apartment was not cleaned and the bed sheets were not changed. The issue was resolved by the property manager relocating us into another apartment; but we had to go back to the assign apartment the next day and had to go back several times to the mentioned parking lot to pick the new keys and drop off the other keys.
The following day we had to go back to the original apartment. On several nights at around 3 am the next door neighbor started a phone conversation that went on for over an hour; we could hear clearly and couldnât sleep.
The following night the same neighbor played loud music for two hours and had another conversation with somebody, we couldnât sleep for a second night in a row.
The apartment is conveniently located. It was not like the pictures shown on line.
Les points faibles : Communication et exactitude de lâannonce
Room for improvement
Not as advertised: The photos at Vrbo do not accurately represent the room we stayed and there was no internet connection. When we informed the property manager that there was no internet service, she indicated that she would send someone to fix the internet connection at 5:00 PM and that we had to be present at the property while the repair took place. Since we was on vacation, we had other plans.
Poor communication with property manager: We were unable to use one of the two front door locks. We informed the property manager but we never got an answer. When it was time to return the keys, we found that the keybox lock code had been changed. We got no answer at the phone number that the property manager had provided. This property manager seems to prefer using the Vrbo messaging system to communicate.
The property is in a wonderful location. However, if you go during the summer, the room becomes uncomfortably hot because there is no AC.
Suitable place for having a place to sleep while visiting London. Keep in mind there is a lot of outside noise from the Italian restaurant (great food) below during their hours until 11pm and walls are thin with a neighbor that stays up late. Bathroom is dimly lit but otherwise a good experience.
We had a hard time sleeping in this very tiny apartment as the neighbours on the one side chatted until 3 am. Not loud, just normal conversation, but one can hear everything through the walls. Everything else went well.
If you like a room with no wifi,no air-conditioning, lights and outlets that don't work, barely lit bathroom with no outlet, no paper towels or kitchen towel. Then this is the place for you.
That's if you can get in. Wrong phone number of owner given to me as well as vrbo. VRBO was able to help us by giving us the directions to get in.
Here they are: lookin at the address walk to the right about 500 feet. You will see a restaurant called La Mena. In front of restaurant there's a pole with lock box.
I will send a picture. We found after about 30 min searching!
Can't seem to attach pic. I'll describe where it was. A street sign pole that had 2 bikes locked to it. The lock box was hidden behind the bikes.
Also the room backs up to the back of a restaurant outdoor prep area. Very noisy!
Stay away.
The property was just the right size and comfy. The bed was very nice and it came with a fully kitted kitchenette. The only problem was a slight mix up for check in that was out of the owners control.
This flat is in a great location near lots of cafes and stores. Itâs a short walk to Hyde park and tube station. My biggest criticism would be the shower and lack of sufficient towels. The shower door is only a small piece of glass and it lets water get all over the bathroom floor. We were only given 2 large and 2 small towels for our stay. Ended up having to contact the owner for more. She was quick to respond and I was able to pick some up at dry cleaners down the street.
Absolutely loved the place, very central and close to Oxford Street. The flat is cozy and has everything you need for a stay.
Great communication with the owner.
There is a lovely pub on the same street, recommended as well :)
Will definitely stay again!
