What a magical summer we had, getting to spend the entire month of July at Antonella's family villa. We couldn't have a more glowing review about the property, grounds and hospitality shown our family friends. This was the quintessential Italian countryside experience we were looking for. It's nestled on the outskirts of the charming town of Umbertide along the Tiber riverbank and surrounded by farmland. Very quickly we discovered our favorite morning routine was to walk along the scenic river path into the town square for our morning cappuccino or local farmers market. The architecturally stunning villa is steeped in history dating back to the Medici period but has been tastefully updated with modern conveniences. I personally had concerns about the quality of WiFi and how I would work remotely, but those were quickly eased once we settled in and found the owners had thought thru the entire guest experience. As for the hospitality with Antonella, I think this story will sum up what a delightful host she is. One of our cousins were celebrating a 50th wedding anniversary while we were there and I had mentioned we would like to hold a renewal of their vows at the villa. She went out of her way to connect with several local congregations until she was able to find an English speaking Friar to conduct the service. As well as helped bring in decorations and a local chef to cook the celebratory meal following. What a true welcoming spirit! Il incanto!

Three weeks in Umbria

We were a group of seventeen adults so we were scattered among all the houses at Petrogallo. We found the accomodations comfortable, if perhaps, just a touch Spartan. The pool was very nice indeed. We spent most of September there and the weather was warm on quite a few days to lure us in to the water. Antonella was very helpful in many ways. We merely mentioned one day that with 17 of us the coffee ran out quickly mornings and we were having to make three or four pots! Next morning we found a nice note and a brand-new coffee pot! I recommend Corte del Petrogallo most highly!

Meget flot hus og dejligt at hver familie kan gå ind i sin egen lejlighed, dejlig stor og ren pool.

Området er indbydende til vandre og cykelture.

dejligt feriehus i Umbrien

Vi var 14 personer, og vi havde en virkelig skøn ferie i Umbrien. Huset var bare så dejligt store værelser og dejlig have med en stor swimmingpool med liggestole og parasoller til alle. Jeg kan kun anbefale dette hus, hvis man vil have et skønt hus nær en dejlig by. der var kun 500 m. til byen med en dejlig cafe,hvor man kan få verdens bedste cappuccino. Så hvis man vil på ferie med en en større gruppe (der er plads til 22 pers.) Kan jeg varmt anbefale dette hus. Antonella der står for huset, er den sødeste værtinde man kan tænke sig.

Petrogalla is a wonderful place to stay. Antonella is a gracious hostess

We had a week long family vacation here (16 people). It was a great place for a family - kids loved the pool. The location is perfect for access to all the sights in Tuscany and Umbria. If you are looking for a place to stay, you can't do any better anywhere!! Antonella was such a great hostess - she helped us arrange for meals and auto repairs.

Absolutely stunning, comfortable, relaxing, inviting and beautifully renovated 13th century villa.

What an incredible part of our 16 person Italian family vacation. Antonella was just wonderful to work with not only prior to coming to Umbertide but also once we arrived. Both she and her staff were so willing to make our stay such a pleasure and we truly felt at home. One of her first comments to me as we arrived was to make this place your home. This was our first Home Away experience, so I was a little nervous about renting, but after a few short emails back and forth my mind was put at ease with the entire process. We even booked a local chef and staff to provide us with a huge July 4th celebration dinner. Antonella was a great communicator in that she let us know everything that was available for us to do. Upon arrival and a short conversation with her we were able to transfer passport information, she gave us a nice history of the villa and surrounding areas. Antonella wade it very apparent that she would be around to help us schedule anything we wanted and greeted us each day with some amazing baked goods. As it turned out she even brought us to the local grocery to pick up some initial staples the first night. By staples I mean great Tuscan wine and snacks. We rented the entire villa, so family fun by the pool was what we did with our down time. We made daily trips into Tuscany (Cortona, and Montepulciano) and at the beginning and end of each day we communicated with Antonella on property. I can't say enough about how lucky we felt that Antonella and her family had made such a beautiful property available to our family. We plan to visit again and would highly recommend this property.
