We had a fantastic stay at the villa. The view is unbeatable and the property is comfortable, lovely, clean and well stocked. The host was helpful and easy to communicate with. We were thrilled with our stay and loved the walk into Florence.
Karin is the consummate host down to the very last detail. From arranging a transfer from the train station to restaurant recommendations to coffee to wine and of course the air conditioning we were pampered and felt right at home! The villa is lovely and the neighborhood charming. We walked off many great meals heading back up the hill! Thank you again Karin!
When we travel with our adult family, we stay at VRBOs. This is BY FAR our favorite VRBO! The location is within easy walking distance of the city center of Florence. Each bedroom room was spacious and no detail was overlooked in this GORGEOUS villa! There was a dining table inside, as well as one outside on the patio. We would eat outside, as it overlooked the Tuscany region! Simply BEAUTIFUL!
Exceptionally well appointed VRBO in Florence. Small walk up the hill but easy uphill walking distance all the major restaurants and museums. The place is an architectural masterpiece. I wish I lived here.
The villa was one of the highlights of our trip to Florence given the layout and quality of the finishes, location, and Karin's responsiveness during our stay. Highly recommended.
We enjoyed our stay in Florence. The house is beautiful and the host is very communicative. As it is not in the center of Florence, it is a bit of a hike to get to most places on foot. I gave our stay a 5-star review, but would also like to point out that the house next door has 24-hour security in the form of armed guards. I was informed of this the day before we arrived. They are stationed in front of this property and are not always friendly. I'm not sure how long this will continue, but keep in mind that you may encounter them.
This property is the perfect distance away from the hussle and bussle of Firenze. It is clean and very comfortable. You'll get your heart rate coming up the hill, but we loved the exercise.
Karin was wonderfully helpful and made renting easy! The home is beautiful...and the path in to Florence is lovely. A little bit of a workout to return up hill to the home...but we found it a nice walk after dinner:-) It was a little challenging to get taxi services at this location- but otherwise we very much enjoyed Villa Ventura! Thank you Karin!
My family had the most incredible stay at Villa Ventura and didnât want it to come to an end! We enjoyed the peacefulness and serenity of the beautiful Tuscan countryside and the ability to walk into the city to explore. The villa itself is amazing. Lots of natural light, clean, comfortable, and stunning. Karin was a phenomenal host. She was super responsive and provided many great recommendations in response to our many questions. We appreciated her arranging our transfer to and from the train station. We hope to return to Villa Ventura.
We loved this property the perfect place for the family to have our Christmas. Each room had it's own bathroom. The view is out of this world. The place was so clean and very well equipped. The town and location really lived up to being in Italy. Like others said the only downside is walking up the hill from the backside using the street was easy. And hard to get cabs to come to you so you had to walk into town which is not far away.
The homeowner was great at communicating with us and coordinated a driver to the airport.
We could not have imagined the property to be more beautiful. The location and views were perfect and just a short walk from everything Florence has to offer. The San Niccolo neighborhood offers many superb restaurants where we ate lunch and dinner. Other restaurants in Florence are just a convenient taxi ride away in the evening. Our host was magnificent and answered all of our questions in a timely manner and went above and beyond our expectations even helping to arrange the car service we used when we travelled outside of Florence. We look forward to coming back in the very near future.
Wow! This property was beautiful. All of the bedrooms weâre gorgeous, the kitchen and living room was very modern and very put together. Our family got to see an amazing area of Florence that we never knew existed. But that huge hill is no joke in the summer heat. Make sure to be prepared for that hill since it is very steep and long. But other then that it was an amazing experience and I would totally recommend, the property and area if you love walking around a beautiful city.
The property was beautiful and modern. The entire process of renting , communicating with the owner, her advice and recommendations were all perfect. The property is on a hill just outside the main city, it has great views but can be difficult to get to town. We are middle aged couples and walking down and then uphill weâre not an option. Getting taxis was easy and really helped alleviate any travel issues. Florence is a beautiful city with great art, history, shopping and food. People throughout our visit were friendly, helpful and welcoming. We truly loved our experience and would highly recommend this VRBO to anyone wanting a unique experience in Florence.
Les points faibles : Communication, emplacement, exactitude de lâannonce
Did not look like the pictures
I think that they used a lot of photo shop. It difinately does not look anything like the photos. They need to tell there customers you need to walk down and up a very steep hill. Also if you need a taxi you need to walk up to Main Street. Owner can be very harsh! Would not recommend.
Villa Ventura is a magnificent property. Every detail of this property has been thought out and well-executed. We loved the modern design and cozy touches of this property. The sunset views from the lovely terrace were incredible every single night that we were there. The hot air balloons in the morning views were outstanding, too. The en-suite bathrooms were all beautiful and the beds were very comfortable. It is difficult to find a villa for rent that has such a close proximity to town. The San Niccolo neighborhood nearby has a nice bakery, a couple of small markets, a coffee shop, good restaurants, wine bars, pizza places, etc. And it is a quick walk to (and across) the Arno River from there. That said, it is a fairly steep walk up back up the hill to the villa. (We did it at least twice a day so it is definitely doable,) We are already making plans to go back to this delightful find. The communication with the owners was exemplary! They are just great.
Gorgeous very comfortable home just south of Florence center in hills with incredible views. Canât say enough about this house as weâve stayed in several rental homes and this is far and away the best and at a good price point. No need for a car if youâre staying in Florence. We walked to and from city center every day. One caution - the hill to the house is long and very steep. It was a great workout every day and helped to burn off the calories from bread and pasta. But it is a steep hill. Incredible views. Owner was always immediately accessible. Home is beautiful and very well appointed. Zero complaints and highly recommended. Looking forward to returning to Florence and this home again soon!
Our family of six had a wonderful 8 days staying at Villa Ventura. The views of Florence from the walking path each day were breathtaking. The view from the patio of the countryside was just as pleasant. The renovation of the villa is first class. Karin and her family have taken great care to ensure that every detail is order for their guests. Karin was extremely responsive, arranging for all our transportation needs to and from the train station and airport. When we inquired about a cooking class at the villa, Karin suggested chef Patrizia. Patrizia was amazing. Our time with Patrizia was a highlight of our trip. We got our exercise during our trip, which was exactly what we were looking for by staying at Villa Ventura, walking the path to and from the city each day, taking in the incredible views. We cannot recommend Villa Ventura highly enough. Our entire family was extremely impressed with the property. A 5+ star experience!
Overall, this is a very spacious property with three bedrooms and baths, all en suite, with really nice views of Florence from the upper floors. The elevator helped a great deal as the laundry and extra bath are in the basement. The villa was clean and well equipped with very good air conditioning, which came in very handy during our stay as temps were close to 100 degrees F each day.
As several reviewers have mentioned, the location is a bit out of the way and the local taxi's are hit/miss in terms of willingness to come out. Getting a ride from in town out to the villa wasn't a problem, but calling for a taxi in Florence is a bit of an issue in general and getting one out to the villa even more so. We elected to rent a car based on several reviews and consultation with the host. The property was supposed to have a parking spot, but the host gave up the spot to a neighbor during our stay as the neighbor was having a pool installed and needed the spot for crews to access his yard. We weren't aware of this when we reserved the rental and were told after the fact. Parking was supposed to be available at the "top of the street" right off the main road, but we found that to be constantly full as most everyone on the street parked up there (the street where the villa is located is very narrow and it's very difficult to turn around) and if you didn't get your spot very early in the day and keep it you likely wouldn't have a spot when you returned in the late afternoon or evening, which defeated the purpose of having the car. Additionally, Florence has zones within the city that are off-limits to drivers without a permit, which basically means the taxis and some locals. All things considered, the rental car wasn't worth it for us. Couple that with the issue of getting taxis out to the villa and the logistics became an unforeseen issue and limiting factor.
We did make the walk "down the hill" to Florence city center. It's a beautiful walk on the way down, but make no mistake it's steep in spots and making the walk back up the hill, which we did once, isn't for the masses. It's a major challenge and really isn't suitable for most.
We enjoyed our stay in the villa itself but would caution prospective renters to give proper consideration to the logistics involved of staying off the beaten path. If you plan to spend a significant amount of time in the villa and your focus is more about getting out and about in Tuscany it makes more sense.
I am German and my husband is Italian. We are seasoned luxury hotel veterans and understand the needs of the discerning traveler. Together we have hosted guests in Florence at Casa Ventura for more than five years now and have received only five star comments. We have added Villa Ventura to our portfolio and hope you will equally fall in love with the prime location as we have. We have two daughters that attend the International School of Florence.
Here is why we fell in love: Villa Ventura is nestled in the Tuscan rolling green hills, only a short steep walk into historical Florence. Within five minutes you are in the San Niccolo neighbourhood, the oldest district of Florence and the most beloved area by the Florentines, as it's residential. Here you can find the perfect mix between Florentine foods, local artisans, and a lively summer nightlife scene by the Arno river. 10 minutes more and you are at Ponte Vecchio. You get to enjoy the best of both worlds. We created the house to take in all the gorgeous views of the scenery. Large windows, balconies, a terrace with furniture and gas grill and even a mezzanine to have a view onto the Duomo and Florence. You get to enjoy the best of both worlds!
