Our holiday home KĂ€lltorp 129 is situated in a secluded location on the main road 34 - the road to Astrid Lindgren World. The house has good transport connections to the nearby lakes, to the two large southern Swedish rivers AlsterĂ„n and EmĂ„n, to the sea, as well as to many shopping facilities in the surrounding towns of Blomstermala, Högsby, Ă
lem and MönsterĂ„s. Ăland's dream beaches can also be easily reached in around 1 to 1.5 hours by car. The next largest city is Kalmar, about 48 km away.
The holiday home has two floors and a separate guest cottage with an area of approx. 15mÂČ. On the ground floor is the entrance area with veranda and hallway. From there you enter the living/dining room with an open fireplace, a cosy sofa for four people, a dining table with six seats on chairs and a kitchen sofa, as well as a cupboard with puzzles and games.
It continues into the kitchen with a fully functional SmÄland wood-fired kitchen and oven. The rest of the kitchen meets modern standards - a ceramic hob with a modern oven, two pull-out cupboards, a spacious sink, a crockery cupboard, a pull-out table with two chairs and a large Miele fridge round off the equipment. The kitchen is equipped with all cooking and preparation utensils, including spices and a small supply of cooking utensils, which can be used and replaced as required.
The kitchen leads to the utility room with waste separation, washing machine and a small freezer. On the shelf in the utility room you will find everything you need for washing and cleaning. Spare light bulbs, batteries, hoover bags and fuses can also be found here.
Finally, the ground floor leads to the bathroom with a modern shower cubicle, WC, washbasin, storage cupboards, bathroom scales, hairdryer and plenty of towel rails. The hot water boiler for the bathroom and kitchen is also located here.
In the hallway, a staircase with handrail leads to the upper floor. Here are the two bedrooms for two people each. The first bedroom is furnished with a double bed of 160x200cm, a shelf and a wardrobe, the second bedroom has a bed size of 180x200cm (two beds each 90x200cm), as well as three chests of drawers for the laundry. In the corridor between the two bedrooms there is a small workplace with a fold-away desk and a "library" for children and adults to browse through.
The third bedroom is located in the guest cottage, approx. 8 metres from the house. The stuga is equipped with a 140x200cm bed, a washstand on a chest of drawers for brushing your teeth, a pull-out table with two chairs, a wardrobe and a niche for luggage.
There is good internet throughout the house, we have a satellite connection.
Our guests can use two simple mountain bikes free of charge to explore the beautiful surroundings.
Our holiday home is situated on a spacious plot of approx. 2000mÂČ with its own driveway and three possible parking spaces. There is a large meadow for all leisure activities, a swing barbecue with fire bowl, a wood shed with free firewood. Bicycles are stored in a wooden shed behind the guest cottage.
The holiday home is a historic building - an old soldier's torpet in log cabin construction with a central fireplace, oven and kitchen cooker - fully functional. So if you want to bake your own bread in the historic oven, you now have the opportunity to do so here. If you want to know more about the torpet, you will find it on the Internet.
The house is located a few kilometres (see map) from the Baltic Sea coast, which can be reached by bike directly from the property via forest paths away from all roads. All the main roads along the coast have cycle paths - nearby shops are also accessible by bike. The two largest rivers in southern Sweden, AlsterÄn and EmÄn, are also in the immediate vicinity and are ideal for canoe trips. Lakes and rivers offer a variety of fishing opportunities - information is available at the house. In Blomstermala, seven kilometres away, there is a fantastic bike park with many tours for demanding mountain bikers, and to the north of Högsby there are a variety of climbing areas.
Culture can be found in Kalmar, a city with a Mediterranean flair. This is also where the bridge to Ăland is located, over which you can reach the dream beaches in the north of the island in around 1.5 hours. Finally, the Glasriket is worth a visit, with countless glassblowing workshops within a moderate distance.
