Dites Aloha à cette belle propriété en bord de mer et de studio au 2ème étage de charme perché sur une falaise surplombant Charley Jeune Beach.

Avec vue sur l'océan les plus fantastiques tout au long de l'appartement, ce bord de la mer Studio de Classic est terre-à-terre et élégant dans sa simplicité. Il est décontracté et bien aménagé avec une table à manger de style héritage et deux chaises, le salon dispose d’un canapé et d’un confortable lit Queen avec un ensemble de draps de la collection Hôtel. Les portes palières ouvrent sur une véranda ensoleillée avec vue jardin de jardin et juste au-delà, vue sur la plage de sable et le surf douce. Il a sa propre entrée privée à l’arrière de la maison principale, une cuisine entièrement équipée et une salle de bain privée avec baignoire moelleuse et serviettes de plage.
Les installations comprennent la climatisation, le WIFI et un écran plat T. V., 2 chaises de plage et un parasol.

Peut accueillir parfaitement 2 personnes mais peut accueillir 3 personnes avec le canapé-lit supplémentaire.

Le vaste espace en bord de mer en face de la maison principale est à votre disposition pendant votre séjour parmi nous. Il s’agit sans aucun doute d’une des caractéristiques de cette liste et de la meilleure partie de la propriété: couchers de soleil et observation des baleines, veuillez en profiter!

Le quartier
Le Charley Young Beach Park est situé sur la place Kai’au à Kihei, le mot hawaïen Kai’au traduit en anglais «nage en mer» ou «un endroit agréable pour nager». Cette plage est bien connue pour ses vagues douces et parfaites pour la baignade, la plongée, stand up paddle, pêche, et il y a des miles de plage de sable de marcher dans les deux sens. Et presque tout se trouve à quelques minutes en voiture ou à pied de la plage: épiceries, marchés de producteurs, cafés, cafés, restaurants, restaurants raffinés, boutiques, divertissements et de tout ce dont vous pouvez penser pour rester heureux et à l'aise pendant votre séjour.

Perfect location

We had a great ocean view from our upstairs studio. It was very spacious. The very short walk to the beach was perfect. Parking on the street or in the nearby parking lot was easy. The studio had an air conditioner but we left it off and opened the windows for a wonderful breeze.

Perfect spot right on the beach

This is a wonderful space with a full kitchen and view of the ocean. You can hear the waves through the open window. There's a good AC unit for the hotter days. The shower has good hot water and pressure. There is plenty of seating to just relax and enjoy the view and sounds. There is direct access to Charley Young beach park which is just as lovely as you can imagine. But it's also right on the main road to everything you need in Kihei. Walking distance to Kihei Kalama village. I wish I was still there.

The unit was very roomy for a studio apartment and the location was excellent. It is only maybe 30 yards to the beach.

Clean, comfortable and great beach

We had everything we needed to enjoy our stay, including beach chairs and towels for the Charley Young Beach which is a great sandy beach with excellent sunsets seen from the beach or the deck. You can’t beat the location!

Hawaiian Beach Vacation

About what we expected, was nice looking out the window and seeing the beach and ocean. Slept with the windows open and fell asleep to the sound of the waves. Location was perfect, parking was sometimes a challenge as there is no designated spots for this property. I would say the one thing that we weren't happy with was the towels didn't smell very good.

Another great stay

This is our fourth time staying at this property! It’s a great location and the studio is charming and comfortable. We watched whales breach from the patio. The location is on one of the best beaches in Maui. We used this as a home base to explore the island! We also appreciated the beach amenities Derrick and Arlene provided—chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards and more!

Perfect location

This is the best location ever!! The view is phenomenal and the access is great. Easy walk to the beach and any place you need to get - restaurants, stores, coffee, activities - everything!! Manager is on the property and very helpful with anything you might need. An absolute gem!!!

We really didn't know the history of the house until we talked to the owner. This is actually is the Charlie Young house. The current owner and his family co-own the house and kept it in the family. This house is right on the beach. This is not a new house. It was built after the war. It has some age, but also charm. Did I mention it was on the beach. Charlie Young beach and the start of Kamaole beach #1. The surf sound is almost to loud if you open all the windows. We watched most sunsets from the lawn of the property. Again this is not a new property or 5 star. But we had no problems and the owners were the kindest people. We also had a private parking space. Thanks Derrick and Arlene

Good location

Good location just off the beach with close proximity to shops, stores, and restaurants. Unfortunately we notified the property manager early in our 14 day stay that we had a bad kitchen faucet (leaky) and it was not fixed at the end of our stay. Some of the windows will not open properly and the lock on the sliding glass door is very difficult to use

Perfect for 2 on a budget

Only complaints, walls are supper thin and windows are louver not solid so you hear everything. Pretty quiet neighborhood so first part of stay was great waking up to the waves, but the early garbage truck that come two days during our stay and loud second neighbors were awful! So if you are a light sleeper might want to bring a sound machine. Shades were shear so thankful it was private, but we still kept the lights low. The yard to use you have to go out around the house, down the street to the opening in the gate to use, kind of weird. Also not enough towels for 4+ day stay, 1 per person with no washing machine is not enough. Thankfully we were there only 5 days or I would have requested clean towels. The shower and kitchen sink are tricky to turn on and off. Last the sliding glass door is really hard to lock. Other then that loved the location and it fit in our budget.

On the beach

Host was very responsive throughout. We arrived well before check in and he graciously provided early access. Home is steps from a great beach with sunset views from the unit. Plenty of great beach equipment. We loved listening to the sound of waves at night. This property was a great value!

Unbeatable Location

First things first, the location is unreal. Steps from one of the best kept secret beaches on Maui. White sand, calm waters, and tide pools with numerous turtles and wildlife. Close to ABC and other shops and restaurants as well. The property itself is a no-frills kind of place, which is perfectly fine and what I was expecting. Two things I want to mention. First being the poor sound-proofing between neighbors. The people in the unit next to us by no means were being loud or unruly, but we could hear very clearly everything that was said or going on. It legitimately was like we had a third person in bed with us snoring. Second, the cleaning and general state of the unit was honestly a bit in disarray. Toothpaste scum all over the bathroom faucet, kitchen cabinets not closing/hanging off, the shower hot water dial being nearly impossible to figure out. If sound doesn’t bug you or it being a tad dated, this place really is a fantastic deal.

The Sea at my Footsteps

I had a wonderful stay here. The proximity to the ocean was perfect. I thoroughly enjoyed falling asleep to the sound of the waves. The property was clean and very private. I would recommend Blue Water Rafting for a snorkeling trip that was recommended to me by Derrick. Aloha!

A most enjoyable stay

What a great location! We loved falling asleep and waking to the sound of the surf and wind rustling the palm trees. This beachfront studio is just what we had in mind for a convenient place to stay for our 6 days on Maui. Derrick and Arlene were very friendly and accommodating hosts. They provided us with beach chairs, umbrellas, beach towels, a propane grill, fresh bananas from their tree, and helpful advise regarding places to visit on the island. The unit is equipped with everything you would need, and is conveniently located within walking or short driving distance to restaurants, food trucks, and grocery stores. And of course...the beach. It's right out your window! We enjoyed swimming and napping on Charlie Young beach, and watching sunset from the sand, or the deck. You can't go wrong with this place if you don't have a big group.

Amazing, comfortable apartment in fantastic location

We were so happy with our stay. Derrick was welcoming and kind. We felt immediately comfortable in the space. The apartment had everything we needed, and was very clean. The location is incredible: a view of the ocean from the unit's balcony, a close walk to a fantastic beach, and a ton of great food nearby. The grassy oceanfront yard was also awesome for whale watching and relaxing. It's a special place!

affordable beach apartment

The location of this vacation rental is fabulous. We were able to walk from the door to the beach (one of the best beaches on the island) in 30 seconds. The hosts are generous with sharing beach items such as chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, towels, and snorkeling gear. Kihei is centrally located on the island and worked well for easy day trips to Haleakala, Lahaina, Hana, Wailea, the harbor at Ma'alea and other West Maui sights. The apartment itself is simple and older, but has a nice view of the ocean and the afternoon breezes kept the temperature very comfortable without needing to use the air conditioner. The bed is comfortable. We were happy with our stay here.

The property is tired and in need of updates and maintenance. Has everything you need for your stay if you aren’t looking for anything fancy! The view of the ocean from the small deck can’t be beat!

Rustic paradise cottage

More than a beach apartment

Staying at Derrick’s property was a true Hawaiian experience. The apartments view of the ocean and proximity to the beach make this the perfect getaway. The apartment had everything we needed and is an easy walk to restaurants and shopping. This is a very cool place nestled in Kihei and we would absolutely recommend it to anyone.

Prefect location

This property couldn’t be in a more perfect location. Second floor unit made the winds nice blowing through the unit. Located is within walking distance to all the restaurants as well as numerous parks and beaches. If you’re looking to be comfortable, conveniently located and surrounded by locals....this is the perfect spot. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would absolutely stay here again. Thank you to Derrick for being a good host and sharing your home with us.

Second honeymoon on the beach

My 83 year old husband and I stayed at the Classic Beachfront Studio for a third time to celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary. The studio is very vintage chic with beautiful photographs and sweet design elements. We greatly enjoy being literally steps away from Charlie Young beach so we can walk at sunrise and sunset, boogie board late afternoon and try a bit of snorkeling while hiking every other day upcountry. Derrick has added an air conditioner which helps with the warm midday while the rest of the time we kept the louvers open so the trade winds carressing us which is wonderful, with a gorgeous view of the ocean all the time. Derrick is very knowledgeable about places to hike and snorkel as well as restaurants and more and responds well to text messages or just a quick chat over the balcony. Thanks for another lovely time.

Family owned, my husband Derrick was born and raised on Maui in this house. He is a Real Estate Agent, an amazing Chef and has been in the hospitality business for many years. I have lived on Maui for over 30 years and work in landscape and interior design.
We both love to hike & botanize, cook & entertain, farm & garden, and watch T.V. in each others arms.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

This is the original Charley Young Beach House.
The property has been in the family for generations and is situated at the entrance to one of the best beach parks on Maui, Charley Young Beach, which is named after our grandfather, Charley Young, who came to Hawai'i in 1932 as a military reporter to cover the infamous Massie Trial. Settling on Maui, he purchased this oceanfront parcel and built a house for himself and his wife, Betty, and became a well known public figure and reporter for the Maui News and Honolulu Star-Bulletin in the 1940’s and 50’s. The house still stands today, relatively unchanged with all of it’s ‘Old Hawai’i’ charm, telling generations of family history.
