A wonderful peaceful property in a glorious part of the world. The indoor and outdoor spaces are just about perfect and the whole property is a credit to the owners. Thanks Sarah
Fabulous house in the French countryside!!!From the booking process through to departure, the host, Sarah, was very attentive and helpful. La Grange is a beautiful property with a fantastic pool area. The house is well equipped and enough to keep everyone entertained. The barn is perfect to keep the car cool during hot days. The local area is great with plenty of amazing French villages to visit such as Beaumontais or Realville. Bergerac is less than 30 minutes away. Looking forward to visiting again!
Right from the outset, Sarah was very prompt with communication, which is always reassuring. Prior to our arrival, she sent through comprehensive information about shopping, things to do, places to eat etc. The house was easy to find and in a very rural location, so plenty of peace and quiet. The pool area is great, with sunbeds and sofas plus very necessary umbrellas. The pool was lovely and warm, and as we had incredibly hot weather, a welcome relief! As there were only two of us, we had no need to use upstairs, so had no need to use the stairs that some previous renters have commented on. Lovely to have decent saucepans available (ironic, as we only used the cooker once - we used the barbecue most of the time). If we visit the Dordogne again, we would definitely return.
The house is really pretty, clean and cosy. The Region is wonderful (food, landscape, castles...). The pool is really big and it is nice to stay around. The owners are also great, always available in case of. We 100% recommand this house :)
Very well equipped house and garden, excellent pool, very private. Slightly challenging access upstairs. Extensive information about area provided, owner very helpful.
What a wonderful family break we had at La Grange. A very well equipped, character property that the owners have obviously put a lot of effort into making it so welcoming.
The pool is absolutely amazing, we spent hours in there!
The loft bedrooms do get very warm, but it was exceptionally hot when we were there and fans are supplied.
The area has many lovely towns to explore. An abundance of markets and restaurants. The Monday evening in Beaumont is a must, can also recommend swimming in the lake at âLac de Pombonneâ and canoeing down the Dordogne!
Communication with owner Sarah was superb, from booking right through to when we were there, answering any questions we had etc. Also lots of information at the property with things to see and do.
Book it, you wonât be disappointed!
We spent week in this well equipped holiday home in Blanc near Beaumont du Perigord. Our party include our two boys (youngest 10) and my wife's parents (oldest 80) - so it was Paediatrics and Geriatrics on tour!
The house, with it's back garden/ boule court and pool, was an ideal base to explore the interesting local area.
There are some super local restaurants from, simple to Michelin standard, and a great local supermarketer for the BBQ nights!
Everyone was happy and had a great week.
PositivesâŠkitchen well equipped and functional, covered porch area outside for dining. Sitting room comfortable but very dark.
NegativesâŠpool had not been cleaned full of debris, outside full of weeds, outside furniture tatty and dirty, just very unkempt.
Main bedroom was large but bed was a small French double not large as stated, my husband is 6ft3 and couldnât stretch his legs out.
The upstairs can not be called further bedrooms and bathroom as only access was ladder type steps and not suitable for adults, especially with poor mobility conditions,
The property was very damp and the smell was over whelming, infact there was a thunderstorm one night and the rain flooded the kitchen and hallway through the French doors even though a neighbour brought around old sheets/ towels for us to put by the door it still flooded through.
Outside area accessibility was a nightmare with the steps, this obviously can not be helped but should be mentioned in the advertisement so for anyone with mobility conditions can avoid, if we had known this in advance we wouldnât have booked this property, I fell down the steps going into the kitchen and cut my elbow.
We did contact the owner within a few days and she did address some of the issues, arranged the pool to be cleaned after 6 days of being there and her neighbour weeded the outside area, but this should have been done before we arrived.. we had booked the house for 14 days but left after 6 days.no compensation was offered.
Weâve just returned from a great holiday at La Grange. The house is full of character and was a brilliant base for us to explore the region. It has everything you need, and the pool is beautiful. The bedrooms were lovely (as is the rest of the house) - the stairs to the first floor are quirky, but we didnât have any problems with them.
Sarah was absolutely brilliant throughout the process, plenty of comms to advise on things to do and she was very accommodating.
We used some local walking trails for mountain biking which was great, and Monpazier is worth a visit. The Monday night at the market place in Beaumont was very nice, and we also took a trip to do some kayaking on the Dordogne. Local supermarket is 6 mins away in the car.
We had a fantastic holiday and loved the property and the local area. Highly recommended.
Lovely property, we all had a fabulous time. Great communication with Sarah the owner who was very responsive. Information folders in the property we're very helpful and allowed us to make the most of our weeks stay.
The house had everything we could possibly need for a week's holiday. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen very well equipped. Outside was a dream! The pool was an amazing bonus, as the heat wave had really set in when we were there. We ate every meal on the pretty, shady terrace and spent many nice evenings by the pool. It was ideally situated to explore the region's bastide towns and markets, but it was a pleasure to come home to the peaceful hamlet and a lovely swim at the end of a hot day.

Quirky and comfortable
This cottage is well situated for discovering the wonderful Bastide towns in the Dordogne. It is probably more suited to the younger generations as access to the upstairs bedrooms is negotiated by an steepish staircase through what appears to be an enlarged loft hatch with a child's stair gate at the top. There are beams to duck under so agility is required - all in our party were a bit creaky! However, the lounge is comfortable, the kitchen well equipped, the ground floor bedroom very spacious and beds/pillows comfortable. The twin bedroom upstairs is suitable for two children and the double bedroom is spacious and comfortable. The upstairs bathroom is large also, with a multi-faceted shower that has water coming from several directions! We loved eating outside on the covered terrace. The swimming pool is a good size and large enough to have a good swim to cool down. It has a cover to help retain the heat at night. The owners had left a comprehensive guide to the area which was most helpful. The Sky TV was a bonus - it meant we didn't miss The Bodyguard! The Internet signal was better than at home. It was a successful holiday and we enjoyed our stay. Thank you to Sarah and Gerry.
PROPERTY: This is a lovely property located in a scenic quiet hamlet just a very short distance from a thriving quaint French village. The house is well appointed and has very much been set up as a "home from home". The kitchen has everything you would need from extensive matching crockery and glasses to accommodate every drink type to plenty of pots pans, utensils and big presentation dishes. The beds are comfortable and all of the furniture is of an excellent standard. Everything works in this house, wiif, TV, DVD, appliances and there are 2 fridge freezers to store plenty of the great local Rose wine!
It is a beautiful place to spend time with a comfy living space, sheltered veranda at the back of the property and a beautiful deck (new from the photos) beside the pool with comfy wicker sofas. The whole place was very clean and well maintained to a high standard.
LOCATION: Close to Beumont du Perigord (5 min drive), it is a lovely setting, private and quiet with nice surrounding properties. Although Beumont is a small village/ town it has a thriving atmosphere with plenty going on, music events, markets and local amenities as well as a larger Intermarche on the outskirts which has everything you could possibly need.
OWNER: Sarah provided prompt and helpful responses to any questions we had prior to booking the property. She was also excellent in providing hints and tips for enjoying our stay and getting the most out of our visit. My twit of a son left his mouth brace behind and within 24hrs of contact Sarah had it located and packaged and on its way back to the UK (excellent service!!!).
RECOMMENDATION: I would thoroughly recommend booking this property to friends or relatives. We are a family of 5 and this was perfect for all our needs. The house and pool are great, the location and area are beautiful and dealing with the owner has been easy and a pleasure. What's not to love!
Great location for exploring the local area, is about 40 minutes drive to the more popular Dordogne river towns such as Beynac and Roque de Gageac, then you can return to the peaceful environment at the house. There are many night markets, music nights and local restaurants all within easy reach. So much to do for all ages. The house has a friendly feel with love and attention paid to its different areas and decor.
Large decking area with outdoor furniture at the side of the heated pool and plenty of large umbrellas for shade in the day and a wonderful space for sundowners! Newly installed pool heating system (2021) to keep the pool at just the right temperature for you whatever the time of year.
