Excellent property, well maintained and equipped and a very peaceful setting.
We enjoyed our holiday and the hosts were very helpful.
A shame about the weather
My family, including 3 adult children and a dog, had a wonderful time at Le Pigat. The house has been beautifully restored/converted and is by far the nicest and most comfortable that we have experienced in many years of visiting the Dordogne. The view from the back of the house across the pool provides an uninterrupted panorama across fields and forests all the way to the horizon. A great place to relax. Alain and Patricia were the perfect hosts, taking time to make sure that we had everything we needed. We had a lovely peaceful holiday and with the very hot weather (it was 41° on the hottest day), the pool, sunbeds and umbrellas were much appreciated. We would highly recommend Le Pigat, and have already booked again. Thank you, Alain and Patricia, see you next year!
Lots of Wow factor - very private, lovely pool, huge outdoor areas, family history, one of a kind, lots of room downstairs. We enjoyed our stay at Le Pigat - despite Alain's problems with the electrics, his work around solution was fine but the DVD player's lack of volume through the TV meant it was unusable (Alain had installed Chromecast to mitigate this but we don't use Netflix etc.).
The Vrbo website description is misleading though in its listing of bedrooms and bathrooms. Le Pigat is described as having 3 bedrooms each with their own bathroom. However while one bedroom has an ensuite consisting of bath with shower over, sink and toilet, the other two bedrooms each have a room with a sink but then share a "Jack and Jill" walk-in shower and their toilet is at the other end of the balcony (no sink). There is also another toilet and sink on the ground floor.
This came as quite a surprise to us but being on holiday we made the best of it.
We unfortunately missed the morning bakery delivery as the baker was on holiday !
We did spend some glorious evenings outside under the bower - eating, drinking, talking, laughing - what more do you need !
We enjoyed a fabulous family holiday here. Thoughtfully converted barn with wonderful pool in an idyllic, tranquil location. Great for peace and quiet and relaxation, but 20 mins from Bergerac and wonderful surrounding vineyards, and very accessible for exploring the Dordogne area and all it has to offer. Thorough handover from Alain, some local treats to get us started and the daily delivery of bread and croissants was the icing on the cake- Thank you!!
Wonderful property - well equipped, spacious and a beautiful pool
We had a wonderful holiday staying at the property. The welcome process was friendly and thorough, and the daily delivery of bread and pastries was a lovely touch. The garden is beautiful and the pool is a great size
Wonderful family holiday house in a perfect French region
We very much enjoyed our stay. Visited Lascaux, enjoyed walks, the city of Bergerac and life around the pool and of course the ever tasteful French food. Your kitchen was perfect for it. We were sad to leave however sun and the French life gave us energy for the next year. We might return to enjoy more in a more free of Covid society. Thank you so much for sharing your lovely family house. Kindest regards!
Wonderful stay in this lovely house with a great pool, fab facilities, lovely hosts and a beautiful location. After a stressful few months, we couldnât have asked for a better place to relax and enjoy time as a family. The house is well located for lots of great day trips, local markets and activities. It is very well equipped with everything you need and Alain and Patricia are very helpful and responsive. The daily breakfast delivery was a wonderful bonus! We had lovely days by the pool enjoying the stunning setting and long nights under the amazing night sky. A brilliant holiday enjoyed by all our family.
A friendly welcome from Alain and Patricia.
Well equipped both inside and out. Great kitchen, plenty of sun loungers and toys for the pool. Extensive peaceful grounds, the description and photos don't do Le Pigat justice.
The best memory is having an evening swim in the pool with the sun setting at the end of a hot day, with only the sounds of nature, and the backdrop of trees and fields to accompany you.
The icing on the cake was the delivery of fresh bread, croissants and pain au chocolat every morning, waiting for you in a plastic container outside when you wake up.
I would highly recommend Le Pigat and hope to stay again in the future.
