My son and his friend and I stayed here for our annual SDCC visit and the location and home were perfect. Lots of delicious restaurants in walking distance. Easy Uber to downtown and the convention center. The home is roomy and modern with all the amenities. Beautiful space that was ideal for our stay.
I did pause when the booking required not only a security deposit but also accidental property damage insurance. I almost backed out, but my excitement for my trip won out. I won't make that mistake again.
The trip itself was great. The house was as advertised and what we wanted. The host provided ample communication with how to use the extensive hi-tech in the house. We were highly entertained by the toilet bowl that would light up when used!
However, after returning we were informed we would not receive our security deposit back. We were told we chipped and scratched the surface of a decorative table in the master bedroom. The table was supposedly worth $5000 (!!!), and had to be shipped to Italy for repair/replacement. And I would be expected to pay to cover a replacement for the several months the decorative table could not be used. The "damage" was created by moving small decor to the side, and placing folded clothing and a small amount of jewelry on top of it. A picture of the "damage" was provided but is so small it could have easily been there before we were.
So, either the owner has expensive tastes, elaborate high-tech devices, and delicate furniture in his home but STILL chooses to rent it out, or he is banking the security deposit in addition to the rental fees and making even more money.
You decide for yourself, but we have learned our lesson.
Had a great week-long stay at the property. The location is super walkable to Little Italy and lots of cute coffee shops. We loved taking a bottle of wine up to the balcony to enjoy the sunsets and watch the planes come in. Despite being so close to the airport, the double-paned windows did a good job sound-proofing, and there's an air purifier in each bedroom if you're worried about AQ--we had no problems. Brian was very communicative and a wonderful host. Would stay again!
This condo is literally the most centrally located thing we could've asked for. Less than 10-15min walking distance to Little Italy, Gaslamp District, Seaport Village, Balboa Park, the zoo, ANYTHING YOU COULD WANT TO DO! We didn't uber around ONCE while we were there. Keeping the doors open at night keeps the whole place cool, and by the end of the day you're so tired from all your adventuring, that you have no problems sleeping through any city noise. Far enough away from major roads to not feel claustrophobic, but close enough to everything to still feel connected. We loved our stay. Our favorite bedroom was the one on the second floor. Facing the ocean!
This is a nice modern spot close to all the major San Diego attractions. Well appointed kitchen and has all the amenities needed for a great visit to the area.
Exceptional location incredible home. The pictures do not do this place justice. This place is like out of architectural digest magazine. The owner has put a lot of effort into the best quality materials and style and these beautiful things are not reflected in the photos that he has online. The home is a smart home and very modern. There were two pre-teen girls in our group and they were very impressed with the quality of everything in the home especially the stairs.
That location canât be beat. If you want to go to any of the attractions -the zoo, the safari or Seaworld, it is just a quick drive to get to those locations. If youâre interested in going to Little Italy or any of the other beautiful neighborhoods it is right at your doorstep.
The modern kitchen and the incredible island thatâs in the kitchen will encourage you to just stay in and enjoy this beautiful home. If youâre interested in just staying in and binging nonstop on Netflix or some other movie streaming channel, this place has nonstop screens and the ability to you for you to see things as if you were in your private movie theater.
It is clear that this is someoneâs extremely nice home. Grateful for the opportunity to stay in such a place. Itâs giving me lots of ideas on what I need to upgrade in my home.
Excellent communications with the owner throughout our visit. Our thanks for him opening up his beautiful home.
5-Star House, Great Location, Top of the Line Fixtures
Not only was our host, polite and welcoming, along with great instructions on how to take advantage of all the modern conveniences of this beautifully modern, artistic home; Brian provided a great place with all the amenities to make our stay top notch. He made upgrades to the house that went beyond the listing on the web site. Can't wait to come back!
I'm a friendly, open-minded hard working professional who owns a small consulting business with four business partners that focuses on call center operations, process and technology. I travel quite a bit both for my clients and for fun/adventure. I live alone in the townhome and routinely host guests in two spare bedrooms on Airbnb where I have been designated a Superhost for more than two years. When I'm traveling, for work, for a weekend getaway, or a longer adventure trip, I make the entire home available here for groups and/or families. Given that this is my personal residence and I've made significant investment in furnishings and renovations, I am very selective about whom I choose to rent to. When requesting, please provide information about who will be staying, along with the purpose of your visit and your general plans when staying in my home.
This is a great property in nearly the best location imaginable in San Diego. It's a great neighborhood that is not that busy, yet just a few blocks away from just about anything anyone would want in terms of restaurants, theatre, culture, parks, etc. It also boasts one of the best views to be had in San Diego without being in a high-rise condo/apartment building.
Well appointed and well-furnished place, located within walking distance of most of downtown San Diego including Balboa Park, the waterfront, and Little Italy; Gourmet kitchen and luxurious, welcoming living space.
