Perfect. Falling asleep to the sound of the ocean and waking to see the turtles was so relaxing. The unit itself has an updated kitchen and bathroom which were also nice. Easy check in and parking and nice location for all our excursions. Thank you!

Wonderful place to stay!

Beautiful condo with incredible view. We were able to watch sea turtles in the ocean most days from our lanai/balcony. Very clean with full kitchen and in-suite laundry! Also has ocean access which was perfect for swimming and snorkeling. Is located in quiet area, around 10-15 minute drive to common restaurant areas. Overall, would recommend!

Wonderful Stay!

Ocean Front Paradise

The condos are all ocean front and the turtles are frequent visitors. We came in February for Whale season. We liked the condo so much that we chose the same unit for our September snorkeling trip. The condo was clean and provided everything that we needed. We like to cook and the kitchen was well supplied.

Oceanfront at its best

We loved our stay at this apartment complex and enjoyed very much our unit. Good size for a family of 4 if you want to prioritize ocean view over 2 bedrooms at this price level. The building was well maintained and the unit had a very thoughtful and warm Hawaiian decor. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and spices and it was very easy to cook there. The balcony faced the ocean and the pictures are real, you are practically in the water with an amazing view of the Molokai island. We saw turtles basically everyday when we stayed in the month of June. The only part I did not like was to stay only 4 nights there! We can’t wait to get back. Enjoy this paradise responsibly!

The Perfect Maui Condo

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed here in June, 2022. The property is beautifully maintained and has easy access to the beach. You literally can go for a swim for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is a swimming pool but we didn’t use it at all. We stayed on the second floor and had an amazing breathtaking ocean view. The condo is comfortable, clean and equipped with all necessary things for our stay. The property is conveniently located within walking distance to coffee shops and the fish market. We loved our coffee at Cruzin’ Cafe in the morning. I would recommend to stay here.

Experience Maui at Makani Sands.

Rating Details: The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Unit was well equipped with kitchen equipment, beach towels and chairs. Great views from the lanai, especially the sunsets. Saw lots of turtles swimming by and whales in the distance. Very little beach and ocean can be a little rough at times. Great snorkeling when its calm. Pool onsite is heated and well maintained. Office staff are very friendly. Not too many restaurants within walking distance,although the local food trucks do good food. Better restaurants in kaanapali,but expensive. I would recommend this resort. Condo prices are very reasonable. Easy drive from the airport.

Great location

The property is located right on the beach with a spectacular view and the water here is less aggressive than in Lahaina. The furniture and bed covers are old and I didn’t want to sleep on or under them. The towels and sheets are nice and clean. Because it’s so close though, I think the sand gets inside and onto the floors. Bring house slippers. Property management should supply better mops as the vacuum simply moves the sand around, the broom doesn’t pick up everything and the squeezy mop is too small. There is carpet in the halls that makes the place look like a 2* motel. It needs to go.

Amazing Stay

Reviewer Comments: We loved Makani Sands and will definitely stay here again - saw so many sea turtles, enjoyed beautiful sunsets, condo was nice and clean, minutes drive to numerous great snorkel beaches. We were so happily surprised that condo includes nice beach chairs, umbrella and even beach towels, what a bonus!! Tammy could not have been nicer to work with! The renovation was the only tiny let down, but we thought the 25% discount took the sting out of that! Thanks Tammy for a great vacation celebrating our 40th anniversary! Hated to give property condition as a 3, after renovation, it will definitely be a 5, I hope we get to come stay again then!! Edit: read review from another that stayed in 202, which was our condo as well - he's right about the sheets, they were pilled - we had not stopped and thought about that, maybe a new set of sheets would be a good investment.

Memorable Stay at Beautiful Location

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Makani Sands is a special place. It's intimate in size, stunning in views and generous in amenities. Pros: location, size of units, VIEW, swim friendly beach right in front, great heated pool, beach chairs (no umbrella in our unit) and beach towels in great condition! in-unit washer/dryer which is very handy and comfy bed! I cannot stress the beauty of having your lanai and the waves crashing under you with the sun setting so beautifully. The BBQ area is also wonderful! So many great things to say about Makani, the cons don't even matter :)Cons: it can be very noisy in the back of the units which are street side. a bedroom is usually on this side, so it's tough to sleep with your windows open as the street is very busy at night (and garbage comes at 2a!). It didn't bother us, but if you're a light sleeper, it's worth noting, especially if your unit doesn't have AC and you like the cross breeze. No pack n play in units, you need to rent them or bring your own.We'll be back again and again to this special place.

So So Good!

My son and I are regular Maui visitors. We stayed away longer than usual because our last trip was 2018 and then Covid. We usually stay in Keihei. This is only the 3rd time we have stayed on this side of the island but we will DEFINITELY come back to this space. The condo is beautiful, the property set up with direct access to the ocean and a heated pool was amazing, there was another beach that was a literal 5 minute walk and across the street from that beach was a great little market and an AMAZING gift store with all Maui made items. Our trip was short but great. Vicki the property manager was friendly and attentive. There was a bottle of pineapple wine and chocolate covered macadamia nuts in the room as welcome gifts. The bed is totally amazing and the pull out couch was so much more comfortable than I had anticipated. We rotated through both spaces because we all wanted a day when we got to fall asleep and wake up to the sound of the waves, and open your eyes to this view!! My only suggestions would be to get some metal straws for the kitchen. I wanted straws because the tumblers were huge and finding ones outside that weren't paper was a challenge. But we were soo soo happy with 202 and we will be back!!
