This property had everything we needed and more! It is surrounded by the best beaches and in a safe neighborhood. We took walks to the beach every morning and evening. We got to watch the sea turtles come up on the beach to bask in the sunshine! Perfect experience!
We had plenty of room for sleeping, eating and lounging around after long days of exploring.Short walk to the beach, easy access to Waimea CanyonWould stay again!!
Perfect island getaway. Near everything without being busy, noisy and crowded. Perfect location for the adventurous, beach-going, sightseeing, and/or do-everything family.
We stayed in this beautiful home with our family of 4 adult kids. Home was easy walking access to many things. The host was easy to talk to. Home was very clean and beds were extremely comfortable.
This home is wonderfully furnished to meet the needs of a large group - plenty of cookware, dining ware, and seating options for an excellent stay. We enjoyed a vacation with family and friends - a group of 8 adults, 4 couples. We enjoyed the 2 master bedrooms and bathrooms and 2 twin bedrooms with their own third bathroom. The driveway provided plenty of parking for two mid sized SUVs. The living room, kitchen, and indoor and outdoor dining areas provided excellent spaces for us to gather, cook and share meals, and enjoy quality time. The private outdoor dining area up front was an excellent surprise we fully enjoyed! The rear lanai provides a beautiful view of the resort green and path, and the path provides a short, easy walk to multiple excellent beaches, pool, and hot tub. We appreciated the access to the garage with coolers, boogie boards, beach and lawn chairs, and numerous other supplies to meet the needs of your stay. There were too many other simple amenities to mention that elevated the stay. You'll love your time at this home!
We loved the area, and the house was the perfect size for our family of 9. It was a short walk to 3 different beaches, and we walked to the Hyatt for coffee and breakfast. Would definitely stay here again!
The location is perfect. The walking path takes you to great beaches in both directions. The house is comfortable and a great size for families. It's a very relaxing environment. I highly recommend watching the sunsets and turtles at Poi'pu Beach. And surf lessons at Nukamoi next to Poi'pu Beach... Smith's luau and Shaka "zip and sip", Lydgate chocolate... Long list. You're sure to have fun and this is a great home base for your adventures. The house
Walking distance to beach, nice landscaping, quite area, home was very nice with a balance of privacy inside and a common area for dining. Lots of glass so we could see out. We enjoyed our stay
We loved the home and the area so much! We felt right at home and felt safe walking around. The 5 min walk to the beach was such a treat! Would definitely recommend!
Home was in a great location in walking distance of 4 beaches and great local restaurants. Home had space and was mostly clean. Had some ants and several cockroaches that we killed and only a couple after. The price was a pretty good bargain except for the heat. Some places say island breeze keeps cool, this didn't work here as we tried everything with windows and fans. We found it hard to move midday if at the house. At best was 10 degrees warmer inside than out. Locals said it was early summer. Maybe in winter or if you're from the south. We stayed in Princeville prior week without AC and had no problem with similar outside temps. Had plenty of amenities and owners were nice. Was a nice place in a great location. Just need to be honest about temps.
This was a wonderful location for our base camp on a trip to Kauai. It was within walking distance of several beaches, which the kids loves. Communication was great, too. The house was clean and well decorated, with all necessary amenities. Weâd definitely look to book this house again.
The home feels likes it needs to be updated and a little maintenance, but the price was great and it was a great location. If you are looking to be at the beach all day, this is super close and has a walking path out the back door straight to the beach. We left the house at 8:30 am and didnât come back till after sunset everyday, so it was perfect for us as it was mainly a large place for our larger group to sleep
Great location between two beaches and activities. The host was easy to get ahold of for questions or concerns. We had a few issues upon arrival but nothing serious. Overall I would recommend staying at this location and will also look at it for future trips! Future tenants bag your garbage because the people before us did not and we had nowhere to put ours until we bagged and took care of thier mess!
We had two families with 4 kids staying in Poipu for 10 days. This house had everything we needed to comfortably enjoy our time in Kauai. It was within walking distance to two nice beaches and had easy access to the rest of the island. The owner was very helpful in getting us set up and settled and did a great job communicating with us. In addition to having everything we needed to cook and grill at home, there were beach towels, beach chairs, coolers, and boogie boards that made heading out easy. We would happily stay here again.
We gathered our family here including a toddler and 2 infants. It was the perfect location to easily access all the best kids beaches, food, and easy access to both Waimea Canyon and Lihue. My adult daughter and daughter-in-law both commented on how clean it was and they are particular about that. The layout of the house was just right, the beds were very comfortable, the amount of beach toys available to us was phenomenal, the communication was fast and easy. I would totally come back here. The only challenge we had was that the room with 2 beds closest to the living room struggled with enough ventilation at night, so we put extra fans in there, which were available. We had access to the portable cribs. Having so many clean beach towels available was also a huge plus! Thanks for the great place for great memories to be made!
While we loved the location, there were many issues that made the experience frustrating.
The kitchen is in need of remodeling. The refrigerator barely kept the food cold. There was no remote in the back bedroom. The main bathroom needed deep cleaning, and new rugs. General excessive wear and tear, lack of upkeep. Lack of attention to detail.
The goodâthe location could not have been better, green belt, walk to great beaches. The house is priced lower than most in the greenbelt. The badâthe house is in terrible shape. I donât think itâs been touched since it was built. There is no decking or area to enjoy the greenbelt like all of the other homes in the area Most homes have mini splits in the bedrooms but none here. 2 of the bedrooms were unbearably hot. Many of the windows are broken and dont open properly. Just kind of gross overall. When we checked out we followed all instructions and were still charged 250 for âexcessive laundry and sandâ. We had fewer than the 10 person limit and were not told to sweepâŠand as a beach rental im sure there was sand left behind. They also said we marked the floors and wallsâŠ.which were hammered when we got there so not sure how they could have determined such âmarksâ were done by our group. Honestly, pay 100 more a night and stay someplace nicer.
Convenient Poipu location with lots of room for extended family
We stayed at the property for 6 nights in April with children, parents and grandparents. The bedroom configurations are ideal for this type of extended family gathering with both queen and twin bed options. There were also 3 full bathrooms which we liked! The dining areas indoors and outside are plenty big enough for 8 people and the kitchen is well equipped though the knives were very dull which made cutting pineapple a real challenge! The outdoor living space was very private but we would have preferred a patio on the green space since we thought the garden view was much nicer than the concrete.
We really enjoyed the green belt and walked every day to either Shipwreck or Poipu Beach! It was less than 5 minute walk to Shipwreck beach and 10-15 min to Poipu Beach. The pool is a 10 min walk in the same direction as Poipu Beach. There was beach gear in the garage and we used the chairs and boogie board.
In general, the house and equipment were a bit more run down than we have experienced at other rentals but the house was clean and quiet. Some simple updates such as new beach equipment and knives and an outdoor space that takes advantage of the greenway views, would go a long way.
The house is fine and the proximity to Poipu Beach is great. We didn't enjoy the manicured resort vibe, but that is my fault for not realizing what kind of neighborhood the house was in. I am giving it 3 stars because this house is priced for perfection and there were too many small issues for a place this expensive. For example, the fitted sheets were cheap and came untucked every night; the inner courtyard was not nice at all, with insufficient shade, crappy cracked cement, and very cheap furniture; no can opener and a cheep vegetable peeler that barely worked; there were 8 old-school incandescent bulbs (4 super hot and 4 less hot ones) surrounding the sinks in one bathroom that heated up the windowless space so fast that we brushed our teeth in the dark; weird wooden pallets on the bathroom floors that one of us fell off and almost twisted an ankle while I stepped on the corner of one in the middle of the night and it hurt like hell, after which we took them out; the beach chairs were super crappy; and the first night a sprinkler flooded the floor of one of the bedrooms. We had a great time based out of this house, but we felt slightly cheated with these minor issues given the cost.
This was a great place close to Poipu. We could walk to Brennecke Beach (great for boogie boarding), Poipu beach (turtles!), and shipwreck beach (running, hiking trail, views, but not good for swimming). It was great to have 3 bathrooms and laundry. The house had boogie boards and a cooler which were great for beach days.
Wonderful location. Walked to our seminar at the Hyatt everyday. Walked to the beach with the beach chairs provided. House had absolutely everything we could need. Highly recommend. Host was great with communication and extremely helpful for any questions we had. Would love to stay again.
We had such a lovely time! What a great location! We walked to the beach and pool every day! Thank you for giving a place to create wonderful memories!
We live in the California Bay Area. We have 3 children and visit this house every year approx 2-3 times. We consider it our home away from home and our kids love the island and all its activities. We always discover something new on each visit.
We bought this house after visiting Kauai numerous times. Our first visit to the island was to the north shore to backpack the NaPali coastline. Since then, we decided to buy on the south shore due to its centralized location, resort feel and drier weather. We know you will love the location in Poipu since the house is within walking distance to 3-4 different beaches, restaurants, shops, pool and tennis.
Our extended family love the privacy of the inner courtyard, the closeness to the Grand Hyatt and the beaches, and our parents love the single level and openess of the house. When our kids were younger, the inner courtyard and greenbelt in the backyard were a great place for the kids to play.
